Ball X Pit is further proof of the extraordinary creativity of the independent gaming scene. It's a title that knows its history well, drawing on classics such as Arkanoid, Tetris, and Breakout, and using them as a foundation to build a modern, brilliant, and surprisingly layered experience. The combination of RPG elements, management mechanics, roguelite components, and moments of pure bullet hell creates a unique game that is both frenetic and strategic. The gameplay loop is solid, satisfying, and capable of keeping the player in front of the screen for hours without noticing. The difficulty curve is well calibrated: challenging but never frustrating, always offering a stimulating and rewarding challenge. Artistically inspired by arcade atmospheres and accompanied by sophisticated sound design. A game that truly takes you into the abyss and manages to make that journey so enjoyable that you won't want to come back up.

Ball x Pit is a roguelike that mixes Breakout and Peggle with echoes of Vampire Survivors and The Binding of Isaac. You choose heroes, launch baby-orbs to hit enemies, unlock power orbs with different effects, and use fission reactors to combine and upgrade everything. Between runs, you rebuild Ballbylonia to improve stats and unlock new characters. The early game is tougher, but once it kicks in, the loop becomes extremely addictive, supported by great audiovisual presentation.

Ball x Pit is a surprisingly deep brick-breaker that relies heavily on smart strategy, clever experimentation, and careful planning more so than RNG and luck alone.

A very fun game for sure. I think it just took time for me to get into it as early on as i didnt care for the grind or town building aspect to it but the more i played the more i got into it and saw what game was trying to do and really came to like and i would def recommend it to people and i would just say to give the game time to grow on you as you get new abilities and balls to play around with (no ****)

Solid enjoyable game, surprisingly easy actually, I am used to these kinds of games being extremely grindy and difficult. Not a lot of content, quick to beat, very addicting.

Ball x Pit is a very easy game to pick up and play, though it’s also one where the central gameplay conceit is very much present in the free demo; I could see some gamers bouncing (pun not intended) off it pretty hard, but if the demo intrigues you, trust me, there’s a lot more to come that does get addictive fast.

The biggest surprise for me was that this game actually has credits after beating the last stage. So what does that mean for us? That means that this game qualifies to have a review (because in my case the game has credits ? = review XD). Now let's talk about the game itself. The first of all interesting mix of roguelike with some kind of mobile game (actual bangers with balls flying around and all these clones), and to all of this it actually has a city-building feature (and what fun that all buildings can be created with the core mechanic—ball bounce XD). At this point let's dive into gameplay. The main gameplay loop is next: jump into the delve, shoot balls to kill mobs to gain more balls to kill more mobs. Between all of this, control balls, combine balls, and evolve balls. I guess you got the point—BALLS! Also you have various characters (again with different balls). All buildings that you build also grant power-ups for your characters. The audio/visual part of the game is also on a great level; it sounds and looks great (I guess it's hard to make balls look bad). What about the plot? I guess you don't need it in this type of game. To make it simple, a giant ball falls from the sky and destroys the town; now you need to shoot the ball and recreate the town XD. So for whom do I recommend this game? For everyone who loves this genre and for everyone who just wants to play some fast time killers.

BALL x PIT takes the simple mechanics of a brick-breaker like Ballz and transforms them into an explosive roguelite RPG. Between twin-stick shooter action, Vampire Survivors-style power-ups, and surprisingly deep city building, each playthrough becomes a whirlwind of frenetic action and strategic planning. Unlocking new powers, fusing abilities, and upgrading your base is an irresistible gameplay loop, enhanced by beautifully crafted biomes and bullet hell battles against ruthless bosses. Kenny Sun once again proves his ability to transform simple ideas into brilliant and engaging experiences.

Playing Ball X Pit is a long ramp of rapturous discovery, a mad scientist's laboratory where the goal is to make the screen as blissfully incoherent as can be. [Issue#417, p.118]

A roller coaster ride of ball-bouncing action that loves to break its own rules.

Do not play Ball x Pit expecting a solid roguelite experience — because you won’t find one. What you will find, however, is an interesting reinterpretation of Vampire Survivors in a brick-breaker format: dynamic enough, with a generous arsenal and a small town-management mechanic that adds a bit of freshness to the formula. Despite the gameplay variations introduced by certain characters, it doesn’t take long before a sense of repetitiveness settles in, as you start chaining runs without thinking too much about it.

Most Addictive game I have played in a long time.
Better Than Mega Bonk
Would have never played it if it was not in game pass

The game play loop of BALL x PIT is serviceable. I find the activities and time spent between runs generally takes away from my time with the game. I don't hate it by any means it does not ruin a perfect game. However, for a game that lacks at least a bit of what the best in the genre have to offer I would say tile management is not exactly thrilling or something I want to engage with between my runs. I would say this game is good fun. Worth a buy for huge fans of the genre. I would too say though for those looking to get into the rogue like genre of games there are likely better spots to either jump in, or even expand catalogs for gamers without a history of playing dozens of rogue likes already.

Very addictive but repetitive game, chill and fun to play. Some class are more interesting or creative than others. I got all achievements in 35h

A quick verdict is that Ball x Pit is pure addictive genius. It features a deep sphere build system that will keep you thinking about it even when you're doing other things. But beware: if you don't buy into the 'farm mechanic' and the game's pace, the gameplay loop might tire you out before you even reach the final floor."

don't read the paid reviews - this game is completely RNG and unfair and unfun. The first two levels are easy peasy and feel rewarding (only so you don't return it on steam). after the first two runs you will die on most runs simply because you cannot dish out damage fast enough. it is slow as molasses. majority of the gameplay involves literally standing as close as you can to a wall of enemies and throwing balls at them so that they bounce back into your hand (catching balls increases fire rate). you will lose if you don't roll good items (3/4 of the time), and it feels completely unfair. all the characters play almost identical. did I mention it's slow as molasses? the only time enemy attacks are difficult to dodge is when you're playing on 3x speed and there is 20 enemies shooting and 50 balls bouncing everywhere so its impossible to tell what's going on. most of the time you just cannot dish out damage fast enough and you get killed by the timer. how does this get such high reviews? I feel duped. ugh.
oh - and its buggy too. one run the game got completely stuck and I had to alt-tab and close it and restart. also, it stopped detecting one of the trigger buttons on my xbox controller; controller was fine 5 minutes later when I was replaying silksong.
