Goodbye to Language 3D10
Dec 3, 2014
'Goodbye to language' is a most beautiful and synaesthesic experience in cinema. Godard comes back. It's curious that a director 83 aged-old is the Cinema Avat-garde yet. It is like a Schoenberg's piece made in theatre.

The Tale of The Princess Kaguya10
Oct 19, 2014
"The Tale of the Princess Kaguya" is Isao Takahata's renaissance since disappointed "My Neighbors the Yamadas". A gorgeous, beautiful and classical folktale with particular Ghibli avant-garde sight. This film is a masterpiece, a Japanese delicate old painting that it's filmed-made.

American Hustle6
Feb 10, 2014
"American Hustle" offers us mixed sensations. I can't stop to think how would be this film if Scorsese had directed it. I think David O. Russell is overrated. Although cast ensemble is amazing. Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence are wonderful.

Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom5
Jan 24, 2014
This film made me cold and I'm so sorry because that. Mandela's death in last year it was a tragic event and I think that film is opportunistic. It seems a made-for-TV film. Idris Elba is great with Mandela role but makeup is unbelievable. Sorry, Mandela merits better films.

Frozen9
Jan 24, 2014
Disney is back with "Frozen". I'm very glad with Walt Disney Pictures because they are showing us that they're working hard with a renewed face. "Tangled", "Winnie the Pooh" and "Wreck-It, Ralph!" are truly jewels but "Frozen" is The Jewel. It's a perfect cyrcle, "Frozen" seems a Broadway musical. Now, I hope with Disney.

Pokémon: The Movie 20008
Dec 27, 2013
"Pokémon 2: The Power of One" is better than "Pokémon: The Movie". This second Pokémon film offers a great and passionate moments. Three legendary birds and submarine winged monster are main characters in this powerful movie. I think "Pokémon 2: The Power of One", "Pokémon 3: The Movie" and "Pokémon 7: Destiny Deoxys" are best films in Pokémon saga.

Heartbeats6
Dec 27, 2013
"Les amours imaginaires" provides a story that everyone knows. A love triangle intended as a bisexual story. Dolan is a good hipster, He offers a simple story deck with vintage and elegant confection. Props is good but it's not enough. Dolan is very young still. He needs to grow and he needs to be less hipster. "Heartbeats" is mixed but this is not bad. His next film, "Laurence Anyways" is better than "Les amours imaginaires" and "J'ai tué ma mère". I think that Dolan will be bette director in future.
Dec 27, 2013
Wreck-It Ralph8
Dec 27, 2013
Manichean characters are some typical things in Disney features but in "Wreck-It Ralph" tries to call into question this. Neither good people are so good neither bad people are so bad. "Tangled" is good, "Wreck-It Ralph" is better.
Nov 27, 2013
The Secret World of Arrietty7
Nov 27, 2013
Studio Ghibli is synonymous with magic, great fantasy and philosophical and inside strength. "Spirited Away" is best, "How's Moving Castle" is better and "Ponyo" is good. "The Secret World of Arrietty" is like "Ponyo", good film but it is short of vigour and it promises more than it gives. I think that this film, like "The Cat Returns" too, is overrated. Movies with local customs like "From Up on Poppy Hill" and "Only Yesterday" are more undervalued than "The Secret World of Arrietty". "Arrietty" is okay but no more.

The Edge of Heaven8
Nov 27, 2013
German director, Fatih Akin, explores relationships between national people from Germany and immigrant people from Turkey (most immigrant people in Germany is from Turkey). Reasoning is word most useful for this film. Akin shows us a direct question to us and he shows his particular vision about Turkish-German people in present. Beautiful film.

L'Auberge Espagnole9
Nov 27, 2013
Cédric Klapisch starts his trilogy "Spanish Apartment" is good. Romain Duris reminds me to Adèle Exarchopoulos in "Blue Is the Warmest Colour". Duris hesitates about his life, his future. I think that Klapisch has made very good with Spanish reality in Barcelona (Catalan struggles for example). It's true too lives of Erasmus students. French film is fresh and good beginning (next "Russian Dolls" and coming soon "Chinese Puzzle".

Chico & Rita8
Nov 27, 2013
"Chico & Rita" offers a beautiful and charming moment. Trueba brings a fantastic old story about love. "Chico & Rita" is like "Porgy & Bess" with latin sounds and excellent honor to Bebo Valdés. "Chico & Rita" and "Wrinckles" are newest beginning of Spanish animation cinema history. Soundtrack is faboulous, plot is solvent and directing is correct. Azúcar!!

The Wind Rises9
Nov 9, 2013
I tried to score 10 but, finally, I decided to score 9. "The Wind Rises" is like a Gabriel García Márquez's book. Miyazaki combines magical realism with traditional Japanese customs. If Isao Takahata gave a masterpiece about World War II titled "Grave of the Fireflies", Hayao Miyazaki brings most adult film ever for audiences. "The Wind Rises" is very difficult for some people because they aren't trained for these films. "The Wind Rises" must win next Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

Blue Is the Warmest Color8
Oct 25, 2013
"La vie d'Adèle" is single story about a young girl grows from teenage to adulthood. As Homer's Odyssey, Adèle crosses many experiences, her first love, her first disappointment. Her partenaire, Emma, is simpler than Adèle. Emma is clearer, no default. Adèle is more complex but it's difficult to empathize with her. Perhaps, director wants that because it's realer. "Blue Is the Warmest Color" is raw, honest, passional and amazing. Great film!
Oct 18, 2013
The Parent Trap7
Oct 18, 2013
"The Parent Trap" is a gorgeous movie. It's not unusual that familiar movies are good but "The Parent Trap" is one of few exceptions. In addition, it's a remake and remakes, seldom, are as good as original. Dennis Quaid and departed Natasha Richardson are great but Lindsay Lohan is best surprise in her presenting.
Oct 18, 2013
The Fifth Estate6
Oct 18, 2013
Most problem in this film is not unusual. "The Fifth Estate" is a typical biopic movie. I think that Benedict Cumberbatch is good playing Julian Assange but "The Fifht State" has a regular screenplay and Bill Condon, lately, is not good director. Daniel Brühl saves this film. I hope that Brühl will be successful in Hollywood.
Oct 17, 2013
Stupid Boy4
Oct 17, 2013
"Stupid Boy" is one of the few Swiss films that have been seen outside the country. It is also an LGBT-themed film. Problem is that the purpose of lead role is unclear. What does he do? Good movie but it lacks.
Oct 17, 2013
Toy Story 310
Oct 17, 2013
Pixar with "Toy Story 3" had its grand zenith. Toy Story trilogy is so: "Toy Story" good, "Toy Story 2" better and "Toy Story 3" best. This film is one of best film ever.
Oct 17, 2013
The Princess and the Frog5
Oct 17, 2013
"The Princess and the Frog" wanted to be greatest come-back but It's wannabe. Old way that it was useful in 90's but in 2000's not. Tiana is too politcally correct, she has too virtue and no imperfection. Then, Tiana has no feedback. I'm sorry, I tried to love this film but I can't it.
Oct 17, 2013
Tangled8
Oct 17, 2013
I think that Tangled is not back to basics. Disney Renaissance passed away. "Tangled" is a good beggining for...I don't know. "Bolt" is good, "The Princess and the Frog" is regular but "Tangled" is better. Disney goes a new direction and it gets to innovate. Fairy tale with traditional basis but it's modern at same time. Good film, Rapunzel is the new classic character in Disney.
Oct 17, 2013
Lost Highway7
Oct 17, 2013
"Lost Highway" is an example about most experimental David Lynch's films. A possible Doppelgänger lead character, Fred, and a mysterious unsolved crime. It's very difficult to understand this film with first view. It's necessary to watch again. Interesting film no logic. It's an avant-garde movie.
Oct 17, 2013
The Secret in Their Eyes8
Oct 17, 2013
Wonderful film Juan José Campanella has a good filmography ("Son of the Bride", "Same Love, Same Rain" or "Moon of Avellaneda" for example). But Campanella released best film in 2009 with "The Secret in Their Eyes". A beautiful story about impossible love, a mistery with solution and a difficult time in Argentine history, final political age of Isabelita Perón as national president of Argentina. If Campanella were Swedish, "The Secret in their Eyes" would be like Millennium saga films.
Oct 15, 2013
Alice in Wonderland5
Oct 15, 2013
I think Tim Burton should get plenty of rest. He is rusty. "Alice in Wonderland" is a outrage for Lewis Carroll's novels. Film without charm and boring. If Burton wanted to destroy the memory of the 1951 film, he just find it.
Oct 15, 2013
Kaboom2
Oct 15, 2013
"Kaboom" is an explosion of colours, sex **** more. Story has no logic. Purpose of the protagonist is not clear. "Kaboom" seems to be made by a person smoking marijuana is exceeded. It seems a bad Almodóvar film. The best of film? Juno Temple.
Oct 15, 2013
Love and Other Drugs7
Oct 15, 2013
I'm very surprised with Jake Gyllenhaal. When he was young he was very scrawny but now he is really hot. Gyllenhaal and Hathaway have very chemistry. In "Brokeback Mountain" you could watch but Brokeback Mountain story is totally different to "Love and Other Drugs". Hathaway is fine in this role and Gyllenhaal, wow he is great. "Love and Othe Drugs" is a cool love movie it is not unusual but it's perfect for a good time.
Oct 15, 2013
Water for Elephants6
Oct 15, 2013
"Water for Elephants" could be more than it is. A beautiful story about love. Circus is stage, it has many colours. Young man loves to older woman than him. It has an interesting story and screenplay but...Robert Pattinson has no charm with Reese Witherspoon. Pattinson is a good actor but there are no chemical link with her. It's a pain becauses this love story I really loved it.
Oct 15, 2013
Water Drops on Burning Rocks8
Oct 15, 2013
François Ozon's filmography is one of the most controversial and acclaimed European filmographies. Ozon has a singular vision about relationships, sexuality and social community. In "Water Drops on Burning Rocks" Ozon made real a unpublished play by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Fassbinder was one of the best European directors of 20th century and this movie is a tale about cruelty and domination that could be in a relationship. I like that characters are bisexual. The film goes beyond of sexual orientation and to show the power of domination. An ironic critique of dominant sexism still alive in nowadays.
Oct 15, 2013
The Chorus9
Oct 15, 2013
Christophe Barratier brings us a great masterpiece from French cinema. When I watched this film I was 14 years old and "Les choristes" was my first independent film. Later, I became a good cinephile. "Les choristes", like "La vita bella", is a kind movie that it give spectator a dose of joy and optimism. The score is a song to sensitive, a great score by Bruno Coulais. I don't understand why this film has such a low note by experts.
Oct 15, 2013
Gravity10
Oct 15, 2013
"Gravity" is not only a beautiful, visual and science-fiction film, it's more than that. Alfonso Cuarón has created pure 7th art. It has emotiional weight, life toil and spiritual philosophy Sandra Bullock is great, I think that Ryan Stone is her best role in her filmography. George Clooney is a cool Jiminy Cricket in this film. It's curious, this film is now but already is classic.
Oct 9, 2013
Mama2
Oct 9, 2013
When my brother invited me to premiere I was very exciting because I've heard many good reviews about this film. Later, I left cinema, scared but not for "Mama" but bad movie was it. This film hasn't sense. Okay, a evil ghost thought that two little orphan girls are her daughters but film has struggles to explain the real reasons. Sorry, but "Mama" is not for me.
Oct 9, 2013
The Canyons4
Oct 9, 2013
Film that tries to be independent, cult movie and almost it succeeds. "The Canyons" reminds me of "The Other Woman" or the Spanish film "Allegre ma non troppo". Lindsay Lohan recovers some of its former essence. The biggest problem with the film is not the script or the director, not, the problem is the partner of Lohan, James Deen. What does a porn actor starring in a movie? His performance is like a homemade short films actor.
Oct 9, 2013
Martha Marcy May Marlene5
Oct 9, 2013
I've tried several times to understand this movie and I have wanted that movie were good-film to me but I can't understand yet. Okay, Martha has many problems, she joined a dangerous sect and she gets to run away up to her sister. She is very scared and these scenes cause me a much anxiety. But, Martha is not a feeling character. Martha runs away but her abstraction is more difficult for understand. Besides, film hasn't got a purpose. It's an attempt to be "Black Swan" or "Perfect Blue".

The Milk of Sorrow9
Oct 8, 2013
"The Milk of Sorrow" is a film with a beautiful story of overcoming. With a historical trauma in the minds of some Peruvian towns. Magaly Solier is an actress who captivates with her nonverbal communication. Claudia Llosa looks positively Peruvian indigenous history (which in "Madeinusa" isn't it). "The Milk of Sorrow" had to have won the Academy Award. Llosa's magic realism is reminds me of great novels of her uncle, Mario Vargas Llosa.
Oct 8, 2013
Mirror Mirror5
Oct 8, 2013
"Mirror, Mirror" does not bring fresh air to the movies. I feel that this movie is very good for its target, tween girls. "Mirror, Mirror" has a lot of color, magic and it is full of good intentions. Julia Roberts plays well the role of the evil Queen. Lily Collins is a correct Snow White and Armie Hammer also. "Mirror, Mirror" reminds me of "Ella Enchanted" and "Get a Clue", movies to watch and tea time forgettable.
Oct 8, 2013
A Good Day to Die Hard3
Oct 8, 2013
Another action movie franchise based on overexploited. Bruce Willis is in his role, it is not surprising. The only surprise is how well he is for his age he has.
Oct 8, 2013
Steamboy6
Oct 8, 2013
Katsuhiro Otomo brings us a strange film. At beginning of alternate century, Ray Steam has main role in a film doesn't logical plot. It's true that "Steamboy" is science-fiction film but this is no excuse. "Akira" was powerful, philosophical and innovative. "Steamboy" begins cool, it promises an epic adventure but in the middle it jams. It rambles in story and the viewer no longer understands. "Steamboy" is movie interrumpted. Although, Otomo keeps on tension to end.
Oct 7, 2013
Side Effects7
Oct 7, 2013
Looking Rooney Mara in this film I think that Mara is perverse nymph. Rooney conveys fragility and innocence. But, behind this supposed fragility there are dark sides, maliciousness and revenge. Soderbergh has done one of the best films in 2000's. "Side Effects" seems a Agatha Christie or Patricia Highsmith book.
Oct 7, 2013
Despicable Me 25
Oct 7, 2013
Predictable, with funny jokes at various times. "Despicable Me 2" does not have the originality of its predecessor. It has good moments but they are no better than "Despicable Me". Okay, "Despicable Me 2" is good but "Despicable Me" is better.
Oct 7, 2013
Paprika8
Oct 7, 2013
Last film of great anime films director, Satoshi Kon. "Paprika" is visual beauty and exotic. It's a ironic regard about Japanese society. Excessive obsession with technology, desire of power, problem of suicide, sexual misconduct with little girls. "Paprika" is a kabuki thriller. Kon has great masterpiece. "Perfect Blue" is an inception, "Millennium Actress" is an intermezzo, "Tokyo Godfathers" is a rest and finally "Paprika" is most finale. As if it were a grand opera. "Paprika" is beautiful farewell.
Oct 7, 2013
Black Swan8
Oct 7, 2013
Aronofsky brings to public a film full of anguish. "Black Swan" is Odyssey of madness. Nina leads us to obsessive way. Since first moment, you known that Nina isn't right. It could be horror, familiar and professional pressure but Nina brings us self-destructive spiral. We are witnesses of beautiful insanity. Film is wonderful but it is not totally original. Satoshi Kon's "Perfect Blue" is more perfect than "Black Swan" although "Black Swan" is great too.
Sep 11, 2013
The Artist and the Model8
Sep 11, 2013
Fernando Trueba is one of the most prestigious film directors who have Spain (he has an Academy Award to prove it). "The Girl of Your Dreams" was a typical movie Spanish, Andalusian charm and beauty. In "Chico & Rita", Trueba showed his love for boleros, Cuban music and an ode to deceased Bebo Valdés. With "The artist and the model," Trueba shows us his passion for French films, to Truffaut, old cinema, to the French language. A beautiful film, with class, elegance and a great fusion between Spain and France.

20468
Sep 11, 2013
At the beginning, I couldn't understand this film, it looks like a epic film of future like "Blade Runner" or "Dune" but, continuing, I watch that this film is a sequel of another movie, "In the Mood for Love"). "2046" is more different than "In the Mood for Love", it's more abstract, less direct. Result is well.
Sep 11, 2013
Delicacy8
Sep 11, 2013
"La délicatesse" is a loving film with lots of charm and it is made for couples who want to see there after happy ending. Audrey Tautou is great but who stands out in the film is François Damiens. He is real star film. "La délicatesse" is like taking a relaxing cup of café con leche in Montmartre.
Jul 7, 2013
Blancanieves9
Jul 7, 2013
"Blancanieves" has all the charm and race in a Spanish film. With the typical local folklore, Berger gets revisit the classic tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (six in this film) in a way that, hopefully, in Hollywood would have been. "Mirror, Mirror" and "Snow White and the Huntsman," which both were released the same year in Spain, unable to reach the strength of this Snow White. Congratulations!

Maria Full of Grace9
Jun 30, 2013
One the best films from Colombia, together with "Our Lady of the Assassins" or "The Little Roses Girl". Great début for Catalina Sandino. It's truth all about tragic destiny to these South American girls. Great film!
Jun 30, 2013
Howl's Moving Castle9
Jun 30, 2013
"Howl's Moving Castle" is amazing with beautiful and epic visuals. Hayao Miyazaki gives to us a powerful film with a complexity for stylish spectators. After "Spirited Away", Miyazaki returns back with reloaded energy.
Jun 30, 2013
A Very Long Engagement8
Jun 30, 2013
"Un long dimanche de fiançailles" has charm, gentleness and delicacy. Audrey Tautou has a epic role as Mathile, a young girl who knows her fiancé is alive. Jean-Pierre Jeunet's last good film. Totally recommended!
Jun 30, 2013
I'm So Excited3
Jun 30, 2013
I'm So Excited is as a outdated, passé film. Typical Spanish jokes without flair. 80's is passed, now is in 2013. Almodóvar should do a revision about his cinema-style. "The Skin I Live In", "Volver" or "Broken Embraces" are dark and good-styling but Almodóvar return to comedy films is wrong. Sorry, Almodóvar, I like your films but this time not.
Jun 22, 2013
Brave8
Jun 22, 2013
"Brave" is a good Pixar film but it goes in crescendo although in a filmed midpoint begins fall. Brenda Chapman was the first director and that is prominent because her view is risky and that is what should be a Pixar film. "Monsters University" is great because it's a fun by fun film but "Brave" should be epic and, only, is the first half part.
Jun 22, 2013
Chloe8
Jun 22, 2013
"Chloe" is synonymous with sexual tension. It's avant-garde, a real erotic thriller. It's like "Eliana, sister-in-law" with a sexual tension with no resolving. Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried have good chemical connection. Good remake!
