Harvest Moon: Animal Parade
80
Official Nintendo Magazine UK
Another addictive Harvest Moon, but we'd like to see a few changes next time around. [Jan 2011, p.74]
The framerate problems shatter and destroy the game's whole structure. Its unbereable slowness hampers the gameplay and ruins the typical Harvest Moon experience. Animal Parade could have been among the best in the series: with those problems, it's one of the worst.

It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but this is still one of the best in the series yet. [Feb 2011, p.95]

This game is unforgettable. To start off, you are brought into this heavenly-like world where even the most negative person cannot feel *touched* by this game. It is not only captivating from the outside but once you play the game it is like you are literally there in that world. This is the perfect game whether you just want to get away or learn social skills (since this game has heavy emphasis on building relationships, which is a beautiful thing if you don't know how to talk to people). This game is also surprisingly *healing* for those who may have recently gone through (or are going through) something heavy in their lives, it makes you believe (and HEALS you) that people and the world is *good* again, making you a positive and happy person to spread onto this world. Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons is famously a faming game for those who new to it. This game specifically, is a *beautiful* life simulation game. Starting off with it's meticulously done and aesthetically pleasing artwork, you are welcomed into Castinet Island, where you are brought from a distant land (Waffle Island from ToT) to start your own life, later on you not only *build* your new life, but you find PURPOSE as well when you are greeted by Finn, the fairy, who asks you to HELP the island because everything from fire to the soil has died, and seeing your pure heart he knows that only *you* can complete this mission. You get to have your own home, make many friends along with the purpose (main storyline) of ringing the bells and awakening the Harvest King, you get to date, fall in love, get married, watch your friends get married, have not only 1 but TWO children this time around who resemble your spouse, your family helps you with the farm work and you can even TAKE THEM with you in your adventures, learn the value of hardwork and money (depending what you do), learn many things like animal species, recipes that you will most likely try at home), mine, attend festivals/events, play mini games, have not only a dog pet this time but a VARIOUS selections of your own (up to FOUR), get to explore Toucan Island, it's not FUN to log, you can share photos with your friends on the Wii as your friends' children grow along with yours. :-) MASTERED music that not only fits EVERY scenario, but is PLEASING to the ears as well. You also get to enjoy many scenes along with every character who is full of LIFE as you get to rival with your desired bachelor or bachelorettes as well. This time around you can pick from a WIDE variety of farm animals to enjoy and raise as well. You can pick from two variations fo main characters (broguht on from Tot) to fit *you*, the main character as best as it can. The best part fo the game is that as you are progressing, you are NEVER alone in your achievements, because of that you will get attached to every character pretty quickly. Every game file is unique to the walk of the player because everybody can go on *THEIR OWN* pace, unlike most games where after a set of things, like everybody else, you went through the exact same things cuz that's how the game was programmed. Unlike most games, you actually gain valuable life WISDOM from paying the Harvest Moon series. The creators put a LOT of effort in this game and no matter how many years pass it has BEAUTIFULLY stood the test of TIME. I recommend Rune Factory as well if you like the idea of fighting monsters and using magic like in other famous RPG games. This game is targeted for children, yet SURPRINGLY appealable for every adult as well. It brings you back to a place of decency, peace and STABILITY. Even after you finish the game it goes on like real life, you are still always kept busy, in here you are not only ever welcomed, but there is *always* something to DO (riding your new ostrich of course)!

Animal Parade is not perfect, but it is by far one of my favorite Harvest Moon titles. This is the most fun I've had with the series in a long time, and it's great to see the story integrated so well with the gameplay.

Familiar farming fun. [Christmas 2010, p.52]

The gameplay of Harvest Moon: Animal Parade is an acquired taste, but the satisfaction of building up a successful farm and managing your character's life at your own pace is certainly admirable.

The quests are fun and quirky, and the animals all look adorable. With it's plodding pace, it's not going to try draw in a new audience, but if you love Harvest Moon games, Animal Parade delivers just what you want.

Despite some flaws, this is a good entry both for newcomers who want to start to enjoy this farm games, and also for experienced players, thanks to its many improvements.

Amazing. I love everything in this game exept for one tiny thing. The blue feather. That part is the most annoying thing in the world. But other than tjat, the game couldn't be better!

This best Harvest Moon game so far has it all. It is almost perfect, actually it has it all! More Crops, More Animals, More Recipes which you can also sell for additional income, More Items, More shops(they expand depending on your hard work), More Fishes( i just love Fishing in this game!), Mining at its best, Better Characters with unique stories and dialogues, Dating Features, More clothes and stuffs to wear, Can have 2 children, Spouse and Children can help you out in anything possible, Win titles and trophies, Ride all your animals, More Pets you can train, More Expansions and Land Ownerships, More time to do more chores in a day and a lot more features you should try this game out. The graphics is cool and colorful, just perfect as it is. There are varieties of music which is enjoyable to hum along. The storyline is great which you can't ignore because it really covers the whole part of the game that comes along with un-lockable characters, shops, and more. This is about what you're looking for. Balanced and Fun.
