God of War10

This game is special. Feral, primal, and hard hitting combat? Yep. An incredible story of a father and son with awesome lore and setting?Yes. Beautiful visuals and music? You betcha. It all just goes incredibly hard. It’s one of the best experiences I’ve had with a game ever.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition10

An incredible immersive experience, with fantastic gameplay, multiple great storylines, CRPR’s signature sharp writing, all on a handheld.. it’s a preem package, and a must own for S2 owners. (This was my first play though of the game so this release was perfect for me)

Big, gorgeous, and a total blast. The open world is an added bonus that provides for some relaxing cruising with Nintendo’s signature atmosphere and music.

Another one of my all time favorite games. While the shooting mechanics were clunky, the squad combat, story, atmosphere, etc more than made up for it! Another game I really hope, some way some how, come to NSO despite not being a GameCube original.

This was one of my absolute favorites on the GameCube back when I was a kid. Really hoping we get this on NSO at some point! Would love to revisit (and beat this for the first time)!

I played the remake a few years back on Xbox Series S. I didn’t really have any ties to the original outside of watching my brother and his friends play it on the GameCube briefly before getting kicked out because it was “too scary”. But the remake was phenomenal. Pretty much a perfect experience. I just got through playing the original on Switch. And… it may be even better than the remake? This is a perfect video game. Truly spectacular. Once you get used to/master the “tank” controls… you are on an absolute roll and the game becomes almost impossible to put down. The gameplay, the characters, the cheese/comedy, the world, the politics, etc. It’s just freaking awesome. This game has become one of my all time favorites, and one I think I’ll revisit many times.

The gameplay is as smooth as butter and endlessly satisfying, and the boss battles here are legendary.

Wonderful visuals and atmosphere, and the environmental storytelling is great. But the constant backtracking in a 3D space, as opposed to the 2D games, just doesn’t work for me.

An absolute blast to play, and hilarious/brilliant satire on the American Dream.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening9
May 9, 2025
This a wonderful condensed/distilled Zelda experience with a surprisingly emotional story. My only flaw with it is that it runs rather poorly on Switch. Looking forward to replaying on Switch 2 where it’ll (hopefully) be a smoother experience.

Batman: Arkham Origins9

While it's gameplay is pretty much exactly identical to Arkham City, this game sets itself apart by having the best narrative of the series, and having an awesome/memorable Christmas setting.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild10

I went back through and did my first play through of BOTW in master mode, earlier this year. It was unique experience from my other times playing though the game, because 90% of the time, my son was next to me. And the same wonder I have experienced playing through this game, he had... and it was just an amazing thing. As it stands right now. This is my favorite game of all time. BOTW is a masterpiece.

Not too much. Not too little. A perfect video game experience. I've been going through and playing all of the Metroid games, and this might just be my favorite.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom9
Sep 12, 2024
Tears of The Kingdom is perhaps better than Breath of The Wild in every possible way. On paper at least, and it is. But… the original is artistically more compelling and complete. Tears of The Kingdom is a fantastic sequel, and the end of the game is legendary.

Red Dead Redemption10
Sep 12, 2024
The original Red Dead Redemption is wicked fun. Its gameplay is tighter and sharper than its sequel. The music has no right to be as good as it is. And its protagonist, John Marston, is a badass and a compelling character in equal measure. This is one of the greatest games ever made.

Red Dead Redemption 210

Absorbing, immersive, exciting, heart breaking, and beautiful. Red Dead Redemption II is a work of art— and its protagonist, Arthur Morgan, is one of the finest characters ever written. Period.
