Gunbrella definitely includes a unique gameplay tool and presents charming pixel-art aesthetic. Unfortunately, its storytelling, though not bad per se, constantly pauses the action to a frustrating degree. Moreover, the level design leaves a lot to be desired, which is a shame considering that the eponymous weapon is a joy to use.
Gunbrella is a nice game: an action platformer with personality, stylish pixel art graphics, a surprising story and a pretty solid gameplay that puts combat first.
Gunbrella is a very solid game. It isn't perfect due to some easy boss fights, and it isn't quite a Metroidvania because of the game's linear nature. However, it does make good use of the titular weapon in performing some nice platforming tricks, and you'll enjoy some meaty combat with most of the enemies. If you don't mind the game's short playtime, you'll have some fun with Gunbrella.

It’s a good game with definite flaws. The pros are the art design and the characters. I came to like many of the characters throughout the game and the art and world look great. The cons are the story, combat, and traversal. While not bad, the story doesn’t really do anything for me. The objective is valiant but a lot of the story seems to be “go talk to this person” with not a lot of variation. The traversal was good sometimes but I often found myself getting caught on edges and getting annoyed rather than feeling like it’s a skill issue. The combat also isn’t amazing. Very few enemy variety and there’s not really any enemies that feel satisfying to kill. Overall though, I had a good time in my 8 hours that I spent on it, but wish a few things were done differently.

I deposited a lot of expectations in this game, but left it in the middle, feeling so much disappointed. Is the kind of game I like and yet didn't engaged a bit with the story or the gameplay. Disappointing to me

Cute, fun, varied game. First, the gunbrella platforming mechanics are cool: shooting while zooming past with your umbrella, bouncing off walls and reflecting projectiles.Exploring and talking around town is okay - but not super fun because these bits tend to be long.Overall, a nice snack **** - but definitely could imagine playing a lot more of the action elements - the last bosses were definitely too easy!

Humorous dialogue and banter brings levity to the grim, heavy narrative and bleak setting of Gunbrella. The game turns an elegantly simple concept on its head, resulting in gameplay that is both responsive and rewarding. Gunbrella is an exhilarating romp with an intriguing story that doesn’t shy away from heavier themes. Though there is some room for improvement, Gunbrella’s heart-pumping boss fights and memorable characters will stick with me long after I’ve closed my parasol.

Definitely worth a buy. Once in a lifetime game. Dont see to many as good and engaging as this one. I haven’t been this absorbed by a game in a long time. Probably since the messenger and a small few others. worth a try. Handling gets a bit off in tight situations. Sometimes with alot of fire on screen FPS takes a dive.

Gunbrella is an amazing experience! Great to see game maker engine pushed this far. Pros • great story, decisions made actually matter • excellent game design driven around simple one button input providing dash, double jump, zip-line, pogo, interrupt, block and parry. • Amazing art designwith an array of excellent characters that provide side stories •Great gunplay. Negatives •minor bugs that will probably be patched out. •Frame drops (on switch) •Boss battles on med/easy can be quite easy. In closing, this game is a must have. Its from great team in doinksoft. We need to get behind developers like this!

A surprisingly deep gameplay and occasionally brutal difficulty make Gunbrella an enticing game worthy of attention if someone is in search of something unique and retro.

The Enemy
Gunbrella is a straightforward, short experience that's refreshing amidst so many games that aim to fill up months of our play time. Its combat might be a bit repetitive, but it's still always a pleasure due to how great it feels to wield the game's titular weapon.

A fast and fun action platformer that effectively utilises its core gimmick in inventive ways, Gunbrella is the noir punk indie that you should be looking to play when the weather calls for a coat and a brolly.

a very interesting and not quite ordinary game in the action platformer genre, the game itself, according to the canons of the publisher divolver digital, is strange, with interesting mechanics (gunbrella itself is very funny haha) and a non-standard vision of the project. There are a couple of disadvantages - no map, short duration and blurry ending (not completely epic like some other fragments), but the game is wonderful
