I remember being a kid and playing as the little star character at my friends house for this game. Even playing as a "second player" the game was super fun. It has great level design, awesome music, and really fun gameplay. One of the best Mario games you can find out there.

This is a pretty fun match-3 game following the fantasy genre. Gems of War is really grindy so that's something to take into consideration before getting into the game. It's easy to farm most resources so there is no need to pay for any of the deals within the game. I would say it gets a little stale after awhile, but I normally have fun playing it in-between calls at work so that isn't a problem.

Apex Legends is an enjoyable battle royale that can be played on almost any system. I've been playing off and on since launch and one of the things that keeps me coming back is the amount of content added to the game. With every season they add new maps, characters, and switch up the weapons. This has kept the game from being stale and makes it more enjoyable overall. I would say the game is really just better when you have a full party but it can still be appreciated if you prefer to play solo.

If you are someone who has played other games in the Monkey Ball franchise, you have probably also noticed how this specific game does not live up to the expectations set by others in the franchise. I started with Monkey Ball 2 as a child and loved the game, I thought I would buy another Monkey Ball game and this is what I ended up with. The level design for the campaign isn't bad (although I didn't enjoy the boss fights very much). it's the same old same old kind of thing. The main issue I had with this game was the party games. They ****... really badly. I tried out each party game once and will never try them again. They are frustrating, simple, and not very fun to play. Monkey Ball 2 had racing, baseball, an arcade shooting game, etc. This game just had a bunch of simple boring games that had no replay value. That along with outdated mechanics made it a game not worth buying for me at least.

As someone who grew up with lego games I have never grown accustomed to enjoying the post 2012 changes lego games went though. I really enjoyed the pre-2012 (mumble) lego games and I always thought the dialogue took something away from the games. That being said, this is one of the first lego games post 2012 that I genuinely liked. The dialogue and voice acting was actually pretty good. Mark Hamel voiced the joker which was awesome. One addition that was appreciated was the open world area where you can mess around with characters and do miniquests. It's an evolution of lego games that actually feels like a major improvement. The main reason I took off points was because of the mission design and the slew of abilities and powers. The levels are more like one or two condensed areas that have too much stuff going on. The older games had the level design a bit more spread out and adventurous which I really prefer to cluttered and claustrophobic. It's also a bit overwhelming with how many different abilities you have to remember exist and some abilities are only used by one or two characters. Anyway, that's just what I thought of the game based on my biased opinion.

Since this is a remaster I was hoping they would have improved on a lot of the bugs in the game. I wasn't able to join the thieves guild because **** for on of the quest turn in locations. Other than that, this game is fantastic. The open world is fun to explore, there are lots of enemies to kill, the dungeons are exciting, etc. The story had a bit of an underwhelming finish but that didn't even matter because everything else was so much fun.

New World

New World has done a lot of good things for the MMORPG genre; that being said, they did a lot wrong as well. The game allows for players to play the game whatever way they choose. If you enjoy missions, dungeons, farming, etc. you have the freedom to choose how you want to play. That being said, there are certain things every MMORPG needs to have! 1. a dungeon que: every respectable mmorpg with dungeons has a way for players to get together with randoms and complete a dungeon. 2. late game content: This game really doesn't have much to do after hitting max level. You can compete in wars but with a dying player base that is near impossible. 3. good events: The winter event was not terrible but really didn't have much payoff for late game players. The rewards were **** gear and frozen furniture... not anything all that exciting. 4. mounts: Honestly, I hate walking so damn much in this game. Without mounts the game drags on and gets boring. Those are just my thoughts on the game. I hope to see some improvements in the 2022 year.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

This game really switched up the borderland mechanics with the low-gravity aspect in outer space. Although nothing can compare to the story from BL2 this game created one hell **** story. The boss battles were riveting and exciting, the guns were badass (as always) and the playable characters had awesome abilities. Overall, I was really impressed with the game and very much so enjoy playing it.

The game was good overall. I liked the guns, the fighting... not so much the story. Comparing this game to its predecessors there are stark differences in character development, storytelling, etc. BL3 just had such a short and unfulfilling story that it felt like a waste of money. The boss battles were alright and I didn't feel like I accomplished much by beating any of them. There are also a ton of bugs that make the game insufferable to play. I do still like borderland mechanics, and I did still want to finish the game, which is why I didn't give BL3 a lower score.

I played this game after Orcs Must Die Unchained was shut down and it was a massive downgrade. I love the idea of a third person defense game with buildable traps, but the execution wasn't on par with their other game. The characters had lame abilities and the weapons were underwhelming. The map design was ok but it felt repetitive after awhile. Having the multiplayer and defined heroes and villains in Orcs Unchained was just much better.

Hades is a fantastic game! As someone who enjoys learning about mythological pantheons this game provides in great detail the personalities and backstories of characters within the Greek pantheon. The gameplay itself is rewarding and the visuals are phenomenal. I would say as long as you enjoy the combat style the game has tons of replay value as well. 10/10 great game!

Dark Souls III

Dark souls is famous for its dark stygian setting and extremely difficult bosses. Well, this game followed the prompt to a T with it’s dark overtones and difficult gameplay. Dark souls 3 has improved significantly where combat and stamina are concerned. While the last installment struggled with overpowered shields, bad mechanics, and poor stamina regen, DS 3 overcame these mistakes and made a more balanced game. The lack of story told is cleverly construed within the items you find throughout the game and optional box storylines. The graphics are empirically better than DS 2 and the map design is flawless. The boss fights were some of the best in the series and left me with a feeling of accomplishment after I defeated them. Overall, they made significant changes to the series and came out with a much better game than the last. Ng + 7 get gud.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

Putting aside the ludicrous amount of hatred towards the WiiU, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate was one of the best installments the series saw. With new monsters such as the Brachydios, and elder dragons such as Jhen Mohran, monster hunter 3 saw a slew of memorable additions to the crew. And let’s not forget the water mechanics, that first cut scene in the water with Lagiacrus gave me chills. As someone who spent roughly 600 hours playing this game: 1. I obviously had no friends, 2. I think this game is one of the greatest installments for the MonsterHunter franchise.

A fun and challenging adventure, Super Mario Sunshine outshines all the competition (except for super monkey ball 2) as one of the best games out there. For a GameCube game, the graphics and open world aspect were amazing. The story posed challenging puzzles, wacky and complex map designs, and exhilarating boss fights. A precursor to my dark souls affinity, this games boss fights were ahead of its time inventing creative new ways to fight and defeat bosses. 9/10 wish I didn’t sell my GameCube

This game was an impactful part of my childhood. The main campaign has fun and exciting gameplay that challenges the user. The party games were innovative and never got old. I think out of all the games I played on the GameCube this particular game was a timeless masterpiece comparatively.
