While the series falter in the character development of the supporting cast, the overall plot intrigue still had me hooked. The character work by Saif and Navaaz was exemplary. The looming threat of an impending doomsday already has me craving for season 2

With Bryan Fuller on its helm, I expect only great things out of the series. A beautiful medley of psychedelic visuals and phenomenal acting, this series is going to be a blast to watch each week. With a pedigree of the cast (So much street cred here), I don't see them doing wrong. But I do believe the people who are not familiar with Bryan's work might feel a little alienated at first; and to those people I say - stick through it if you want a truly fantastic overall experience. I can definitely see this show becoming my new Hannibal.

Let me get two things straight 1. The writing is amazing. It's funny and dark as hell. 4 episodes in, and I am thoroughly in love with the story. 2. The miscast is visible. And I mean it's visible. The writing keeps things good; but on some instances, you really do end up wishing if only it were someone else cast as the leads. [PS. I can't help but wonder how absolutely amazing it would have been if it were Nathan Fillion who was cast as the male lead.]

So... here is what I gathered from the first episode. It had parts of both good and bad. Some of the scenes and re-imaginings were new and felt fun (while never breaking new ground),while there were also those frustratingly bad (read - cliche) classic CW scenes and situations sprinkled throughout as well. I predict that at it's absolute best, the season might peak to a 7.7; but if things start getting more and more CW-ish, it would get really bad (really fast) indeed. I hope enough character development and world building has happened by the time the comic book novelty wears off. Either way, am pretty sure I will stay till atleast the end of the season.

Just finished the first episode, and i will say this - I am impressed with what they showcased. Pretty much every single character on the show is a piece of **** (at lest so far). And if you are someone who only likes relatable or good willed characters, don't waste your time with even the pilot. Your will hate it. But, for the rest.... give it a shot.

Good God this show is laugh out loud funny. Hope more people give the show a shot so that we can get more seasons of this. But don't watch this show thinking this is just a modern family clone. Give it a shot and you will most certainly fall in love with it.

Just watched episode 2. Gotta say, her and John Oliver's show are hands down the best late night shows right now. Although the first episode was a bit off for me (But still enjoyable), episode 2 was a perfect 10 for me.

The amazing use of symbolism is what makes the show awesome. The ex's boyfriend becomes ****, the homely date becomes a troll, the sadness from the loss of a relationship seems like the weather is always bad, and finally an introverts elation when he asks a girl out for the first time. Finally a show that COULD become my new 'Arrested Development'.
