The best PS4 exclusive and arguably one the best Souls games (I slightly prefer Dark Souls 1 but both are masterpieces). Bloodborne is brutal and will challenge players from start to finish but damn is it rewarding. Whether you coop or not, this game is a harrowing and brutal adventure with of the most memorable and frightening bosses I've ever slain. The combat is faster than the other Souls games before it and while I was worried the addition of guns would ruin the combat, they actually don't and I could see some people liking their inclusion, but you can't rely on them per se. Think of this like an unforgiving hack and slash with a very gothic tone. This is worth buying a PS4 to play it and I can't imagine it's expensive anymore.

One the best PS4 exclusives, and easily the best game Supermassive has made. I don't understand why they never did a full sequel. This game is terrifying and creative. It does a better job than most of the David Cage games and other choose your own adventure style games. While the characters aren't as fleshed out as TellTale's early Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us games, they change based on how you make them act early on which is cool. This game is good playing solo or with friends (trading off with characters). Graphically it still looks good too. One of the last great horror games (at least until the Dead Space remake comes out). The game is cheap now too. Seriously just buy it you won't regret it.

The updated visuals and cutscenes from the trailer made this look like a must buy since I never played the original. Turns out, the trailer cutscenes aren't what the game actually offers. What Ubisoft bs is this!? And then the original game is replaced by this one, which does not allow modded levels, player created levels? Really dumb. Can't recommend.

Once the initial high of the flashy fighting wares off, Jump Force is revealed to be a terrible fighting game and a huge disappointment. The graphics and lack of animation is beyond abyssmal. Look up cutscenes on Youtube to get a good laugh. The fighting is so basic it makes literally any other fighting game, even mediocre ones, look amazing. The roster is the only good thing going (which some of the cool characters like Seto Kaiba and All Might aren't in unless you have the season pass). The story ****, the missions are boring, the hub world is unnecessary and way too big, you can't even customize your character as much as you'd expect. And the load screens are abundant and long. I really wanted to like Jump Force but I cannot recommend this even to fans of My Hero Academia, Black Clover, the "Big Three", JoJo fans, or any shonen fans. I spent $60+ on this game and the season pass and immediately regret it. Spend your money elsewhere!

Batman: The Enemy Within - The Telltale Series
4
User ScoreStriderKiwi
Apr 1, 2018
The first two episodes aren't very good. Episode 3 is alright and then the last two episodes are good (even though the final episode ends rather abruptly and is slightly shorter than the others). Without spoiling too much, there are changes to certain characters from the lore that might prove divisive among fans. But, some of those changes do payoff in my opinion, and lead to some interesting moments you won't see in ANY OTHER Batman game/movie/comic. The writing is a bit all over the place. This game tries to weave so many choices and interconnecting threads that it will often feel like your choices don't matter as the game forces a single situation after making one of two very different choices. BUT, there are some moments (particularly in the latter half) that are well crafted. But then there's moments of straight up weak writing, that you'd see as beneath Telltale but here it is in multiple episodes. It is too ambitious though. At times it feels like one or two characters needn't be in this season, which has MANY characters, some returning, some new. Meanwhile, the game does perform slightly better than some of the others, it only crashed on me once and surprisingly there was no stuttering. But again, the gameplay is what you'd expect from a telltale game, with little innovation if any. One aspect that will likely infuriate some players, is that the game forces you to spend more time playing as Bruce Wayne than Batman. This is mostly episode 3's fault but there was a point inbetween 3 and 4, where it felt like I spent 2 hours straight playing as Bruce. But probably the worst part about the game, is that *****SPOILERS******* Bruce Wayne's identity becomes known to about half the cast, even if you choose not to tell them. 2 characters learn it almost immediately. And then there's one character whom I wanted to tell it too, but game wouldn't let me, even though it was a character that made plenty of sense too. No matter how you look at it, season 2 is inferior to the stellar first season. Some fans will still enjoy this entry but as someone who adored the first season, I can't help but feel a let down. The game doesn't live up to Telltale's best, in fact Telltale has been off it's game since after the first Batman season.

Magus is more or less 2014's Ride To Hell Retribution, only it's not as annoying or frustrating like most really bad games. In fact it's ridiculously easy. The story and writing are beyond atrocious, it's like an idiot tried to create clever one liners that don't fit at all in a medieval setting, but that just makes it more enjoyable. The game is exceptionally unbalanced, but surprisingly in the player's favor. You get all these ridiculous powers while you **** enemies never seem to get any stronger. It goes without saying that the graphics are **** There's not a single texture that looks even decent. The thing is, everything that's bad about the game provides accidental entertainment value. I got it for like ten dollars and somehow it's turned out to be a worthy investment. Words can only begin to describe how utterly hilarious and stupid Magus is as a game. Dual wielding guns is a blast and the auto shotguns rock but some of the weapon like the lasergun aren't fun and the assault rifle's iron sights are terrible. The graphics are good. If you get the game, get it on a next gen console or gaming pc. The story is hit and miss, mostly because of the tone. At times it's super serious, which is fine, but then at other times it tries to be just dumb fun, which is also fine, but the two don't mix very well. Bethesda claimed the game had a 20 hour campaign but I beat in 10. That's a quite an exaggeration. It's not a terrible game but it's not a great one either. It settles somewhere near average to me, but I play every FPS that comes out so maybe that's why it just can't really stand out...

The web-slinging is atrocious and now getting across Manhattan is no longer fun and simple but a chore and obnoxious. The combat is ok but the camera both during combat and while web-slinging is horrible and almost never showy like it was before. The story is horrible. Kraven is ok but the Peter Parker segments do nothing and even the overarching story is bad. There's a lot less of a focus on free-roaming and far more linearity in this one. Finally, I swear the graphics are worse in this one than the last. Also it glitches out and prevents you from completing objectives. Ride to Hell Retribution is the best worst game ever made. Your character will randomly explode for no apparent reason. The driving mechanics are sloppy and make the gameplay even more bewildering than it already is. The graphics and textures feel like they're from a bad ps2 game. The cutscenes are laughably bad as are the fully clothed "sex scenes." Combat in the game consists of a three combo punching headbutt and kick style that's shallow and ridiculous, and every cutscene starts without all the textures loaded in. The game sometimes crashes behind load screens, dear God, if I keep listing all the problems this game has this review will never end. It is quite possibly the worst game I've ever played, and that's why you should buy it. I got it for $10 and everytime I show it to my friends we all laugh and have a great time. You have to see it to believe it. If The Room or Troll 2 was to have a videogame equivalent, it would be Ride to Hell Retribution. The game looks great both ingame and during cutscenes with only the occasionally bad texture or two. Surprisingly the acting on everyone's part isn't anything special (and I'm a big fan of both Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe and the dialogue is also pretty basic and disinteresting. The story contains some good ideas and moments but is undone by the following: jarring shifts in tone ranging from horror, to sci-fi, to drama, to thriller, and so on. What's worst is that nothing happens in order and as such, you find it very hard to care about what's going on even the story. I wish the game had been mostly chronological. The gameplay is mostly contextual acitons and sometimes it works, others it doesn't. Controlling Aiden is a lot of fun though and this is the kind of game where playing with friends around makes for some decent entertainment. I don't think Beyond Two Souls is a bad game but I'm not super into it either. Still enjoyed it for what it's worth though.

The story was boring and not exactly told to you in best of ways. Your character is silent because pffft hiring a voice actor would cost money, you can't fight the monsters only run because fending for yourself is overrated real gamers/people run from their problems. Some enemies can't actually be seen because they felt like being lazy and then the big scary monster looks downright awful and not frightening in the slightest. I laughed my ass of the first time I got a look at him. Finally, it's not scary. Yeah I realize some might disagree and yeah what scares one person may not scare another but I really didn't find this game scary. It really reminds me of Slender Man, another overrated "horror" game: both are only frightening to people who either scare easily or haven't seen many horror movies or played many horror videogames. They basically just ported 2 and 3 and...that's it. So if you really like one or the other or both then go for it. I wasn't super into 3 but I found 2 to be a great trip down memory lane. Fun gameplay and some of the funniest worst dubbing ever. It's quite the experience.

Activision does not disappoint with yet another work of gaming art. This is the game that will convince the skeptics that video games can be art. Da Vinci himself would be scratching his head at the complexity and sublime material that "Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013", if he were still alive. Which he's not. He's dead. But here's the icing on the bacon cake people, this game so amazing, it raises the dead. Yes you heard me right. Da Vinci, Alexander the Great, even **** will be unable to resist the nonstop sexmachine that is "Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013". The only question that remains, is how long must we wait till Activision graces us with their next brilliant mind expanding enigma. But worry not, the world's greatest scientific minds have been hired by the Secret Service to deduce such an answer. And they have predicted that the next one will come out this year, just as it has been every other year.

One of my favorite party games ever and I usually am not a fan of these kinds of games. I've played it with so many different friends and we've all laughed at the game's sense of humor.

perhaps it's because I played 2 and 3 first but i never found this one to be that special. If you're new then pick up either 2 or 3 but don't bother with this one.

Fairly lame sequel to a great game. The new multiplayer mode tried to be like cod but failed. Very unbalanced. The story mode isn't fun at all. Part of the problem might've just been the limitations of the Wii but either way this game was not as good as I'd have hoped.
