The art is amazing. Each dimension has it's own art style and and alot of effort has gone into these. And how these art styles mix when the beings from different dimensions share the same space. Two teen super spiders and their core family get the majority of the movies attention and love. Like over half the movie is devoted to these two and their families and this is a very long movie, almost 2 hours 20 minutes. It's well done for the most part at least. Despite that, neither Spider Hero is shown to have the Spiderman compassion even for "foes" I've seen in other Spiderman media in their hero work, just stopping anyone from breaking laws even when it would have been better if sometimes they just stayed out of it. Being a Spider hero in this seems more like a police like obligation and not done to genuinely help people. In fact some battles cause significant property damage despite the initial crime being petty, like way more property damage than the amount of money being stolen from a ATM, and Miles doesn't even seem to care. None of them seem to consider how they might help beyond detaining the "bad guy". Less than a handful of other characters than those two and family get any significant amount of flesh out though some do have interesting characters anyway. A third character gets their backstory briefly shown for a few minutes, the rest get almost nothing or nothing at all. I wish the character love and run time had been spread around a bit more. But some do have unique interesting characters to match their unique interesting art styles despite their lack of backstory. I really enjoyed the Indian (nation, not native american) dimensional world and character was fun in its small dose. Also the contrarian british character with the barely understandable accent and magazine cut out art was interesting as well. So if I liked the art and the characters,(aside from the lack of hero compassion) why rate it low? The plot is terrible. Plot doesn't really even kick in till past half way but when it does... ugh. It is difficult to explain without spoilers but I will try. Rather than call it "spider-verse" or even "multiverse" it should be called "metaverse"("meta" means for something to be self referential, like a conversation about conversing with people talking about said conversation). To give a example, Miles calls someone robbing a ATM a "villain of the week", which the person finds offense at. Not at being called a "villain", which would make sense, how is someone a "villain" because they stole a bit of money from a ATM to get by having little other choice? No, its offense at being considered a minor character in the story. Like the story is meta-talking about it being a story and making meta comparison to other Spider hero sources. The plot is about how the plot is suppose to go verses how the character want it to go, they even call it "canon", like official plot canon Like the authors are reminding you that this is just a story and that story is suppose to go a certain way. Also they kind of make out average Spider heroes to sort of be villains.

. . . The two main live action adult actors, acting is so atrocious, it really made me cringe horribly. I know these turds are famous actors that have been in other movies (can't remember names) but they do a horrible job in this one anyway (don't remember other movies) . . . The very young child actor, while no where near good, at least outshines these clowns. The gross out script and dumb writing make it all the more painful to watch. . . . The voice acting for the animated part of the movie is much better, mostly. The plot consists of mostly overused buddy cop tropes . . . . In some ways the movies worst sin is being incredibly misleading about how anything biologically works. Like a majority of it, very wrong and misleading. Some can be forgiven because it's entertainment. But people would assume at least part of the movie was based on how things really work and that's bad. . . . . The worst offender is how the movie portrays fever, The movie says fever is directly caused by the infecting organism (bacteria and virus's don't multiple in this movie though...) and that fever past 107f will kill you (and bring you back to life if it drops down again) This is utter BS. You can have a fever up to 107.5 before there is any danger to the brain. Also the body won't just keep getting hotter, normally it never goes that high because fevers are cause by the body to fight the infection, they are normally good to have! Bacteria and virus's don't function as well at fever temps and the immune system functions better at fever temps. . . . . The body has to work hard to get fever temps, aiding it in getting to those temps reduces the stress on your heart, lungs etc.that would have to work harder to get to the temps it needs. If the sick person feels as though they are cold, and is not sweating, that means the body feels it needs to be hotter, help them out. Give them blankets, hot or at least warm water to drink etc. Also try to avoid aspirin, tylenol/acetaminophen, naproxen, and ibuprofen, which is pretty much all the over the counter pain relievers (these drugs have alot in common in how they work and belong in the same class of drug) Many "cold and flu medicines" have this, so avoid them. (drugs for losing phlegm etc. are fine, just get them on their own) There is a trade off where sometimes the only way to reduce pain is to reduce fever, but even a small amount of temp drop can help considerably with pain. If you or a child is in misery, try using a ice pack on their head (with cloth barriers so it doesn't cool too much, maybe a gel pack that was refrigerated instead of frozen or a cool damp cloth on the forehead or temple) first to reduce the heads temp which may help alot with pain without compromising the benefits of a fever too much. Keep in mind, the more you reduce a fever, the longer it'll take the sick person to fight off the disease. . . . This movie perpetuates the dangerous myth that fevers are bad. That alone is enough to rate it badly, but it's also generally bad in the entertainment way too

Good character development, world building, nice visuals. - - - - Interesting comments about war and sharing resources. - - - - I might have rated this more like 8 or 9 but a overall 6.4 rating made me rate it higher because it would be a shame if more people didn't get a chance to appreciate this movie because they got mislead by a lower score.

This movie hits many good notes. Good acting, decent plot, light exploration of more complex social issues, not many noticeable plot holes. Some awesome actions scenes in the middle (like no mans land, just woman's) A few parts of the ending weren't as great for me. Also the movie farms out some stereotypes, but not too bad. Of course Wonder Woman is in a one piece bikini like the comic book character is, but it's not too bad, and stuff hangs over it and that's not made a big deal of. Definitely worth watching Wonder Woman. - - - If you liked this movie and in general, avoid watching it's sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, not the worst movie (not good either) a huge let down from the first Wonder Woman.

Let's start with the good. The background is beautiful. Characters are warn and unique, a joy to watch. (how this movie even managed a 3 from me) Character art and music is serviceable. But the plot is utter trash. Every point of the plot both big and small is either nonsensical, contrived, or somehow both at the same time! (and a large amount of it is nonsense) Often the way a plot is contrived is getting Kiki to act inexplicably stupid, but it's contrived in many other very obvious ways too. I struggle to find any plot point of any significance at all of this that even is a little OK So watch it for the beauty and warm characters and if you can turn off your brain (which I was not able to do) you can enjoy this. Kids can be better at this than adults so maybe show it to little kids. For others, the horrible practically nonexistent it's so bad plot will make them feel like they are losing brain cells. If I were to give all examples of plot issues, I'd basically also be "spoiling" the movie from beginning to end, not that such should matter to someone who doesn't give a **** about plot and a movie that doesn't have one. I forced myself to watch the entire movie because I am a big fan of many other Studio Ghibli movies and wanted to give a complete review. Like if the plot started working at any point at all in the movie... It never did. Please don't down-vote my review just because you enjoyed this movie.

I've watched and loved many Studio Gbili movies. Plus positive reviews of this movie. So with high expectations going in sustained at first by the first half hour being pleasant and the art is beautiful. The next part of the movie is gruelingly depressing including people being unreasonably stupid to keep the movie on it's senseless trajectory, including at least two inexplicable timeline resets that make you scream what just happened?!? Ending in a deeply depressing. If you are like me, you will feel like your mind was just **** I got such a headache now.
