Oxenfree is a uniquely dynamic enigmatic narrative game that is as complex as the player's willingness to engage. It introduces characters begging to be understood despite their confounded pasts. The game challenges players to look beyond the surface, reminding us that all carry a history that shapes their present. Oxenfree prompts players to reflect on the control we have over our lives. It's a journey through acceptance, illustrating that acknowledging the past allows for moving forward. I love how deeply one can dig for lore in this game, even extending to an ARG. Playing today, I was able to reach an ending I was satisfied with as I could find the confidence in myself to be proud of the choices I made, embracing the consequences: a reflection of my growth.

I was drawn by its retro trailer and antiwork premise. To my surprise, I unveiled a short time-loop ARG that hid multiple unique mechanics I had not experienced in any other game, an immersive world and a sweet soundtrack. It has been a minute since a game made me wear my detective hat, willingly spending hours unravelling its secrets. My only regret? Not being patient enough with the final puzzle to solve it myself. Test Test Test is a free indie puzzle game that keeps on giving.

Spiritfarer caught my attention with its bold juxtaposition of vibrant graphics and death. What kept me engaged was the satisfying platformer, simple farming, gorgeous music and illustrations, and charming layered characters. I eventually found myself postponing finishing the game, as I couldn't bring myself to say my final goodbyes. Spiritfarer is a heartwarming game that teaches you about letting go through wonderful adventures and true-story-based narratives that inevitably will have to come to an end. Connecting with the characters I fell in love with and saying goodbye to them made me emotional. Spiritfarer made me reflect on my relationship with death, with people, and on my capacity to let go.
