It was good but a bit overrated. The puzzle gameplay was good enough and the story is serviceable for a video game and the art was inspired enough. But the way it plays was partly clunky and partly repetitive and partly too obvious and the music/art generally repetitive and the story a bit more convoluted than needed for a video game. In general I would say it's worth it if you're into puzzle games, but don't expect a masterpiece here so I wouldn't recommend it to all types of gamers.

This game is getting a 10 before even completing it and I'll tell you why. The gameplay is incredibly original in a world of countless of puzzle games so that alone is just monumentally impressive. Not only that: it's also structured in terms of level-progression design in a way that both lets the user progress to the end but also on-choice stay to do further harder puzzles.

It's a pretty good game for the most part; it has cute art and good puzzles and a cozy environment; it should be enjoyed by all into adventure games of this type but there two big caveats. First: the mapping in general is between cumbersome and lazy; most world graphics are copy pasted dozens of times and the geometry is very repetitive to the point of just having to scan the map in a mechanical manner to cover it all without making a mistake at just checking it all. Secondly the game takes itself way to seriously in terms of wanting the player to restart the game; they added an alternative long ending after it was released on stream which implies you really love replaying a large part of it; they should have kept it at the original design [happy endings aren't always necessary in good stories anyway].

The real score is ~7 but since the page appears infested by paid shills that downvote anything below an 8 I punish them with a 0. The game appears ok for people that are into raw strategy gaming; it appears to have all the features for that and a lot of depth; I hear it's also heavily moddable. For me it doesn't work that it doesn't have any artistic appeal to draw me in; the graphics and music are purely barebones like I'm in 1991; it's like an office job in terms of aesthetics in effect.

It's a good game-collection for what it sets out to do; most of the puzzles are well constructed and enjoyable even when they are hard; the atmosphere of the art is often captivating. The main negative is that various of the puzzles are not based on well defined logic but on random surrealism; they leave the user forced to guess what the artist of the game had subjectively in mind; the hint system rarely helps on those. The artwork is not the strongest in the genre; most drawings and animations are too simplistic and the music can be repetitive; there are many jump scares but they are rarely justified by the story.

This is a pretty good game; one of the best in the series; it's a shame it's not well known as much as the rest. They return to the perfect formula for this game that made it great since the start; pure puzzle solving with great atmosphere and not unnecessary fast pacing like the end of the third (or being rushed like the 2nd). The only imperfect thing about it is that it's not too original even though that's subjective because what the 1st was is still great.

game is very subjective if you're gonna like it. it's well designed for its genre; it offers a relatively large open world of progressive adventuring without being excessively large; its battling style is relatively complex and you can progressively become better and better at it while the story is fitting for a crime story. however for my tastes it was very excessive in vertical progression design; the game has you doing repetitive mundane tasks in order to have minor progress every time for minor benefits in battle (if you take the money system out of the picture (e.g. by using a trainer) the game feels extremely barebones for little gameplay since the repetition for more and more money is what gave a lot of its apparent depth); the battle style is subjective if you're gonna like it and you might like it if you're into that kind of genre but I personally found it cumbersome and repetitive and not worth the trouble going the full road of perfecting my gameplay for this game while the story was nothing extraordinary but I definitely can't give it a very low score because it's obviously subjectively great if you're into that kind of genre.

It's a cute little story that deserves the investment. It's more or less a mildly interactive movie. The gimmick of the eye blinking with the camera is not the greatest; that's mainly because humans blink involuntarily all the time and it can disrupt gameplay with no way to reverse; I'd suggest to most to disable the camera feature after you see it for a few minutes.

I'm trying to be fair because it is subjective. The game appears very good if you're into that kind of game genre; it's a pure rogue-like gameplay without much getting into the way of that; it has strong platforming qualities and a relatively fast pace if the user chooses to play that way. However for my tastes it's nothing extraordinary that would keep me playing; the gameplay appears relatively cumbersome to get used to and it has excessive usage of serial platforming which feels repetitive within less than an hour of gameplay and it doesn't feel naturally fast-paced and exciting (you have to force it yourself to go fast which drops the illusion of excitement other games of the genre offer that drop you more readily into the action); the story doesn't feel too engaging other than slightly comedic and the gameworld doesn't feel too dynamic that makes you feel as part of something grande so I would definitely suggest to people to stick to Hades for this genre because this is like a less developed and less fun and less engaging version of that.

The story is impeccable and the animation the best of its kind and generally the perfect game of its genre for ~2013. The thing with the remakes is that they are mostly cash grabs; the retain a gameplay which is dated for their year; they basically reskin the graphics for the most part which isn't the only part that turned the original into a masterpiece.

The game is imperfect in that it drags too long explaining certain concepts and with excessive usage of allegory while the gameplay itself is too simplistic to offer any depth. It's practically a semi-replica of Zelda:Breath of the Wild with a harry potter theme and a main hero that can talk. It will probably impress you for the first few hours of gameplay; the artwork is impeccable inside Hogwarts (10/10 to mappers for that); the 'grinding' of the game is more or less addictive while the combat is pretty good as well as part of the story. However: if you do play for more than a couple of days: you will probably find it repetitive and with serious flaws; the length of this review is not enough to express everything about but let's just say the game is relatively mediocre for most of its gameplay aspects though it never becomes too annoying; its best attributes is the art design of Hogwarts itself and the combat mechanics.

This game is clearly one of the best games ever created. I have played countless of excellent games since the 80s and this is one of the very few each decade that offers something original to some extend at least. The main reasons it doesn't get a perfect score is that a) part of its gameplay is to some extend derivative because the quest design is relatively predictable and b) a minority of the secret memories/areas were placed in the game in a way that it was more tedious to find them than to enjoy the rest of the game but it wasn't too bad.

Syberia 4 is objectively one of the best point-and-click adventure games in the history of the genre itself. I'm not making that statement lightly at all since I've gone through hundreds of games since the 1980s. Could this have harder puzzles? Maybe, but that didn't make a bad game and some were well balanced. Could it have more modern movement physics? Maybe, but does it really need it? The game is an impeccable story and impeccable execution and quite long too.

The game is fine with many good puzzles so it can not disappoint if you're looking for a puzzle game though it has 2 flaws that should be mentioned. First: some of the bonus puzzles can not be solved by a human without brute forcing or backtracking (e.g. the eight-queens puzzle which according to chess literature itself is in need of a computer program or heavy backtracking) which can become obnoxious though luckily the issue was minimal on the main questline so it doesn't take away much from the game. Second: the developer that wrote the text commenting on the puzzles after their correct solutions and sometimes even when giving hints was obviously not the one that created the puzzles and didn't understand many of the puzzles themselves because in several cases the text wasn't on-point at all (which is pretty obvious to players that have already solved the puzzles and understood them).

It seems like a game that you might love if you're really into that genre, but it can be frustrating to control and it is very spammy at graphics and sounds for little reason. It reminds of old arcade games that were mainly trying to impress the people watching them rather than the ones actually playing.

Game was pretty good. It might technically deserve a 7 but I gave it an 8 because it's also one of my favorite genres. The main flaws I saw was that it was extremely easy for at least the first half of the game and the most important one was that the puzzles never really became harder (with fewer than 2-3 exceptions) since most puzzles that took more time mainly did it because they required more exploration but otherwise for younger audiences it would be ok at that.

The game is pretty good for what it tries to do: a first-person platformer. However it is in essence an one-trick pony so it is extremely subjective if you're gonna like it. It immediately throws you into its simple action which will be obviously loved by many but for the rest of us the game can feel like an unnecessary chore.
