It’s Donna Kelce, aka Travis Kelce’s mom and Swift’s future in-law, who is really the captivating central figure of the (delicious and addicting-as-ever) new season’s start. .... Several times, I found myself involuntarily leaping up from my seat and cheering, like a reality-TV-obsessed Jack-in-the-box. Dare I say, this is shaping up to be the best Traitors season yet?

The episode introduced a few twists that I won’t spoil, but may rankle Baking Show purists. There’s an elimination surprise that I enjoyed so much that I, again, unsurprisingly, teared up. And a shake-up in how the technical challenge is conducted made me raise an eyebrow. Mostly, though, I forgot how much I don’t just enjoy this show, but maybe even need it.

The three-part series, as its title suggests, dutifully exalts the “American Prince.” But through insightful interviews with friends, journalists, and family members, it’s also a reminder that the Golden Boy of Camelot was a human—and a complicated one, at that.

Much of these first few episodes have the patter of a classic SATC episode, more so than previous seasons of AJLT. .... When the show works, it’s because it nails the exploration about what happens to our relationships with our friends, our lovers, and ourselves as we get older.

Hacks is now back for Season 4, and is unrelenting. The jokes are vicious. The relationships between its characters are toxic. It’s breathtaking television.

It’s a failure at both being particularly instructive and at giving us any glimpse into the “real” Meghan—let alone any sort of personableness or starpower that we’ve, for whatever reason, been deprived of seeing. It’s not entertaining or revelatory.

So The Baldwins gives us all the content we could want from the show. It doesn’t run from the drama; in fact, it engages with it head on. Is that a noble thing? I don’t know. But, and perhaps against my better judgement, it’s certainly entertaining.

Technically speaking, Max’s new medical drama The Pitt is not an ER sequel. Spiritually speaking—and, more importantly, in the fantasy world of ER superfan Kevin Fallon—it absolutely is a sequel. And, when viewed as such, I think it is way more gratifying to watch.

It is almost unspeakably refreshing to discover the next great show. With FX’s The English Teacher, which premieres Sept. 2, the joy is twofold: The knowledge that the new comedy series is objectively, undeniably great, but also the realization—and ensuing comfort—that the sensibility and humor is directly for me.

This week’s season premiere, which introduced Kish and this new era of Top Chef, comforted that the show’s new host and new vibes would still feel every bit like the show we’ve loved for 20 seasons.
