DOOM Like levels frenetic gameplay Quake like pickups and gunplay Combos and kill streaks Boss battles Finisher moves Level Editor Yes, it's an effort to bring back good old DOOM like FPS with a modern and different touch. It works, the game is easy to pick and fun. Gamepad support is good. Replayability it's there for the campaign (trying to do better) and with a Level Editor. The game engine works fine, and the art style decision makes even better the engine, so you can play this on a toaster. Not a perfect game, but much better than "game critics" are stating on this page

Rise of the Argonauts9
Nov 5, 2014
from my steam acc: Rise of the Argonauts Review General Score : 9/10 Worth playing ? : Yes Replay value : Yes, but not for me. Be warned that I played the whole game using a gamepad, and I do not consider any other way to play such games if not with an xbox controller or game pad. On the combat part of the game, because of this, your mileage may vary in contrast to mine. Perfect example of one good game, that is a victim of it's own ambitions, but at least for me, this time, it is a positive thing. Sometimes you can use Metacritic as a external support for your own conclusions: Critic score:59 User score:7.2 You know why ??, because many of the players that reviewed the game on Metacritic and myself ,had the balls to hold up and finish the game, not like those "critics" that gave the game a 59. Let aside the "twists" developers did on Greek mythology to build up the game, it excels on the story itself, voice acting and companions. The message of humility, courage, wisdom, discipline and justice (Athena's virtues) spread all along the game's story, combined with other's Greek gods good and bad virtues, is just a great teaching for everyone. Hell, close to the ending of the game, developers even let you go over Greek mythology on the creation of the world and all living things. Through all the game, I was amazed how the selfish and particular desire of Jason (to revive his dead wife) was coped , mixed and contrasted with all this mythology, where serving the others and acting for the greater good above our own desires is the goal. The first 8 hours of the game, I must admit that there is too much of dialog and too little on action. The dialog system is smart, every dialog option you take is tied to a different god, so it's an alignment system. The way you think, the way you respond to dialogs, aligns you more with one of other Greek god(s). All the deeds you achieve, via combat, quests, achievements or dialogs can be praised to a different god, thus, giving you access to different buffs and abilities trees. First 8 hours of the game, this buffs and abilities might no seem much of a change, but later on, it is. I specialized on Athena's (my favorite deity, of all there are) and the lighting - powers I got where an amazing spectacle on combat. Combat pretty much is an arena combat, you get on a closed area, and fight your way out. There are puzzles to be solved both in combat situations, and in normal quest situations. 3 different combat styles, really cool all of them. Sword, Mace and Spear. Amazing usage of the shield ,and the shield charge against enemies to open up defenses. The combat in general is really good, but at the second half of the game , it just rocks the boat. Gods powers on combat are just the ice on the cake. Companions are pretty useless on combat (unless you buff them al lot via skill trees), but all of them have great personality, characterizations and dialogs. You choose 2 of them to go with you , on different places. So first half of the game, gets you into the plot with a lot of dialog, backtracking, some lackluster quests an little combat...... This is where I think most of the people quit playing the game. Second part of the game, just gets better and better until there is no effort in continuing playing the game. I must admit, that I managed to pass the first 6 hours because I like a lot Greek and Roman mythology, and I was thrilled with the game's plot, twists on the Jason story overall and with the general message on the game. The scenarios are great and graphics are OK, besides some half job on some NPCs. The fact there is no direct access to the map (you have to navigate menus to it) just makes me want to punch someone on the face.

Below the surface , this is a good , solid RPG game, that cover most of the basics of a RPG, but the story. Despite it`s graphic style, the game mechanics are solid, good bunch of spells, magic schools and items. It might seem like just another anime RPG ( or JRPG) but it has good production quality Worth the buy and the time. Why 8/10 ? , story is laking.

It's a nice game, with a lot of love on it. Good quests, nice environment. Play it on warlord to get some challenge, otherwise might be a bit easy. It has a mod community and modding tools. This is really nice, since people liking the game and assets will expand the lifetime of the game as long as there is people interested in modding and others in playing those mods. The game runs on a shoe box, so that's a plus. Even on my old Intel GMA935 the game runs and its perfectly playable. One thing I do not like, and holds back a better score, it's some path finding issues for thr NPCs and some combat glitches. Other than that,it's a nice experience.

Legend of Dungeon8
Dec 31, 2013
This game is fun and simple. The really simple (battle) mechanics are balanced by a bunch of different random hats and weapons that appear, some are useful, some are funny and some are just a joke. Latest patch have improved hitbox and controls. The game is really simple but is filled with smart humor and it's fun at the end. don't expect complex mechanics, its more of a casual rogue-like dungeon game than anything else, but still fun. The only mayor problem I find is that there is no save; play a bit and go is impossible. also later patch have introduced new game dungeon modes, for free.

The game is a dungeon crawler with more or less big maps. It shines on coop specially if each player chooses a different class and there is workteam I've played a good amount of hours solo and with the wife, and it's much more fun on coop. Also, there is a big difference (IMO) trying to play on keyb/mouse and with a gamepad Gamepad works much better then keyb/mouse The statistics part of the game needs to be overhauled, since it's pointless ATM The local coop option, I think the saving does not work as it should Other than that, the game is fun

If you can get it really cheap or ina bundle get it. It's good for casual gaming and short bursts. Even the game is not pc demanding at all, graphic settings on high can lag a laptop (WTF) controls with keyboard are tricky BUT NOT BAD. People are wrong when the say keyb on this game is broken. First, movement counts on your firing altering direction. Second, put the graphic options on LOW to make sure there is no input lag for the keyb. third, there is some kind on inertia when you move, so be careful. You have to be really lucky to get the right stuff to finish the game. If you only feel happy with a game if you finish it, dont play. the joy of this game is based on how random it can be,aming it difficult. If this wasn't like this, the game would be short as in wft. conclusion, there are better rogue like games out there but this one can be enjoyable.

First of all is a work in progress. Multiplayer it's beign finished. The game is a 2D platformer with RPG elements. Everything fits together very very well. The keyboard controls are just amazing, well implemented and fast to learn. Nice big castle to explore, and the graphics are just fine. Really nice game that you can see (If you play a lot of games) that a lot of care is well put into the game, from controls, to gameplay, menus, inventory, all of it. Even with no MP yet, i am giving it a 9. Yes, it can get "repetitive" since it's and adventure platformer, but all of the items on the game, the RPG elements and the humor makes it run until the end of the SP campaign.

This is a correct turn -based RPG game. The main campaign is based on a series of battles ibjectives on a map. Unit level progression is simple yet effective. the 3D map is a plus on this game. The turns limit on missions and maps, makes you want to do better There are some unnaceptable problems with the UI and missing text strings on buttons.

Sword of the Stars: Complete Collection9
Sep 12, 2013
SOTS Complete Collection is what the game should be in the release date. They learned from mistakes and added some nice content. The game is a complex (and some times too random) 4X strategy game that will test your patience, since it's not an easy game to learn and the space battles are not that straight forward. If you take too long to level technology, you'll end up with super-powerful enemies compared to you ç no matter what. This will happen a lot in the first gameplays and can be frustrating it's no casual strategy game. There are other space based 4X strategy games, but this one is really O.K. Master of Orion II for example, it's much more easier to understand and play. If you like these types of games I highly recommend Space Empires IV Deluxe

It's a fun casual hack and slash. The only way to play this is with an xbox controller. I do understand those saying the game is bad because PC controls are broken, but i seriusly think you should not buy these type of games if it is not for playing with gamepads on your TV, It gets better with a friend in local co-op Now, the combat: it's bad. A.I aside, the strong attack combos are way too slow, slower than they should making impossible to use a 3 combo strong attack with more than 1 enemy close to you. Than breaks a lot of your choices, making them ,much more smaller. the art style is nice

This game is a bit underrated. It has seveere flaws on movement cover system and de enemy AI it's just dumb Aside from that, the story is good, graphics are ok (specially if you add SweetFX) and the missions are just long enough to have fun and not find them repetitive or boring. Mini games are well, just **** lockpicking minigame works fine but the hacking onw with keyboard and mouse is terrible. If you can bet this game cheap, that is the case nowadays, and it gets on sale a lot, i recommend buying it. As for replayability, I really don't think the game will encourage you to play again once you finish it once, even for different character progression

Space Pirates and Zombies7
Sep 8, 2013
The game is good in short bursts, but it gets repetitive really fast, once you've learned the basics. That is, after the first 4 hours, your will only be moved by the desire of unlocking new ships, since everything else becomes a (repetitive) grind fest. Every system seems similar in structure and quests. The combat is fun, since every ship behaves different, but balancing issues on game's difficulty are there.

It's just a mindless isometric shooter. but delivers what it promises. Tons and tons of zombies on screen, to shoot at. the comparing is short, there is a character progression system, an item shop and a decent amount of weapons that behave differently. Overall it's a nice casual game, that's it. It has some problems on modern machines, some short of stuttering I cannot get rid of, but it's playable. I do own all zombie shooter and alien shooter from this developer, and I have to say that from the price you can get them on bundles, they are ok and fun.

Dungeon Siege8
Sep 8, 2013
This game is easy to learn for non rpg experts, which makes it even more attractive. The game is fun, the graphics are just fine (even its an old game) and the game play is good. It's an easier RPG than others on it's style, so it makes it perfect for a come and go, playing casual. There is little room for exploration on this game, since it's mostly a dungeon crawler, from point A to point B and some very easy puzzles. Overall it's a good game. The real time battles with strategic pauses, makes it really cool and fun to play with. If you feel your party is not balanced or you want to change it, you can train any of the party's components on other magic melee or anything else. there are no classes per se. As for the time of this review, MP does not work anymore, but there is a way to make it work. So in conclusion, a really nice party based Action RPG with tactical pauses on combats. I have to agree with some people, that the game can become repetitive.

This game is a mash up between Tetris like game play, building offensive and defensive blocks and fighting. Well, the game is fun for playing local battles. It has few block types that allow you to do some strategic fighting of you opponent. It has few maps, for 1 on 1 battles and 3 maps for 2 on 2 battles. Each map plays different from the others in terms of mobs, and you can always choose the type of bricks you want on the match. Also, you NEED game pads for this game, forget about playing with mouse keyboard Pros : - Really fun local battles - Each map plays different - You can customise brick types for the match - 1 on 1 and 2 on 2 local battles, perfect game for PC parties Cons: - Few maps, only 5 for 1 on 1 and 3 por 2 on 2. - Campaign experience (solo playing) it's not attractive, this game is for pc parties (con ?) - Well, it's hard to find people with more than 1 game pad at home......... I do have 3, but not everyone plays at home with steam big picture and wife - No Internet battles....... lots o ppl on the PC platform, do their "pc parties" over Internet, not locally.....

This is a great adventure game. Beware, play all of te series or you will loose much of the story and fund. Fair puzzles, excellent story, and, ih, the music and ambient on this one is amazingly good. I enjoyed this one more than the first one. The story is sad, but hey, it's a game about life and death. If you are curious enough, you will find that the back-story of one of the NPC, it's actually based on a real reporter. If you can buy the pack, do it. Shadowrun Returns6
Jul 29, 2013
Bad save system - Sound (overall) is subpar - Large descriptive bricks of text (I can live with that, but I am not the majority on this) - No voice acting (not even a bit on the intro, to immerse you on the environment) - Standard gameplay (no innovation at all, well at least it has conjuring and invocations) - Small maps that causes too much loading in between scenarios maps. Funny thing, even scenarios are really small, the loading takes it's time. - Char animations are ok, but the interaction animation for the principal character could have been better. - Character archetypes and char level progression is cristal clear and easy to follow (really like that ) - You get karma points fairly kick so character progression is more interactive - It's mission oriented philosophy makes the game pretty corridor like with almost no room for exploration (not saying is bad, but some RPG fans don't like this) Some of this drawbacks and problems point to decisions taken thinking on Tablet mobile **** so, they ruined what PC experience could have been, that, in my opinion, is where a franchise like shadowruns should be emerging. It is a OK game you play ? Well if you like CRPGs, yes it's ok. The world of Shadowruns is great and the idea behind is also really interesting For the price? Well, here is the problem. I've seen indie games with better production values for a lower price than Shadowruns. So, what makes the difference ?? Well, the campaign and level editor seems to be the emergency pot here. Community will eventually produce content for this game and you will always have something fresh to test playthrough on the Shadowrun world. I will play this game to the end of the final campaign and see what happens in the middle with the commutity and devs, but I fell, that even for the (low) price, is a pretty standard game. Id rather pay up to 30USD for a franchise like this one, to get a better outcome.

I respect all opinions but this is a niche game for me, that excels. add some sweetFX to it, and the visuals are just awesome.
