Pelit (Finland)
A quite decent FPS and certainly an improvement over the original. It's quite unoriginal, though, and the opening level is very dull, but it gets better after that. [June 2011]
Awesome graphics, jaggy gameplay, grasping story and loads of action.
Even with several errors and limitations, the robust content is here, collecting various virtues, and, at the same time, primary failures, which, even with the help of patches, are condemned. But they are not condemned enough to commit an injustice and say that Conduit is not worth the play. No way.

If you like the first one then you will love the second one because it's even bigger , better and badder in every way. They also managed to make this game feel bigger and look more impressive than the first which is amazing.

As the video game industry has evolved over the years, it is quite easy to ignore the small development teams, and studios who tried to make it to the top. It is very easy to get caught up in games like Halo, Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Overwatch. While Xbox 360 and PS3 had the FPS genre covered on all fronts, it is often overlooked that the Nintendo Wii didn't really have a shooter of such caliber on their small piece of hardware. Now I know what you may be saying to yourself. "Why, the Wii did have Call of Duty! It was a run down port of Call of Duty, but it was a game from that series regardless!" Well naive reader. You are correct. The Wii did have Call of Duty titles. However, what it didn't have was an exclusive shooter that could compete with other games of the FPS genre at that time. Sure there was Metroid Prime 3 (and soon after the Prime Trilogy was ported all together.) However, Metroid Prime was more like Bioshock rather than a multiplayer centric shooter like Halo or Killzone. Enter High Voltage Software. This small dev team was setting out to put themselves on the map by doing something no other developer would dare to do. High Voltage would create an exclusive shooter for the Wii. Did they succeed? Well, sorta. Conduit 1 was a major success yet was considered as a pretty generic game all things considered. The plot line was considered silly and took itself way too seriously. The single player campaign was quite linear and didn't give much reason for players to play through again. There were few modes and it just wasn't the greatest thing on the system. Heck, even artistically it was almost lacking. High Voltage Software would need to make some massive improvements in order to maintain their rise as a studio. So how did Conduit 2 do in the end? Although Conduit 2 sold quite poorly due to several factors in not only the industry, but their own internal problems as a company (which can quickly be gone over in a watch of Did You Know Gaming's videos about the company) Conduit 2 was High Voltage's clear response to every single complaint made about the original and more. The story was silly in the first game and took itself too seriously? Well now the game is going be outright silly on purpose and really make fun of itself (and the original.) There were many modes? Well here's local multiplayer, improved online, several vs types, and even a survival mode where you fight off waves of enemies. Oh! And there are a ton of unique weapon types that you haven't seen anything like since Perfect Dark on N64. The single player was very repetitive and had little replay value? Well now every single level feels like a whole different culture, has dozens of secrets, a ton of lore, a much greater array of enemies and scenarios. Oh, and the writing is hilarious to fit the stupidity of the original game's plot. It's brilliant. Conduit 2 is the result of a small dev team working their butts off to please consumers while dealing with constant losses at all ends due to things they just couldn't control. Normally you'd expect an end result similar to that of Superman 64 or Mighty No. 9. However High Voltage Software managed to create what is easily one of the greatest titles on Wii, hands down in the top 15 if not top 10. Conduit 2 gets a solid 9 out of 10.

Conduit 2 is a good example of a sequel done right: it's an evolution of the previous game with a multitude of major improvements. With a bolder, brasher single player game, for better or worse, and a far more robust multiplayer mode, Conduit 2 isn't just a good first person shooter by Wii standards. It's a damn good shooter, period.

Conduit 2 is the good sequel to High Voltage's The Conduit. It features good graphics and good multiplayer, but a too-short single player campaign.

Nintendo Power
Conduit 2 certainly has some issues, but it's heartening to see that High Voltage Software took people's criticisms of the first title into account when developing this follow-up. [Apr 2011, p.76]

Conduit 2 is like a typical B-movie: action, action and even more action. Sometimes the events try to be very spectaculair but somehow it never seems to grab you by the throat. That doesn't matter though, because Conduit 2 is a decent game.

The Escapist
Conduit 2 suffers in comparison to what's available on the other consoles or the PC, but the addition of motion controls that (mostly) work make it worth a rental, as long as you can get past the goofy story.

The original Conduit was one of my favorite games on the Wii but this one is takes too many steps in the wrong direction.

There's only one 4-minute bit in the entire thing that was fun to play, and that was tailgunning in the spaceship. So at least the whole review wasn't negative, amirite?

This is great sequel even if it falters in some areas the original didn't. The addition of the local multiplayer was a missed opportunity, since it often crashes the Wii,but the campaign alone is worth the purchase for Nintendo Wii owners.

The first Conduit game was fantastic, and is easily one of the best games on the Wii, the sequel while good is a huge disappointment, everything is worse than the original, the graphics which were fantastic in the first game are surprisingly bad, the controls feel loose unlike the original, all the voice actors have been changed, and they are all awful, the story makes absolutely no sense, you never know why your doing what your doing, it has glitches like an enemy wont take damage when you shoot them some times, and most of the weapons are underpowered this time, and there's only a few new ones about half way through, luckily the multiplayer is great, and is the reason you should pick this up, although the slight looseness of the controls are here too, while it's not as good as the first it's still a good game, and fans of the first should pick this up, and I hope they get things right for the next Conduit game.

Fairly lame sequel to a great game. The new multiplayer mode tried to be like cod but failed. Very unbalanced. The story mode isn't fun at all. Part of the problem might've just been the limitations of the Wii but either way this game was not as good as I'd have hoped.

Conduit 2 should not have been put on to the Wii, it should have been made the Wii U. As a result of using a standard definition console, Conduit 2 seems to really suffer. Bugs, glitches and frame-rate dips galore. The motion controls for some reason which were great in the original Conduit here seem too loose and difficult to control. Visuals are a mixed bag, nice and varied environments mostly hide the average character models though the animation is decent to be fair. Gameplay wise the game is one step up, two steps down from it's predecessor. There is more action this time round and some really impressive set pieces, although these get fewer and fewer as the game progresses. The control scheme makes what would have been a average at best shooter into a often frustrating one. Yes there is the option for classic controller play but that doesn't really add to the experience nor take away. Multiplayer is surprisingly deep and entertaining but lag issues are what makes the online multiplayer uncomfortable to play. Fair to say it's no Call of Duty beater when it comes to online multiplayer, but High Voltage Software should be praised for making an attempt at a HD console quality online multiplayer experience on Nintendo's online shy platform. The story lasts about 3-4 hours (each level gets shorter and shorter literally!) Multiplayer lasts the same amount of time as your patience which means it varies for each person. Graphics: 7.5/10 Gameplay: 5/10 Features: 6/10 A disappointing sequel to The Conduit but it puts up a fight for itself, something that should be commendable. I would support High Voltage if they propose to port the game (in HD) to the Wii U, I believe it would find it's home there. I would also go so far to say, don't blame HVS for this disappointment...blame Nintendo and their fear of progression into territories that other companies ventured into years before. Of course, I am talking about HD.

SummaryBuilding upon the success of the original, Conduit 2 will take players to the far reaches of the world to stop an alien invasion that can be fought in single-player, online multi-player battles, and all-new off and online co-op modes.
