FBC has deemed you worthy of cleaning the Oldest House and as a good corporate employee, you will obey. Go solo or take up to two of your friends, put on the Crisis Kit, choose the desired job site and get to the cleaning, Firebreaker! And most important of all, never forget to take a quick shower with your fellow cleaners, as the ever-present paranatural and Hiss lurk all around you.
Firebreak could be 2025's most underrated shooter — if it can hold players' attention long enough. But Remedy isn't punching above its weight anymore. It's pacing itself, for better or worse.
Overall, a nice and fun little co-op game set in the Remedyverse of Control and Alan Wake. Clearly not a AAA-game like its Remedyverse friends, but in its genre and pricepoint a fairly enjoyable co-op. After the first major update in September, feels like a more cohesive game it was supposed to be to begin with and starting to be an actually fun co-op game :) Many of the problems faced with the original release have been fixed. Jobs, I mean Crisis, are more clearly defined and overall onboarding the game has been made much easier. Still, it needs some more content and features to be entertaining game in the long run, and some of those have been promised to be released later on. Meanwhile, you still get a decently fun and hectic co-op experience even out of the current content. Expect to have a technical glitch/connectivity issue every now and then, but nothing too major to spoil the fun.
As Remedy's first co-op shooter, FBC: Firebreak is a successful experiment, and while it doesn't quite match up to the best in the genre, the Oldest House is still a good stage for some creepy, frenetic action.
I quite like FBC: Firebreak, but I wish I could like it more. There's the amusing ideas of plaguing players with haunted sticky notes and rubber ducks, there's discovering unique level quirks for how to deal with picking up radioactive orbs safely, and the inherent joy of getting through tense backs-to-the-wall moments with allies by your side, but those moments of delight dissipate through a clunky user interface, abbreviated mission structure and too few levels to take on. This can still grow into something special, but Remedy might have to explore new directions to manage that.
Firebreak is a new direction in expanding Remedy’s connected universe, but the art direction and aesthetics can only do so much of the heavy lifting when the other aspects aren’t bringing as much to the table. The end result doesn’t stack up to the source material that inspired it, and to this Remedy fan, it could and should be so much better.
Very much enjoy this. Exactly as they described, something to drop into every now and then, that doesn't require a whole lot of admin and dedication. Hope it sticks around and they get to release some more content/game types.
I think this is an amazing game. You can really feel the love and passion that went into it. The mechanics are smooth, the gameplay is genuinely fun, and the commentary in the menu is a brilliant touch. I'm truly enjoying it, and it’s absolutely worth the price. I really hope to see more maps and content added in the future. It’s frustrating how many of the negative reviews come from people with barely 0.7 hours of playtime. They haven’t even explored all the maps, kits, or weapons. Don’t be misled by those early complaints. Give the game a proper chance.
It's honestly kinda sad that this game is as boring and unfun as it is Because I love remedy but this one just didn't quite hit the mark for me the shooting is deprived of feedback and feels floaty, the missions are kinda repetitive, the UI is as ugly as a cat's anus BUT the art style is still as good as any other remedy game which is a plus I suppose TLDR the game is pretty bad unfortunately
