Nostalgia might well have carried this one through, but in truth it doesn’t need it: this is a great game that has for the most part aged remarkably well, with the visual upgrade and other tweaks serving to make absolutely certain it’s worth the price of admission; I just wish the AI didn’t sometimes feel so cheap. It’s rare that a game can be as good as it was 20 years ago in a modern re-release – but this classic kart racer manages it.

Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled is just about perfect at what it’s trying to do. The redone adventure mode is a blast minus the grind required to get coins to unlock stuff, and the core gameplay has been refined. This results in the best-playing Crash racing game ever and yet another top-shelf kart racer. Right now, the genre is as big as it’s been in 20 years, with Sonic, Mario, and Crash all competing at stores and the best thing for players is that you can’t go wrong with any of them. Crash offers up a tremendous game overall and it’s definitely an experience I would put above Team Sonic Racing, but ever so slightly behind Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Crash Bandicoot and company return to the track driving their karts, now completely remodeled and ready to compete in the current generation of consoles. A title a little demanding but very beautiful, totally recommended to play with friends and relive those wonderful moments of our childhood.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is the best kart racing remake and a perfect return to a childhood favorite with modern visuals. It successfully brings back the nostalgic feel while updating the presentation for a new generation. I played through the Adventure (career) mode and really enjoyed the experience. It was fun, engaging, and captured the spirit of the original game while still feeling fresh and polished.

A sensação de velocidade também é muito bem feita. As pistas são criativas, cheias de atalhos, perigos e variações que deixam cada corrida diferente. Mesmo jogando repetidas vezes, ainda existe espaço para melhorar desempenho e descobrir novas formas de correr melhor. Outro ponto forte é a quantidade de conteúdo. O jogo traz não só o CTR original, mas também conteúdo de Nitro Kart e várias pistas adicionais, além de personalização de karts e personagens. Isso dá uma longevidade enorme para a experiência. Visualmente, o remake é excelente. Os cenários são muito coloridos, detalhados e cheios de personalidade, mantendo o estilo cartunesco da franquia com uma qualidade técnica muito superior. Cada pista parece viva e cheia de identidade própria. A parte sonora também ajuda bastante, com efeitos e trilha que reforçam o clima competitivo e divertido das corridas. Por outro lado, o jogo pode ser bastante difícil, especialmente para quem não domina o sistema de drift. O nível de habilidade necessário para competir bem pode afastar jogadores mais casuais em alguns momentos. Além disso, a progressão em certos modos pode ser um pouco exigente, já que vencer consistentemente requer prática e domínio das mecânicas principais. Mesmo assim, Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled é um remake extremamente bem executado. I want to love this game (it takes everything from the o.g. and brings it to new life, which is fresh and nice to see.) But the racing at times is a little chaotic, with too much going on (and the difficulty is way to staggered from medium to hard.) It's enjoyable for one cup race here and there. But it doesn't have that draw like MarioKart, where you play for an hour. it's more of a 15-minute joy-ride.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is another remarkable remake of a true timeless classic. It masterfully balances new and fresh content with everything that originally lapped up such a fanbase. CTR Nitro-Fuled not only feels like an indulgent, nostalgic treat but it feels like a game that can truly be appreciated all over again thanks to new and exciting tweaks and explosive new content. Step aside Mario, there’s a new karting-king in town.

I am completely satisfied with the game and enjoy it. Almost everything in this game is great, and the many characters, cars, and tracks are one of the obvious reasons why I think the game is awesome even in 2025.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is an impressive remaster from top to bottom. Beenox’s work here is certainly worthy of praise, but some of the credit also goes to Naughty Dog for crafting such an amazing game in the first place. It’s certainly one of the more complex and challenging kart racers, but it ranks right up there alongside the other greats in the genre.

Overall Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is an enjoyable kart racer. The karts are fast and the tracks are challenging, so the campaign mode can be a little frustrating to casual and younger gamers. Multiplayer racing is a lot of fun, both locally and online, and you can easily get in a couple of races when you only have a few minutes of game time available. I love all of the customization options, but picking up all of the coins that you need and accomplishing all of the goals required will take some time to get through.

Nitro-Fueled gives Crash Team Racing a much-needed visual facelift while keeping the first-rate kart racing mechanics intact. The small amount of single player content doesn't give you much to do by yourself, but the healthy helping of multiplayer modes and unforgiving AI provide plenty of reasons to keep you coming back.

This is the definitive Crash Team Racing experience. Nitro-Fueled is everything I hoped it would be, a faithful recreation of the classic game with added flair and personality. A lack of custom race settings and some superficial gripes are not enough to dissuade me that this is among the best kart racers available. Crash is absolutely back, baby.

A jam-packed remake that looks and sounds brilliant, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is a lovingly crafted remake of a much beloved kart racer. Online play and customisation bring it kicking and screaming into the 21st century, but for as fun as the zippy racing is, it sticks perhaps a little too closely to the original model. High difficulty and some unforgiving track design mean this feels slightly dated. However, it's hard not to crack a smile as you drift around familiar tracks, laying down TNT crates, and humming along to the music. Fans will love what Beenox has done, but for everyone else, just be aware of the game's retro tendencies before stepping behind the wheel.

It's quite acceptable within its genre, but I would have liked a better and longer story mode. Also, it's a shame it doesn't reach 60 FPS on PS4 Pro/PS5, considering Mario Kart 8 does on Switch.

The game itself is good. But the load times are unbearable, around 45 seconds each. Most levels are finished in a few minutes. I actually timed them, and for every hour of playtime, I was spending 15mins watching a loading screen. It's also stuffed with greedy microtransactions, and only has the campaign from the first game. So all the levels from Nitro Kart (the 2nd game) can only be played in the Arcade or Online modes, despite them having a Story mode in the original Nitro Kart. They could have taken the time investment that they put into microtransactions, and used it to add the missing campaign instead. But they chose the option that favors the publisher, not the player.
