Funny! Story! With! Amazing! Twists!
Visual novels are not my cup of tea, but I just had to check out Phoenix Wright’s shenanigans. I’m glad I did. The replayibility is definitely 0, but I’m looking forward to trying out the other Ace Attorney games.
The only thing weighing it down is the “too cinematic” approach of the writers. Amazing visuals, fun side characters. A creepy villain, with a fumbled backstory. It is so close to perfection! I hope the next game will fix these small bumps in the road.
I liked this one a lot more than Metroid Prime 2. It has a epic premise, and it delivers on it. Amazing soundtrack, with a fun corruption mechanic, that pays off at the end.
Now’s your chance to be a Big Shot!
Please give this a shot, don’t read the reviews.: The more you know about the plot/the characters, the less you have to discover for yourself. This is a once in a lifetime game.
This game is FUN. No more, no less.
Innovation is not a rare component of Nintendo games, and I feel like this one streamlined how simple and lighthearted an RPG can be. In an age of FF and Dragon Quest, this truly was an outlier in it’s setting. Without a complex story, it only focuses on pure fast and funny gameplay. The cutscenes are beautiful, and the endgame is surprising. This remaster is perfect for people who want a quick and easy segway into RPGs, for all ages.
This game did not age well, but it still has it’s fun moments.
The premise, lore/worldbuilding, and concepts are new, exciting, and fresh. Light/dark ammo is a cool spin, and travelling to the dark dimension gives it’s own sense of otherworldliness. The bosses are in a weird place, as some of them are really enjoyable, while the others are SO frustrating. Not even hard, just frustrating, which is even worse.
Unfortunately the backtracking is tedious, somehow they messed up this core feature of Metroid games.
Witnessing everything for the first time was definitely worth the play, but because of some frustrating elements I will not do the usual Hard difficulty run again.
Triangle Strategy is a great modern take of the genre. The characters are realistic, and the tone is refreshingly serious. This game’s story HOOKED me. I speedran through it, and got one of the four endings. I liked it so much that I’m sure I’ll do another run in New Game+.
I love it, my significant other loves it, my brother loves it. This game is good for every audience, even for me, and I don’t like casual games as much. I easily spent 150 hours decorating, and I’m not even close to finishing my island. I hope they will return to the old formula in the future.
What the game lacks in, makes up for it in the final act.
Everything comes together. Mario Odyssey got critiqued for it’s collectibles, but this game goes above and beyond to do exactly the same thing with them. If you didn’t like Odyssey, you might hate this game. But, myself included, if you loved it, you will LOVE DK Bananza!!
This game welcomed me to the fandom with open arms. It’s still my favourite Metroid game. The boss fights are amazing, and the final fight showcases how well made the control scheme works. Samus’s movement flows so well, they completely overhauled how she interacts with the world. And to adress the elephant in the room, the E.M.M.I. are cool, creepy, and fit in the environment perfectly.
My first venture into the 3D Metroid world, and I’m so glad this game exists. It aged really well, and deserved the remaster. It’s cheap, it’s fun, it’s epic, and it’s so clever.
My favourite 3D platformer, with amazing level design and crazy good movement control. Pushes creative boundaries and Mario standards. The only thing missing, that would make this game a 10/10, if it would had better boss fights. They are not as memorable and difficult as I had hoped, but fortunately they are pretty fun as well.
