The only positive aspects of this movie are the two scenes involving the demonic nurses and when the audience witnesses pyramid head going through the asylum. Oh, and there is one extremely disturbing scene involving a plastic bag on the head of a mannequin. Literally everything else is painfully awful. Both fans and newcomers are going to be repulsed (and not in the good way).

Much like Transformers, you can only enjoy this movie if you can settle with solid special effects, boatloads of bullets, severed limbs and explosions, and awful characters and horrendous script. And causal nudity. Nothing more then a guilty pleasure, through and through.

As an avid Horror enthusiast who tries to see the good any movie i watch, i was appalled by the time the credits rolled. Really, there's nothing here worth even saying, "Well, this part was kinda good." It was all awful.

After seeing perhaps the two greatest POV horror films (The Blair Witch Project & Rec.), i can't jump the bandwagon and state that Grave Encounters is a great POV film. While there are its moments with successful execution, there's plenty more where it falls flat.

It escapes me how awful a zombie movie came from a director who started the entire movement of Zombie films and made some of the greatest in its genre. I honestly can't think of a reason to watch Survival of the Dead. Romero's longtime fans can't even defend this one.

If you're looking for a meaningful story and characters that evolve and all that Academy award winning stuff, look elsewhere. For adrenaline junkies and action fans alike not giving a d*** about story, The Expendables 2 delivers with high octane stunts, vicious gunfights, and explosions. Lots of explosions.

There are plenty of flaws to this Dark Shadows, such as uneven plot and character usage. But, Depp plays a most excellent Barnabas Collins and is a vampire that is not afraid to use his very being and powers to get what he wants. Something few vampire movies successfully utilize. Fans of the TV show will undoubtedly be upset with what a two hour film tries to sum up in a thousand episode television show. But for someone new to the series as a whole, i walked away pleasantly surprised and charmed with what Burton and Depp were able to pull off.

Super 8 is another blockbuster from director JJ Abrams (Star Trek), and does deliver with funny characters, great special affects, and slick set pieces. An overall fun and enjoyable movie about the world we live(d) in, and the veil of secrecy/transparency that so often tries to cloak it.

The finest work by the Cohen Brothers, No Country for Old Men is brutal, violent, truthful, and one hell of a ride. The acting is beyond superb, the editing and cinematography are some of the best I have ever seen, and Javier Bardem is the new Hannibal Lector as the film's nightmarish villain, Anton Chigurh. For those negative reviews you see (notice only on the user column, mind you), they are all from people that are looking for something directed by Michael Bay and require no thought process whatsoever. Even if the ending requires some out-of-theatre interpretation, see this movie. It's one that going down with some of the best in film history.

An incredible adaption of Clive Barker's work ranking right up there with the first Hellraiser, this horror flick is exactly what gore hounds want; healthy helpings of dark blood and gore, a decent enough plot, and a professional level of polish that's rare to the industry.

There is only one fun element, one remotely enjoyable aspect about this film. I guarantee you that's all that you can call a 'positive aspect' of Battleship. And that's watching the guns fire on the actual warships. Which maybe takes up ten minutes of the film or so.

Rubber's whole vantage point rises from the "there's no reason" standpoint we so often ask in movies. And to be honest, it's a very good question regarding the plots of films. But after 30 minutes or so, the film's shine and rather interesting question wear right off and we're left with a questionable film that really does make us ask "why did we sit through all of that?"

There's a lot going on in Rango, some good, some bad, and come outright confusing. The good; the cinematography and action set pieces are absolutely astounding. There are funny moments, for young and old, as well. The bad; you can argue that the plot is more or less nonexistent and was probably thought up in perhaps 2 minutes. Poor execution of said plot as well. The Confusing; There is some language that seems more orientated towards older audiences, such as a few mild swear words. And for a movie that was supposed to be directed towards children, perhaps not suitable. But, to older viewers, the dialogue is a refreshing bit instead of "Ah Crud," or "Heck!"

It's rare to find a film that takes chances. Everyone wants to play it safe. But taking risks may result in being something completely new, something no one else will be able to measure for quite a bit. Buried does just that and succeeds. Directed with a page out of **** Buried is a slow and subtle burn, gaining slow, painful momentum as the end draws ever nearer. The plot does not disappoint. Do yourself a favor; watch this film and become engrossed in the reality and claustrophobia of being buried.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Transformers has it's pros and cons, there's no one who can logically argue that. The pro's being superb editing, lethal action sequences, and plenty of water cooler moments. In short, anytime a robot is onscreen slicing or shooting, the movie is a great time. The con's, on the other hand, are far more pervasive to serious movie critics. Shia Labeouf serves as nothing more then a snot nosed punk with no relevance to the story in any coherent sense, with his costars doing little more then delivering one liners and doing nothing of significance. I'll even go as far to say that Michael Bay only has people acting in the film is that it would be too expensive to do a movie exclusively focusing on the transformers. The plot is simple and you know where its going and how it ends. but then again, i think the point of this film is to just try and enjoy the actions sequences. Bay's at least got that in spades.

This film is not one that tries to teach the moral lessons of law, punishment, whats right or wrong. The plot is supposed to be a straightforward affair. Judge Dredd's character does not change. He isn't supposed to. So instead of offering a lesson on what you believe is realistic/right/wrong, Karl Urban's Dredd embodies the executioner from the comics with all the unstoppable fury of a Juggernaut. For anyone who loved the comics, wants to see Judge Dredd for the character he really is, and can appreciate a well crafted and wonderfully done action flick with plenty of water-cooler moments, Dredd delivers.

A vicious and often bleak thriller involving time travel and telekinesis. To those who haven't seen the movie, it DOES sound like an awful concept. However, both Justin Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis deliver with solid acting, a script that has believable (and fun) twists and turns, interesting moral dilemas, and amazing special affects. The only bad aspect of this movie i can think of as of this writing is if you put wayyy too much thought into the time travel mechanics. So just sit back and enjoy the violence and cacophony that is Looper.
