Dragon Age: Inquisition9

Completely spoiler free review What a great game, I really did enjoy my time with it. A very interesting story that keeps you intrigued and wanting to come back to it when you're not playing it. Completed it in about 60 hours, with most side missions done in the first half of the game and none really touched with the second half due to being overleveled. So yes, game is a bit imbalanced in that part. Characters are unique and very well done with great voice acting. Economy is a fundamental part of any game in my mind and in terms of what you can buy and do with the money you acquire is astonishing, which gives you a reason to loot (and there is a lot in this game, I can say to you now, if you do not like looting I can practically guarantee this is not yur game) I had a lot of problems with it to run in cutscenes with frequents CTD (I had to play the game in a **** graphical setup for it not to crash) and believe me it wasn't because my hardware was getting stressed, not with a i7 2600K overclocked and a GTX 780 6GB of vram. Cutscenes tended to chop and lag, but when it got to gameplay wise it was fine. So can't really comment graphics wise due to not be playing at full settings, although I can comment about the hair I know that was rubbish it looked worst than straw no matter if you run that 'thing' at max or not nothing is saving that. Love the feeling of importance it gives you later on which I consider what it's all about in a progression based RPG. Combat is mmo type, I was a mage (which fitted also around the story, strongly recommended) and didn't mind holding down buttons to cast spells although I can see it would maybe be worse by being a warrior/tank type. They could of done more with the relevance of letting a character like you or not, even though you get it constantly on the bottom right of your screen e.g ''Cassandra disapproves'' , ''Vivienne slightly approves'' etc it doesn't really make any real changes to the game in any shape way or form, the only real thing it's really there for is for romancing someone, which, if you play as a heterosexual male I may add, you have a very limited number of people that'll be willing to romance you no matter if you get to their full approval or not! So major flaw there. But apart from those issues and the most of the side missions being very dull and genreic, I really enjoyed my time with the game and I consider that it's not getting the credit it should be getting for the game it is.

Cities: Skylines8
Sep 6, 2015
Note: I have played the first version that includes no real patches for the game, so I might be listing problems that aren't there anymore because they have been fixed. Great graphics for a city builder, looks like a game from a triple AAA team although you can see the holes from them not being one at the time of creation, the major flaw being the lack of buildings or maps in the game. Enjoyed it for a solid 15-20 hours but ended up with a great amount of cash and the only real thing you were doing is just expanding, sounds like a weired criticism but I think were I'm trying to get to here is that it could of done with a bit more challenge in it or some events that changed the theme a bit. Also there was no real tutorial whatsoever and had to figure stuff out by yourself, most of it was pretty intuitive but I feel they could of tried to explain or at least have a text in the options or help section for the public transport which can get pretty complex and results in trial and error most of the time. You feel a bit lonely in the game because you never really hear anything from anyone, no objectives to do no nothing, only a stupid little bird on top that you couldn't remove till a future patch. It's ok I guess, I feel that if it wasn't for the major downfall of the Simcity game back in 2013 this game wouldn't of received half of the critical acclaim it had and still is receiving. Hopefully with the money they get they can create an even better game in the future and give some competitivness in the market for the genre which I will receive open handed.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt9

Played 80+ hours of it. It's a great game, tons of content, solid graphics, great combat and story line is interesting. Now, if you are looking for an open world RPG in the style of skyrim or fallout, this will not be it. Most NPC's you can't talk to and they all have the same faces and bodies, they must be about 20 general created npc in the game (by general I mean the ones you cannot talk to, which are the most) so you quickly get tired of seeing the same people no matter where you go. Money is not very usefull in the game either, that is a problem with a lot of games nowadays which really pisses me off because I tend to be the sort of player that doesn't stop looting and ends up with a massive amount of cash and you can't do anything with it! The only real usefull thing you can buy is Maps that give you locations on the map, and they're generally cheap, and one gwent card (if you're lucky). It's a very well polished game with some minor errors that could of been thought out off more. 9/10

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter6

They could of done so much more with the ending, pissed me off. Enjoyed my time with the game, about 4 hours till completion with having to stop and look at playtrough on youtube in 2 cases to be able to continue because I was stuck on a puzzle. They do great with the intro some nice puzzles and story keeps you playing trough, a shame the ending of it is just that, SPOILER WARNING* a story created by a kid, even you were created, leaves you with a feeling of unnocomplishment in all what you have done trough out the entire game, what a shame. Beautifull graphics, had to activate the centre crosshair and put down the FOV because I was getting quite a lot of motion sickness though, still feel a bit weired now (have just finished the game btw). I wouldn't generally recommend this game to people, they're uglier but surely better games out there.

Dragon Ball: Xenoverse7
Sep 5, 2015
Did I enjoy my time with the game? Yes I did, I believe that is the most important question you have to ask when you're reviewing a videogame therefore I would recommend it. Now, not to everybody, so here is where you try and decide if you fit in this category or not: I would recommend this if: -You like the series or have watched/played dragon ball sometime in your life. -You are the kind of player who buys a game and plays that game for a long time till completion -If you inted to play this online or/and have a friend that plays it I strongly recommend you to buy this, there is online so you can fight with other people as well, not the same against someone you know though. A few notes of how I played it: -Played it offline, never once connected to the dragon ball servers. Side notes to you to keep account on. Design choices favoured online play, it's not a game focused to really play singleplayer all the time. They could of greatly done a better game (mainly the story, only involves of jumping to fight in to fight, yes it is a fighting game but I remember the dragon ball tenkaichi 2 I believe it was on PS2 which was the last dragon ball I played since this one and that had a kind of open world game with little mini games in it), you do not have an open world game in this game, you have a kind of a city divided in three parts (loading screens) with players there like an mmo kind of stile and some npc as well. Mentor system is a complete failure, the idea is not that bad but the execution is horrible, you won't mind this if you play the game for 100+ hours though, afterall, it's more content to complete I guess. Combat is fun and challenging for the most part, difficulty is pretty high and requires you to farm quite a lot with some secondary missions called 'parallel quests', thing is the difficulty is rather imbalanced during the main story line with some character or missions being to difficult for what/who it is at that point in time and can also be fairly easy like the last boss at the end game for example. I must of spent about 30 hours with this game, there is still is a fair amount of things for me to do {got the SEASON PASS btw should of noted that out from the start, 3 DLC, to be honest they don't add much to the game, just some characters to play in battles and maybe if you want some parallel quests although that comes with disadvantatges not using your character ''no rewards just XP and money ((zeni))' ) and some content in the way of more battles with no real story behind it whatsoever} It's a fighting game, so the replayabilty is ludicrous can spend thousands of hours in the game if you wish, not content wise but surely just playing agaianst other people. I've finished the main story being lvl 51 so to go up to 80 or 100 if you intend to buy DLC. You can also create more characters and level the up as well. Ok, next i'll list the cons I found with the game so if you find here something that really breaks it for you there is where I would stop recommending it to someone: -Story is crap, has no logic behind it whatsoever, voice acting is trough the floor and you're character cannot talk for some reason which really pis*** me off when they ask him questions and he just pulls these stup** faces and gestures. -Any sort of humor they try and pull of is pulling me out of the game step by step. -Voice actors, oh dear... Your character does not talk for some reason, they ask him questions and he just pulls these stupid faces. -It's an inmature game, it's obviously focused to teenagers or youngsters who are currently watching dragon ball. (I'm talking the main story line here as it's most of what I played and is the only real content it has outside of the combat) -Camera is quite awfull, I played this with a gamepad and I had a lot of trouble trying to show the A X Y square instead of some weired numbers, also had a lot of trouble trying to run the damn game offline, it keep getting stuck on a loading screen after each fight saying loading to leaderboards when I wasn't even connected to the servers! solution was playing steam in offline mode, very very annoying. I had fun with it and I'll be looking for the next dragon ball game, hopefully with better design choices and a more balanced game overall.

Football Manager 20157
Aug 31, 2015
Not worth getting if you already own FM 2014 or any of the previous ones, only realy reason I keep getting it is for the updated squads every year and because I'm a huge football fan. Highly recommended if you haven't got a football manager, and essential if you like football and you haven't got one.

Enjoyed my time with it. I wouldn't agree that it has a great learning curve however it's all pretty intuitive and easy to jump in as what I remember. Have to agree that I played this about 5 or 6 years ago but it has stuck in my memory with me having a great time with it. I would recommend this game if you like economy in your games, and basic strategy. I enjoyed my time with it and will reminisce gladly over it, happy purchase.

Entertaining, that's how I would explain this game if I had one word and one word only. Love the voice of the narrator, he is the all of the game, if it wasn;t for him the game wouldn't even be called a game. Had a good 2 hours with it.

My major criticism with this game is that it starts slow, it continues slow, and it ends slow. Yes, ok to play along with hearing a podcast, youtube or tv. But you always are expecting that the game is going to get better, but it doesn't. First truck you get is about as good as the best truck you can get in the game, there is hardly no difference. Played about 6 hours of the game, I had to use the cheat engine to advance in game to see if it changed, thank god I did. 6/10 and I'm being generous.

One word, genius. Most simple concept, most simple controlls = most creative game yet. It has set its own genre. It's incredible that a game with no real objective is one of the most succesive to not say the most games to date.

Dying Light8

Beautifull landscape graphics, the sea didn't have any motion whatsoever though, it looked like a copy and paste picture, didn't move, very weired and took me out of the immersion a lot of times. It actually looked so akward I'm wondering if it was a bug. It's a game that doesn't take your hand, it's pretty hard and died numerous times. I enjoyed my time with the game, I did all the side missions in Harran which gave me far to much money way to early in the game, a bit imbalanced there. Found that two hand weapons or weapons with that are slow to swing are underpowered compared to the faster ones, you can get an ability to 360 with a two hand weapon which helps but the cost of stamina per swing doesn't justify using one compared to a quick sword by example. (*Minor Spoilers in next paragraph) Found that side missions should of had specified which were more essential like the witch woman (which I didn't get the reward till finishing the game) and missed on an essential potion trough out the game which would of made it much easier, as well as the dynamite one which gives you the ability to trough grenades (wich I also got at the end of the story). Did over 40 other side missions and the rewards weren't nearly as good, mostly just gives you a worthless blueprint and some cash. Also my major criticism at the game is getting the grap hock so late in the game, and I did all the side missions! Can't imagine for someone who didn't do any?! They might not of even unlocked it by the time they finished the game, major flaw. Side mission were quite boring, just fetch this for me quests. Looting is not rewarding enough, especially late game. Plot was great not the best way executed but the concept was great. Combat wasn't the best, but really enjoyed the animations of slicing zombies up, greatly animated. In general, I enjoyed my time with the game, parkour is very good, and enjoyed the leveling system although I think some abilities could of been there from the start of the game. Would I recommend this game? Yes, definitely, even though I listed so many negatives is because I wanted it to be a GOTY game, unfortunately it won't be but hey, best game I played this year so far..?!!! Spent roughly 30 to 35 hours with non stop looting and 90% of side missions. Played it solo but think it would be better with a friend in coop. 8.5/10
