It's so stupid and has no right to be as fun as it is but dammit it IS fun. It is an auto-firing reverse-bullet-hell with lots (LOTS) of hidden secrets and unlocks, easter eggs, pop culture and game references, and numbers. Yes...LOTS OF NUMBERS. Your screen will be FILLED with numbers as you grow more powerful and spend 5 minutes simply standing in place obliterating every monster, their friends, their families, their past and future children, possibly even their future reincarnated selves. Every character has the potential to achieve GOD LIKE power and it IS A SPECTACLE OF PIXELS. It's also incredibly addicting. However, I've struggled to find motivation in completing the final secret bits of the game, as it does get repetitive eventually. There were also a few bugs that led to some significant confusion as to why certain unlock conditions weren't triggering their rewards, and I did run into a few instances where the "secret" is hidden in a way the old NES game secrets were hidden - so obscurely you will most certainly need a guide for at least a few of them. Overall, a mindless, fun game that doesn't break the bank.

I think the lack of marketing behind this title is an injustice. It flew completely under my radar, and I was thoroughly surprised when I grabbed it on sale and found a really well-thought-out, well-polished, and (optionally) challenging tactical card-based RPG. I recommend this title to Marvel fans who enjoy a solid tactical RPG experience, or even those who haven't tried one - they do a fantastic job easing you into it. I also love the element of getting to just sort of casually hang out with all of these Marvel heroes. They really sell it, with a friendship system, and both gameplay and cosmetic rewards. (There's even a little easter egg cutscene if you can unlock all of the special Midnight Sun outfits for each hero). Unfortunately, the ending did feel a bit anticlimactic. They set it up for some epic battle and it just ends up **** another mostly ordinary battle. They also leave it on a cliffhanger for a sequel that will likely never materialize because the game's sales were...less than stellar. Still, I enjoyed it, I think a lot of others will too.

A solid action game, although most of the RPG elements are stripped away. I highly recommend it as a competent, somewhat challenging action title. If you're expecting a classic RPG experience, or even something like FFXV, you're not going to get it here. This is definitely one of the more non-traditional FF titles in recent memory, which is strange since it's a main-series-title game, but it is a genuinely fun experience with competent storytelling. I cared about the characters and was genuinely invested in the plot from the get-go, all the way until the final scenes. Things holding this title back - the classic "hidden" end game bosses are just sort of handed to you via a "bounty board" type system. The gameplay is also fairly linear, there is some amount of backtracking and re-visiting prior areas, but for the most part it's go from point A to point B killing anything in your way in between. There's also little reason to do many of the games optional challenges, as they offer no tangible reward. People will invariably be disappointed when sinking time into some of those challenges only to be given a "score" at the end, or a "collectible" that's just a new item that appears in your "main hub" area. Still, I recommend this game. It sits somewhere between FFVII remake and Devil May Cry, with a generous helping of that Square-Enix JRPG melodrama.

This is probably the most solid non-From Software-Soulslike around. A few things do hold it back, but honestly, this game has heart, the developers and artists had to have put a ton of effort into this game and it shows. The good: - There is a more concrete plot and less vague or obscure lore to sift through to understand what's going on. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the depth of lore From Software puts out and their uncanny ability to leave small details everywhere as clues. However there is something to be said about just having the story unfold and not having to dig around to find it. - Gorgeous graphics and buttery smooth on PC (played via Gamepass PC, RTX 3090,i7 9700k, 32gb RAM, Samsung evo SSD). There are few PC ports in 2023 that just simply WORK and don't require tweaking to eliminate stutters or frame drops. A lot of this likely has to do with the use of Unreal Engine, which has matured into a well-oiled machine. The devs make full use of the engine, and the artists really put in the work with detailed architecture, interesting characters and enemies, and lots of atmosphere. - Gameplay is competent, albeit simple. To be clear this is a purely melee action game, with different weapons to collect and upgrade, but all being melee. This was likely done to keep the gameplay scope small enough for the devs to keep tight and retain the difficulty without having to balance or account for ranged classes and "cheese" mechanics. - Difficulty is in a nice spot in its current state (version 1.2). It is not as hard a game as any "legit" Souls title. It does have mechanics from many of From Software's games, but overall there were far less moments where I felt I had to perfect some specific mechanic to proceed. Parrying, perfect guarding, and other counter-based mechanics are here, they're not as well implemented as a game like Sekiro, but you can easily compensate in areas of your build to avoid using things you don't like. The Bad: - Some NPCs just look absolutely weird and out of place. The game has an overall realistic vibe going and then you'll meet an NPC here or there that looks like they were plucked from a cartoon. This is a bit nit-picky, but it did happen enough to pull me out of the world and make me notice. - There are some story elements that feel like the could have been more fleshed out, and there are characters introduced at various points that just felt like they appeared out of nowhere. I'm still not certain of the real motives of some villains after achieving the "best" ending, with a few characters feeling like they are just missing backstory that would have made more of the final events in the game impactful. I also think some of the nuance is missed if you didn't read the original tale (which I haven't but will be!) - Gameplay is a bit over simplistic at times, and the "mix and match" weapon system just never really clicked for me. I ended up sticking with one or two weapons and never really used any of the combinations you can make for more than a few minutes when the novelty of it wore off. - There are mechanics that aren't explained well, or even at all, that are crucial to mastering the game. I highly recommend looking to a guide on gameplay elements from the title, which I rarely ever do. Perfect guards, parrying, even some parts of the upgrade systems just aren't explained beyond a small blurb that pops up once they're introduced. Stats are simplified but obscured behind non-traditional naming conventions. You'll likely need a guide to explain what the real effects of certain stats are. - Weight plays too much of a role in gear and feels like a cheap way of maintaining balance. Re-balancing your character is not cheap after you've done so a few times, and eventually you might find yourself just dumping points into capacity to not have to worry about it. Some items help increase capacity (equivalent to Havel's ring in Dark Souls) but overall it just feels like it was a hastily implemented mechanic to keep players from just adding the best gear all at once. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the game, and achieved the "best" ending by simply playing the character, which is a great feeling. I enjoyed it enough that I'm going right into a new game plus...(NOTE: The game tries to warn you upon completion before starting a new **** NOT....I **** NOT start a new game from the initial ending **** can do it any time you want afterwards, there is no reason to do it from the ending "warning" screen, and you WILL be missing out on gameplay AND plot elements if you do) Highly recommend, even if you don't typically play souls games, it's not so ultra hard that only the masochists will like it, honestly!

One of the best Final Fantasy games in a long time, however the story is a mediocre rehash of previous final fantasy games (not naming which ones to avoid spoilers). The gameplay was also held back by some clumsiness in close quarters combat. I still recommend it for final fantasy and action RPG fans, it's a solid game.

Was fun for about 3 weeks, then got stale. Unlocking equipment is an incredible grind, this game is designed like a F2P game with microtransactions, and unlocking everything without paying is impossible. The game also uses P2P hosting instead of servers (**** 2017) which leads to incredibly long match load times and horrible, random lag spikes. It's a shame, the game had lots of potential, but Ubisoft ruined it with a few awful decisions. This game actually has turned me off from buying any future Ubisoft multiplayer games.

This game is pretty awesome. Controls are very confusing at first, it's a lot to take in, but honestly I find mastering the controls to be one of the more rewarding aspects of the game! I've been playing every star fox game since the original came out on SNES. I found the original game, and Star Fox 64 to be difficult early on as well (although it could have also been because I was like 10 years old), but the reward came from replaying the game over and over and mastering every level. My only gripe is that this is a reboot, or a "reimagining" of star fox/star fox 64. However, star fox was never known for it's story, it really doesn't have much of one to begin with, it's all about the gameplay. Gameplay-wise this is an excellent evolution of the series and I hope they continue on this path! So all of that being said, I would NOT recommend this game to anyone who really can't stand gyro controls, as the cockpit view and precision aiming is entirely controlled via gyro. It definitely takes some getting used to, and it constantly needs recalibration (accomplished simply enough by just pressing "Y" at any time, but still annoying nonetheless). If you don't mind the gyro controls though this game is a definite recommendation to anyone who is a fan of any of the star fox games, or to anyone who is interested in a challenging on-rails (except for all-range mode parts) shooter! There's a ton of stuff to master here, looking forward to replaying it over and over for years to come

It's a great shooter, the online elements work well for the most part (although I don't like that you can only do raids with friends and there isn't even the option for matchmaking), and it looks good. The RPG elements are OK, and the loot aspect is also just OK, definitely not as fleshed out as Borderlands. Honestly I think Borderlands 2 overall is a better game, but Borderlands 2 had a long time to add content. As a new IP though, Destiny needs to really make itself stand out and I'm not sure if it does just yet. I could definitely see people getting bored after a month or so, and the servers going stale similar to what happened with Titanfall. The game would have definitely been a 9 in my book had there been more of a story as well, as the game pretty much feels like halo (3 factions, one that is far more "sentient" and the other that is comparable to the flood in Halo) with even less story. TL;DR - It's an ok game that was definitely over-hyped, doesn't do anything better than similar games like Borderlands, and only time will tell if it can really keep everyone's attention for more than a few weeks, let alone spawn a franchise.

Pros: 1. Fast gameplay 2. Titans are really fun 3. Addictive challenge system (similar to battlefield 4's assignment system) 4. Smooth performance even at 1440p maxed settings and 16Q AA. Cons: 1. Atrocious matchmaking system (no private matches, no private servers, only "quick matches", no penalties for rage-quitters) 2. Awful bot and titan AI 3. 6v6 only, and if one player leaves the game unbalances very quickly as the difference in 1 less titan on the battlefield just kills it 4. Most guns have no recoil, even sniper rifles 5. Dated source engine, dated graphics 6. 50GB due mostly to uncompressed audio 7. Lack of content - maps are very similar, game modes are very similar Overall: Fun gameplay, the experience gets exponentially better if you have a few friends to form a team with. The lack of content though and really poor matchmaking system is going to severely decrease the lifespan of this game though, I can see myself getting bored within the month. I'm hoping map-packs and updates will extend the life of the game though, it's pretty fun.

I found this game to be pretty poor and I don't know how it passed nintendo's QA. 1st off, the game is full of bugs. My first play through, I fell through the floor near a save point. The game auto-saves due to it's quasi-perma-death mechanic. So it said I died, falling through the floor, auto-saved with no way to get my stuff back, but then it kept spawning me at the hole in the floor. So each time I tried to start from that save again it just threw me through the floor. So that was several hours lost after I had to delete my game and restart. I also ran into plenty of other game-breaking bugs in my several hours with the game. The graphics are just awful. I'd say they're comparable to launch xbox 360 games like condemned: criminal origins. They're just really bad and it's often hard to see what you're doing. The sound is awful too. Guns sound pathetically weak, zombies don't sound scary. Some reviewers here are saying this is a "true survival horror" game. I found the game neither scary, nor having any real aspect on survival other than the quasi-perma-death and 1-bite-death mechanics. Other than that many areas of the game can be beaten simply by tossing a flare and sprinting away. If you make it to a sewer hole it acts as a checkpoint. No real survival here... The gameplay is extremely basic. Melee weapons are boring consisting of one swing move. Guns are boring and feel unrealistic. The scanning mechanic to find items and stuff is **** about the 1st 5 minutes. Then after the 50th time you have to stop and scan a room using the wii u's game pad, it gets old and tedious. Honestly I'd say skip this game entirely. A select few may find something to like here, but the majority of people are going to find this a shockingly low quality, boring game that uses none of the wii u's functionality well at all.

Good game for the price, but many bugs (some game-breaking) and lack of content hold this back. As of now I'd give it a 6, if they fix the bugs and add a little more content (some more cosmetic upgrades and another weapon or two), and add dedicated servers and/or better matchmaking (right now it's only random quickmatch...acceptable for a console, but definitely not for a PC game) I'd give it a 7. Pros: Great graphics for a budget title, fun and fast paced horde-mode gameplay (waves of enemies coming at you), great game to play with 4 players Cons: BUGS!!!!, poor matchmaking system severely limiting replayability, lack of content

It's a bit rough around the edges, but I find this to be a great multiplayer game overall. Classes of dinosaurs and humans are widely varied, graphics are pretty decent, and the game is stable and runs smoothly for me. The things I find holding it back are lack of class progression/unlocks, and the only real customization is some skins you can pay for as DLC. I've had over 10 hours in the game though and still find it fun to pick up.

Hilarious and fun! If you've played games like "Octodad" and enjoyed them, you'll love this. Differences from the free original version are more surgeries (6 in total), a much more polished experience, and many secrets/easter eggs. I've played for a few hours already and the laughs haven't stopped. They've also tightened the controls enough where the surgeries are actually beatable. For those who have no idea what this game is you control the arm of a "surgeon" similar to a puppeteer controlling a marionette. Fingers are mapped to buttons and arm/wrist controls are done via mouse. The physics on everything is overly exaggerated. Combining this with the hilariously awkward arm controls means every movement you make is a recipe for disaster and some great laughs. Example: I picked up a drill accidentally by the drill bit and not the **** drill handle started spinning out of control, flailing about and obliterating the poor patient's ribcage in the process. I proceeded to use a hammer to open the rest of the ribcage, which got stuck in the patient between a lung and a rib. This is NOT a serious simulator game! I REPEAT: THIS IS NOT AN ACTUAL SIMULATOR! What this is, is a hilarious time waster that has been polished up enough to be an actual game. Not everyone enjoys these types of products, but if you're like me you'll be laughing until you cry and your sides ache.

Great graphics, decent combat (although sometimes repetitive), and a mediocre story. The RPG mechanics are well done for the most part. Several characters to choose from (you gain more along the way) and each can be individually leveled and geared. Combat consists of simplistic inputs similar to smash bros. However, technical issues mar this title. Frequent slowdown and input lag, in addition to some low quality audio (the static!) get in the way of enjoying what could have been a great game, that is now simply a "decent" game

"There is no such thing as 'release' for an online game" ~Sergey Titov That quote directly from the dev basically sums up everything wrong here. The steam store page for this game is laden with lies about what this game will deliver. For instance "the game supports up to 100 players". No, the game supports a maximum of 50 players on a server. They also say the game's maps are between 100 and 400 square km, when at MOST there are some that are a maximum of 100 square km. The dev's official response to the accusation that this was a lie? "Okay -- if text is saying "up to 100 players" -- yes, I may imagine situation when somebody will say "okay it HAVE TO BE 100." "Over 100 sq km" falls in "100 to 400" right?". These are direct quotes taken from a gamespot interview with the dev. To sum it up - the game was released in alpha stage quality, the devs later called it a "foundation release". It's a sloppy, buggy game, that is selling complete lies. This is NOT an MMO, this game does NOT support 100 players, the maps are NOT 100 to 400km. THERE IS ALSO NO SKILL TREE. Also should you die in the game you must pay REAL MONEY to respawn, or wait 4 hours. This game is one of the most falsely advertised products I have ever encountered, and I can only hope legal action is taken to force the developer to fully refund those duped by their marketing lies.
