Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

Funny gameplay, interesting story and rich characters. Ghost Trick is a mysterious and grateful videogame.

Whilst the ending is a disappointment, the game gets so many things right it is all too easy to succumb to its charms.

Despite occasional frustration though, the more active gameplay of Ghost Trick is a welcome change from the mostly passive adventures of Ace Attorney (a series we also love!).

The character animations are incredibly fluid and impressive, and several of their conversations are good for a chuckle. Unfortunately, these scattered bits of life aren't enough to bring Sissel's adventure back from the dead.

A Masterpiece of it's time. The best puzzle-esc game I've ever played and I hate puzzle games. This is easily in my top 10, it beats Ocarina of Time.

It was good but a bit overrated. The puzzle gameplay was good enough and the story is serviceable for a video game and the art was inspired enough. But the way it plays was partly clunky and partly repetitive and partly too obvious and the music/art generally repetitive and the story a bit more convoluted than needed for a video game. In general I would say it's worth it if you're into puzzle games, but don't expect a masterpiece here so I wouldn't recommend it to all types of gamers.

"Infinite waiting for a plot twist that doesn't deliver" is how I would describe this game in one sentence. The gameplay seems interesting at first but quickly falls off as it is extremely tedious, repetitive and most of all incredibly easy. I would estimate there are about two 10 second segments that offer any challenge at all for a person of average intelligence. The animation is excellent and story has great potential that sadly gets wasted in the second half of the game. Even the pacing is really poor since the animation and dialogue is slow and cannot really be fast forwarded.

I was really disappointed with this game given its quite high user reviews. The flow is terrible you are constantly having to click on dialog boxes. The story line is really bad, which would be less of a problem if you could skip the story. The puzzles are not worth the wait to get to them. Don't waste your money.
