SummaryHBO comedian Dana Gould fuels GEX with over 300 hilarious one-liners and sound effects. GEX's mouth gets him in trouble, but it's his thrashing tail and suction cup paws that get him out. GEX has been sucked into the Media Dimension, the place where cheesy 70's movies go to retire. To escape he's gotta kill TVs in each world.

Gex is the greatest game. Gex is like having a nice dream, then waking up in bed, and Gex is lying beside you. Gex changed my life. As a little scrumblo in the 90s, getting up in the morning was just exhilarating, because it meant I got to to play Gex. Gex is awesome. (Plus, Gex is hot.)

Gex is a great platformer with great visuals, great music, interesting mechanics, and a whole lot of late-90s charm. Its a time capsule of pop culture references. The only complaint I really have with it is that despite the fact it released the same year as Mario 64, it still uses an antiquated password system for saving progress (that you have to find in the level by collecting cassette tapes). Not to mention, running out of lives means starting the WHOLE game over. For a game this challenging and this long (24 levels that are generally pretty lengthy) it comes across to me as overly harsh for an otherwise pretty chill game.
