This game should be taught in schools. I don't know how else to put into words just how good this game is and how imperative it is for the history of video games.
I don't know. I really don't know. This game reminds me of left over pizza. It isn't great. But if you're hungry and a little bit drunk it pretty much is a five star meal. I guess what I'm saying is this isn't overall a great game. But if you love Medieval Warfare and large scale battles with engaging and addicting combat then it could be right up your alley. Hell, if you're drunk you might even love it.
Abhorrent stuff. From the bland gameplay to the cringe romance options. The graphics are the only saving grace. If only I enjoyed or even wanted to look at this world. Oh and incredibly offensive to boot. Save your money and spend it on a game that deserves it.
A beautifully woven story of friendship, romance, lineage and betrayal set amongst one of the most immersive worlds the Final Fantasy universe has ever offered us. The characters make you question whether things are ever Black & White. Perhaps everything is just a shade of grey depending on the lighting. I've never felt more divided on what constitutes justice. Without giving away any of the story just know that this game will linger in the recesses of your mind and morality for years to come. Oh, and the combat and job systems are absolute perfection. Enjoy!
Playing this game has injected me with a dose of serotonin that I have been on a frantic, decade long, search for ever since I was 10 years old playing Final Fantasy X for the first time. I thought that as the years went by, maybe that nostalgic sense of euphoria upon discovering a masterpiece **** for the first time was perhaps not as intense as I thought I had remembered it to be all those years ago. Oh no. I was so wrong. It's just as potent as ever and it turns out I just hadn't played a video game good enough to awaken it in decades. Clair Obscur is a spiritual experience. Rediscover what made you fall in love with games all over again.
metacritic changes my review for this game everyday so i have to continuously update it. which i will do. this game is terrible. the combat is repetitive. the dialogue is abhorrent. the pacing is atrocious. the graphics are cartoonish. i really dot know what else to say about this title other than the fact that no one should buy it. beware of bioware from now on and in the future (if they do not go bankrupt from this)
Sure, the combat could be better. Sure, the junction system can be annoying. Sure, the GF cut scenes can be repetitive. But you want to talk about a story...? My god, this is the game that made me fall in love with video games. The cast in this epic are the most endearing and fully realized characters that you may ever have the pleasure of coming across. From Squall to Quistis to Seifer to Rinoa to Headmaster Cid, I can't think of an ensemble more engrossing than this one. They draw you in unsuspectingly and before you know it every single one of them matters to you more than you ever anticipated. Even the side characters of Balamb, Galbadia, Deling City, Timber & more, feel like fully fleshed out people existing within this concentrated universe with their very own personalities, dreams, hopes, concerns and I suppose most importantly, loves. Because when the dust settles on this magnificent title... you'll realize that it was a love story all along... and perhaps the best one you've ever had the honor of witnessing. Nay... not witnessing... being a part of.
Probably the worst attempt Bethesda has ever delivered. From the characters to the dialogue to the illusion that our choices actually impact gameplay in any meaningful way... every note Bethesda plays in this tune falls flat. After the hype and decade long wait this latest title feels like a disappointment in every sense of the word and I'll be honest... it makes me hesitant to even get excited for Elder Scrolls 6. Hopefully they learn from this and return to their sensational form of the early 2010s.
The combat and side missions can become extremely repetitive but the well-written story, extensive character creator and pulsating soundtrack more than make up for a few small gripes I have with the game, overall. If you have even the slightest infatuation with cyberpunk style and enjoyed the movie Blade Runner, then this game will be right up your alley and well worth the money spent.
If you aren't really a gamer and you only play ONE video game in your entire life... make it this one. This is more than a video game. This is art crafted by an artist with an obsessive passion for a muse that has entirely consumed them... in the best way possible.
Thoroughly enjoyable for its combat, difficulty, character designs, atmosphere and unbelievably good soundtrack... However, to say that the story is a bit lacking is more than fair here.
The entire ambience created throughout the settings, characters and infamous radio stations of this post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland are reason enough for every gamer to play this from start to finish at least once. Then you add the revolutionary combat and well... just grab a Nuka-Cola... set back... and enjoy this masterpiece.
A masterpiece in every sense of the word. The choices you make have NEVER mattered more than they do in this sprawling epic featuring some of the most memorable characters and voice acting performances you will ever hear. For any fan of Dungeons and Dragons growing up, this is pure ecstasy.
