Characters are memorable and well drawn, literally and figuratively, and the game ably tackles thorny issues such as the consequences of school bullying, and the terrible toll taken by anxiety, depression and domestic abuse. For the most part, the 12-hour runtime flies by as you get to know every delightful nook and cranny of the cosy neighbourhood; only the final third drags a little. It feels worthwhile after the superb ending, though, which ensures that this game will live on in your memory for a long, long time after the credits roll.

There are numerous interesting puzzles that unfold because of the game’s unusual mechanics and set up, and it would be almost unfair to ruin any of them for you here. We’d therefore recommend trying out A Space For The Unbound if you’re looking for something that’s clearly been made with love and passion – it’s hard not to be whisked away by its charms.

A Space for the Unbound is a beautiful, emotional journey that stayed with me long after the credits rolled. The story is powerful, heartfelt, and deeply human. It is easily one of the best narratives I’ve experienced in a game. And the music? Absolutely perfect. Every track enhances the mood and pulls you deeper into the world. For a narrative-driven game, story and music are everything. This one nails both. A masterpiece.

Loved this game. The characters are all so memorable to me. The graphic style is neat, the music is catchy, and presents and unique setting. Really enjoyed the journey the story and characters took me on, beat the game in about 9 hours over 2 months ago and I still think about this game!

A Space for the Unbound delivers its story of domestic/school violence (and overcoming it!) with its own imagination and well written characters. The tiny little details in the game that introduce Indonesian culture not only showed the developers' affection for their home country, but also made me want to know more about the country.

A Space for the Unbound tells a beautiful story with a lot of humanity and fantastic elements. Although its gameplay can get a bit tedious, it is an experience that we recommend to indie game lovers.

A Space for the Unbound is a brisk 15-hour story that is full of surprises and potent emotional beats. While it doesn’t offer much in the way of replayability, it’s a hugely memorable experience nonetheless.

A Space for the Unbound tries to stand on its story, but wraps it in a gameplay that is unbearably tedious.

A true masterpiece and a hidden gem. The story is a 10/10, the visual presentation is a 10/10. If you are a fan of the pixel art style, a unique story, petting lot of cats and some minor puzzles you should definitely get this game. I have some minor complaints tho, I played the game in my native language (German) and there were some minor translations errors and sometimes the formatting for the big text boxes was wrong in comparison to the screen. I couldn’t find any other issues with the game. 10/10 from me.

The game is good but IMO it's a bit overrated. Seeing all these great reviews set my expectations so high. I ended up clocked the game kinda bored. Art and musics are fabulous. Gameplay is average. Maybe story will keep you playing.

The game is an in depth analysis on the borderline personality disorder; it goes through the journey **** mind being betrayed by her own father trying to find peace with that; it does it with the help of an avatar controlled by the player. The game is imperfect in that it drags too long explaining certain concepts and with excessive usage of allegory while the gameplay itself is too simplistic to offer any depth. Perhaps it would work even better as an indie film instead **** because the best part of it is the core story and not the gameplay.

My wife and I have played a lot of adventure games together and we were looking forward to this one for its good reviews. The game left us rather puzzled by its boring and uninspiring story. The plot is foreseeable, childish, black-white, stereotypic and not particularly funny (unlike Monkey Island say). The graphics is decent for a retro game but for the price of it, I would expect a lot more. We rate this game the lowest among the about 10 games that we played together.

I was looking forward to this game. Ended up very disappointed & bored I actually regret not just buying it but also finishing it. I'm not the type of person who expects or wants something new in my games so I'm not knocking it for that but if it's not treading new ground then it needs to be interesting and do basics well. Was not interested at all.
