My one gripe with the design choice is that some of the flying enemies are just ground enemies with wings. This is fine, but when playing on the Switch in handheld mode it can be difficult to tell them apart. This can get annoying when you are trying to full-health a level only to be surprised by a few flyers. In truth, the levels aren’t too long so it’s not much of a problem to redo, but it can be annoying. Besides that, the game is a decent tower defense with a bit of fun hack and slash thrown in.

If you're looking for a basic tower defense game to chill out with then Duke of Defense is certainly a capable albeit lackluster indie.

I really enjoyed this little indie Tower Defense game. It is clearly made by fans of the PixelJunk Monsters games, and it improves on those in many ways, strategically, in my opinion. The graphics are much more basic (obviously lol :) ), but the strategy is addictive. I found maneuvering the main character to be much more intuitive and easy than in the PJM games. As well, the PJM games suffer from horrendous loading time and this game does not. It has really quirky humor, clever level design, I loved the art, and in sum I think it's worth giving a shot to. As a huge fan of Tower Defense games (favorites being Defense Grid and PvsZ (original), I give this a big thumbs up.

I have played a lot of tower defense games. Most of them on my cell phone or tablet. The Kingdom Rush series are the best. They show us how such game can look like. Try it if you havent yet.. and this game shows us haw such games SHOULD NOT look like. The graphics are sooooo poor, that I´m even not willing to watch it. Not to speak about playing it. The idea of the game - there is a bit of news for the tower defense kind - is not bad, but its too good hidden behind the horrible graphics and overall its really poor. everything in the game is poor. I only wish and hope, that those are only "first steps" of the developers and in the future they will create more up to date games. This one is not worth the time and money... ****/dnV6wzPgm44
