a fun sized short little zelda clone - for the most part very easy - amusing characters, nice animation and graphics - only real caveat is how short it is despite the price - if you see it on sale absolutely grab it
a zany sovietpilled fps with a lots of fun ideas and quirks - good combat and gameplay - feels hard until you figure out the wine is your first aid kit - the old lady statue part genuinely scared me good job - recommended
they maxed out on the graphics - only if they had spent more time on the gameplay - the enemies are all sponges, your guns don't feel like guns - when an enemy runs out of hp they wait for that glory kill thing that feels like a copout and gets old very quickly - just what is the point of having a physics engine if you only use it for ragdolls and barrels?
the imps still act like they are throwing baseballs instead of fireballs - that is one thing iD insists on since doom3 overall the game is fine as craftmanship goes and well optimised - solid in every way - but also one of the most boring combat I've seen in a fps game - solid but boring - in the end it was a good game to show off what your gpu could do in 2016
clearly a lot of work went into this game, into the graphics, the world and characters - and is full of clever ideas and very stylish.. but the detail porn is simply overwhelming: I cannot see a damned thing o_o
brilliant homage of the oldschool EGA shareware platformers;
my only nitpick is with the jumping physics that use an even older method and have linear velocity;
a classic game with some flaws; great grandaddy of rts games;
all the basics are here - expect the proper pathfinding;
the ai is a bit cheaty when it comes to the wizards - they are very quick on the draw - something blizzard also insisted on in starcraft;
it perfects the formula of the first warcraft game and is the blueprint of all rts games since then;
a true classic; one of the reasons why we let blizzard get away with things still; alas it was only a downward slope from this;
probably the pinnacle of the rts genre or at least one of the greatest ones;
a good enough clone of the serious sam games;
with less weapon and even less enemy variety;
the variety is in their looks; the graphics are done well;
overall it's a varied experience - goes from great map design
to absolutely meh; the boss fights are impressive but not fun to play;
a fun medieval upgrade of doom; nothing more and nothing less;
enjoyable levels, weapons and enemies; a bit falls short from becoming a true classic but an enjoyable game overall
a weird expansion pack of heretic - the key card hunting is replaced by hidden switch hunting; there are positives with different characters and different playstyles; but overall the combat is oversimplified, lack of enemy variation and you spend most of your time hunting switches or looking at a walkthrough;
excellent claymation styled graphics; a fun story;
a modern version of the original doom;
a bit rough around the edges here and there
but overall an excellent game;
all the humour - all the fun;
a classic adventure game with all the flaws of classic adventure games;
flies under the radar so hard it might as well be a subway train
one of the great true classics; excellent fun;
the fan patches made it even better;
the best worms game in the franchise;
alas the single player missions don't make much sense
and mutliplayer is now just a ninja rope fan club;
a true classic; bringing robotron gameplay to fps games
and pioneer of a new subgenre;
excellent engine and fun characters;
often compared to doom but plays a bit differently
with strictly linear levels - you move arena to arena;
alas new fps games took all the wrong lessons from it (including it's sequels) - but it's influence is undeniable;
it was an excellent game while it lasted;
some flaws here and there but only nitpicks;
the word fresh comes to mind to describe it;
alas it was abandoned by Nintendo with the Wii U console itself;
a sad end for a fun and quirky game
fool me once: how could you?
fool me twice: I'm mad!
fool me a third time: you are officially that guy
and Sid Meier is officially that guy
an addicting game, humorous graphics
and yet it's not enjoyable one bit
you are not playing a game - you are playing a slot machine
disguised as a game
if that is your thing you will enjoy this
otherwise don't bother
diplomacy is useless, all the AI does is take over every unoccupied tile on the map even if it is worthless, you cannot have early transport ships and every siege weapon is utterly useless
this is random number generator the game - and the dice is weighted in the computer players favor
the best civ game you will play, an addactive experience but devoid of fun
game design wise it's an absolute mess - main negative is that there is a lot of waiting, units get more experience from the training room than fights, your imps are the most annoying creatures ever conceived; countless bugs; a fight between keepers always results in absolute chaos; hard to believe it was made with multiplayer in mind from the get go; yet despite all it's faults it still manages to be a lot of fun
single player campaign is an absolute delight and that is what my score for;
the regular multiplayer is a complex mess with too much micro
expect for the UMS maps the multi is just not worth it
an excellent if simple tactical rpg - great character design and fun fights - suffers from the usual rpg flaw where you need to know if a character is about to leave your party forever or you will lose all items given to them - sometimes I'm not sure if the game is trying to take itself seriously or embracing the comedy - and there are of course some bugs that never got fixed and potentially crash the game which prevents me from giving it a solid 10
the engine and character models are great: the graphics are still impressive even today - the gameplay however is the dissapointment of the century - a half baked half life clone, annoying sounds, enemies with simpler ai than doom1 and 2, useless guns that just don't feel right - the list goes on
the only good thing that ever came out of the doom 3 engine - a stunning game by all metrics - only a few complaints: levels are all linear - the respawning mechanism doesn't work that well: it still follows the old fps design where you need to quickload and quicksave all the time because the enemies do too much damage
a true masterpiece, story, gameplay, graphics, humor it's all there - only a few minor caveats with bugs here and there - the ai is very simple and just tries to rush you on later levels with overwhelming force
don't bother: it's not a game but sports - it's not made for people who want to have fun but those who want to win - plenty of effort went into the characters looks but the gameplay is all about who can be the biggest bastard, despite being in teams there is no teamwork whatsoever it's pure chaos - and it takes place always on the one single map - it's a shame: with a good single player campaign and more levels it could be easily a 10/10 - you cannot beat the price
the best game in the seires - a roguelite with pikmin - only complaint is that you need to play badly for it to be fun - yet once it clicks it becomes way too easy
a very relaxing and fun game - an user friendly version of railroad tycoon - negatives: the difficulty is artificial - on easy your rivals just wait minutes before starting and on harder they cheat and get extra resources (an old Sid Meier trademark from the Civ 1 days) - another negative is that the game lags whenever you are building the titular railroads and seem to lack optimization in this regard
a game that radiates cuteness and mischief - only negative thing is that it's just not much point replaying it - but of course you cannot beat the price
one of the better platformers out there it's main appeal is it's simplicity but the gameplay is well polished, the story is fun and the humor works well
only complaint: it's very short
it seemed to be a fun game and it didn't disappoint as far as zelda clones go this one is among the top
- great art
- good humor
- the twist in the story and the story overall was well thought out negatives:
- the bosses are underwhelming (often just scaled up versions of regular enemies)
- the story itself is short and there is a lot of required grinding overall a fun budget title that I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone footnote: I was also surprised at the end as I thought the game was made by a small team but according to the credits there was an army of devs also as a dev myself for the life of me I couldn't tell what the game is using a 2D physics library for
a fun game, only a few mistakes short of being perfect
- it's a stealth reboot - nintendo seems to insists on textboxes and slow transitions everywhere
- the doggo is a great and fun addition - but kind of ruins the point of the whole game - ditching being able to control multiple captains is also a letdown
- the night missions are not fun and just time wasters (also subjective)
overall I feel this game was not made for the fans of the previous games but was made with a new generation in mind who never heard of the pikmin before
Nintendo's netcode might be an even bigger mess than their Super Mario 64 collision code
sometimes people disconnect before the game even starts
a step down from previous splatoon games in every way
every level is made out of blocks and the hint of what are they are is only by the busy skyboxes
in salmon run you can get killed after the wave finishes
there is no quick way to get from the shops to the lobby and many similar annoying little details
a lot of effort went into the story, characters and graphics
but the rest of the game feels the previous two reused the gameplay itself is not fun, lacks polish and I just don't know how can anyone screw up pvp netcode this badly
I don't recommend buying this game digitally
find a physical copy and then you can at least get rid of it somehow
overall this game doesn't worth $60
it's a budget $20 title masquerading as an AAA title
