Destiny: Rising is better than you might expect, often making you forget it’s a free-to-play gacha game. The story, though separate from the main canon, feels authentic, and the action is both fun and engaging. There’s plenty of content, but much of it is locked behind slow progression, with major parts only accessible later, and the campaign reuses the same areas too often. You’ll enjoy what you’re doing, even if the places you do it in become repetitive.

Destiny: Rising delivers a polished sci-fi mobile RPG experience with thrilling combat, strong visuals, and engaging progression systems that both casual players and hardcore grinders will enjoy.

Destiny: Rising has become one of the biggest unexpected surprises of 2025. NetEase has unexpectedly offered a highly competitive alternative to frustrated Destiny 2 fans, albeit presented with a touch of gacha elements. This should be a wake-up call for Sony and Bungie.

The game is like any other gotcha. Spend money feel powerful and the next month need to spend money again to feel powerful, if anyone tells you, you can still be powerful free to play are bs you. You will struggle as the combats and events are really base around who spends money. Have a good character you steam roll the events but have a bad one you struggle. Definitely better games out there and so if you’re not spending money then just look else where as you will just feel pointless at the game.

There are a lot of good things about Destiny Rising. It has rather good gameplay loop, lot of activities, fun events. I had a lot of fun with game at beginning (tho to be honest, story is very-very bland and bad). Problems do start later. See, gacha games are inherently pay to win. In most cases it's not a big problem as only place you will be feeling concern are Reddit and other community places, where people are flexing their achivements. But around 80% of activities in Rising involve other players. You will be paired with whales who spend thousands of dollars at this game and you will feel it. All the time. Not to mention blatant shilling for new characters and their paid weapons. And for what? There were barely any new content after release and it's quality is mixed. First new map will be coming more than after half a year after release. And remember I said there are a lot activities? But it's not "choose what you like" activities. It's "you need to do all of them to have resources to level up" activities. Overall it's a decent port of Destiny to mobile that's ruined by lack of content and very very aggressive monetization.

A gacha game at its core with insanely low drop chances and crippling progression (limited energy/stamina system) for having a free-to-play option. The plot and script, except for Saladin's part, is typical childish JRPG writing. Voice acting for the English version, except for Saladin's, is soulless at best. As an adult, you never feel any attachment or care for any of the characters. The characterization is juvenile at best, as in most JRPG games. Fixed abilities and weapon choices for characters, some of which lack any meaningful synergy. No agency for the players to tailor a character for a particular "role", unlike Destiny 2. There is no sense of scarcity that cannot be overcome by throwing money into the game. The developers don't hold back on any of the fun stuff though. The game also has pretty capable bots that are adequate for executing low level mechanics in team activities to compensate for insufficient players. But I wouldn't trust those bots to equip meta loadouts or perform raid level mechanics. That reflects their self-sufficiency or lack of dependency on free players to support the ecosystem. The rationed energy system and inadequate lumia leaves as activity rewards feels that the whole game is meant to be a trial-mode for the full product that remains inaccessible unless you spend a substantial amount of money. Sure, free players can spend several months to fully level up their favorite character, but then they are at risk of having their investment wasted in case the meta shifts. Also, there's the Acclaim system that requires multiple characters to be leveled up to progress. So, while on one hand, the limited energy system makes it difficult to farm resources even for one character, the acclaim system on the other hand, ensures that free players stay crippled unless they spend money to overcome these barriers. The carry over pity system for the gacha pulls feels generous, but don't expect the gameplay balance and buildcrafting fun or the dark and mature narratives from Destiny 2. Temu Destiny/10

Absolutely amazing! Insanely addictive. Between all the activities to do in co-op in this game, and the smooth gorgeous graphics, we have a true BANGER! A must must play for any Destiny fan. The story actually actually solves a lot of un-answered questions about destiny’s lore.

Fortunately, it’s great fun anyway and avoids some of the frankly exhausting grind of Destiny 2. It’s constantly tempting to drop real cash, but even without giving in to that, there’s lots to explore and do, and a hefty chunk of plot to get your teeth into.

Destiny: Rising offers the quintessential Destiny experience that you know and love, but with a couple of changes that leave me asking questions. The gacha system feels a bit out of place in this world, but at least the characters are fun to use, and the microtransactions aren’t too intrusive.

For players who are interested in Destiny‘s world and story but either don’t have a console or PC to play it on or don’t have the storage space to install it, Destiny: Rising is a fine alternative. With a more limited loot system and simpler loadout options, Rising offers a lighter Destiny experience without skimping out on any classic elements of Destiny. Set in a volatile but richly engaging part of Destiny’s history, Destiny: Rising delivers on everything it set out to be, with the potential to become something more.

Destiny Rising has so much content and features that there's something for every Destiny fan, but there's a lot of gacha monetization to dodge before getting to it.

Destiny Rising is a game I wish I could like. I love a great space opera, and the core of that is here. Good controls and meaningful progression lay a promising foundation. Sadly, little else about playing the game does anything to draw you back in.

Played since D1 beta and never did I realize that I would get a proper Destiny experience since Destiny 1 from a mobile game
But we'll see how long I can go without buying anything

Gameplay is really fine and Gacha System seems not be unfair until now. Only bad point is that android tablets only run on 60 fps but ipad pro have 90 fps. I'm sure this will be fixed during the next updates.
