Pros: Good graphics, lots of destruction and has soul unlike so many modern games. Cons: combat feels off. Lots of the enemy spawns are scripted and you get overrun. It means replaying the same fights over and over until you learn their paths - feels unnatural and it detracts from the story. Save points are all over the place too - sometimes you have to reply a few minutes to get back where you were. I've had save points save as you die and they you get in a death loop unless you load the last save. Also had the game crash twice.
The change in graphical style and the move away from a clear set of dungeons to complete is a bit jarring. The game doesn't have the same charm and simplicity as the earlier 2 - I found this game awkward and frustrating and the whole story ignores the second character if you play coop. I had to Google what things I was missing as the game didn't say. That said it was still fun and felt fairly polished, the inclusion of the gentlebros story was nice. Personally would have liked more guidance on what was missing or todo
Picked this up on a whim from the Playstation store after looking for something similar to Teardown and Minecraft - absolutely loved it. The missions are bitesized so it's easy to pickup and put down. There is a good variety of missions, vehicles and terrain. It's great fun to jump on and just mess about. Kept me entertained for about 25 hours. The build mode controls are very fiddly on playstation and the lack of zoom made it hard. The tutorials are pretty good tho and you can load existing vehicles which made the missions pretty easy. Would recommend!
Editing after playing another 10 hours or so - got this free on ps extra and still left a sour feeling in my mouth. Such a half baked game, weird collision physics, terrible tearing, last gen graphics, no destruction of the map debris, stupid trophy (perfect score)
Edit on 25th of November - after playing 75hours lowering my review to 1/10 until they fix the netcode issues. Amount of times I get killed through walls or shots don't register at all is mental. After the California update I'd go as far as to say it's unplayable. The stupid adverts are annoying but don't ruin the gameplay. Original review:
Half baked -maps are like cod, trophies broken, menus unintuitive. Gameplay meh. Save your money until they fix.
November edit: they keep messing about with the game but not fixing the issues. People still getting on roofs, netcode issues etc. Seem to have changed the handling of some guns and now it feels more unbalanced. Maps are already boring and have people camping in known spots.
Come back to it in Spring.
Leaving a poor review as this game is just not fun in my opinion. Having played similar games, this just seems to have messed up most of the missions. The difficulty options don't make any difference, the third one is way too difficult. Unless you want to use guides and feel like a chore, avoid.
When fall guys first came out it was a hit - easy to pick up, challenging and novel. But after promising a "new season" that brought barely anything new, more and more of the game feeling like luck and buggy trophies, it seemed to die over night.
Tried it again in 2025 and its not enjoyable any more in my opinion - the games are all the same, everyone knows the best routes and the rest just seems to be luck. Cosmetics now all revolving around micro transactions. Don't know how they got it so wrong.
Excellent story, fun multiplayer, good amount of collectibles and miscellaneous trophies.
Completely ruined by the gauntlet trophy - unnecessary and completely out of balance with the rest of the game. Master difficulty is 3/10 imo. Gauntlet is 9/10. Unless you get lucky you're looking at hours of grinding the same run hoping you don't just randomly lose speed. Let down by the devs
A beautiful open world racing game with some of the best racing game visuals I've seen. Large range of vehicles and a fair amount of customisation options. Playlists are somewhat engaging but there's no real story.
Some collectibles and challenges to do.
Some PvP modes too. Let down by:
Inconsistent AI - they can carry impossible speed in some places but most of the time they are too easy.
Buggy crew options - most of the time playing with friends did not.
Boring map - it's large and diverse but no jumps or secrets to find. The challenges are all trivially easy. Only the PvP element of challenges are challenging. Feels like a weaker version of NFS payback in that regard.
Unlocking parts for vehicles is confusing and inconsistent.
PvP modes are hit and miss - grand races are just bumper cars and glitches, demolition sometimes means one hit kills or invincible. Close to being a great game, but feels like it needed some more love.
I really enjoyed just cause 4 - the explosive nature of the map, good driving and flying mechanics and an okay story left it as one of my favourite games.
I really don't get the negativity of the reviews - it's not a perfect game - but I never had any major bugs, the vehicles were fun to drive, the challenges for the platinum were fun, the large explosive map stands out. The story is pretty forgettable but I really hope we get a just cause 5.
Really fun game, interesting story and quirky graphics. Ended up really disliking the game after going for all the chests as the difficulty is too high in places - having to replay the same thing 500 times with no checkpoints and a 7 second respawn when playing in 2 player is painful. The controls sometimes feel glitchy or off and it just stops being fun. The amount of times it feels like you insta-death because a control didn't work is enough to ruin the game. Me and my partner were left with a sour taste.
Great setting but the actual gameplay is quite poor in my opinion. Broom controls are terrible. Glitched trophie. No restart options.
Feel like the reviews are overly positive from Harry potter fans and not objective reviews
Completely unplayable without a guide - no hints, no direction just madness.
With a guide to show you what and where you need to go it's fun to try and get away from the AI.
Annoying loosing items or saves loading to random locations.
After seeing the other reviews I picked this hoping for a Portal experience - was left disappointed.
The graphics feel blurred and cheap and gave me and my partner motion sickness.
The puzzles didn't feel satisfying to solve.
First game in a long time I didn't bother to finish.
Disappointing.
Picked this up for free as part of PS Extra - feels unpolished and half-arsed.
Loading times are abysmal.
Handling with medium traction control is dreadful on controller - with full traction control it's ridiculously easy.
Most of the trophies are bugged.
Breaking point story is boring.
Avoid.
Had given 3 stars but dropped to 1 after seeing how broken raked is
Playing on PS5 in 2023 and the game is great.
I believe I'm about half way through and have not had any bugs so far, game play is solid and good fun.
Would be nice to have some more vehicles.
A unique puzzle game that feels rewarding. None of the puzzles require you to start from scratch if you mess up which is a nice change.
It's very short but I picked it up on PS extra for free.
Could have been great but ruined by constant glitches and crashes.
Trophies are really buggy - comic trophy won't unlock even though I've read them all 3 separate times.
Avoid.
In my opinion this is the worst game in the LBP/sackboy series due to the weird/inconsistent/broken camera angles and aspect ratios.
The game seems obsessed with having the camera at a weird angle where you cannot see what is happening properly - the jump perspective ends up being completely off and this just makes the game unnecessarily frustrating.
I've had so many glitches with jump just not working, getting caught on invisible edges and falling off ground which I appear to be on.
Some of the levels where the animations match the music go slightly out of sync and this makes the buttons feel laggy.
Lots of the game feels slow and bloated - moving between levels, end screen taking photos etc.
Pros:
- Can play offline.
- Lots of cars and tracks.
- Trophies are good.
- Driving is consistent. Cons:
- AI is very basic.
- Progression can be a bit grindy.
Pros:
- Chess game with reasonable graphics.
- Challenges mode is okay. Cons:
- Trophies are poorly designed.
- Tournament mode doesn't work at all.
- Lots of cheaters.
- Very slow to load and to move pieces.
Pros:
- Enjoyable open world racing game.
- Graphics are okay.
- Fair number of cars and customisation options. Cons:
- Nothing new from NFS heat really.
- Races are very repetitive.
- Cops are too easy.
- Rubberband AI.
- Online is limited.
- Collectables have no challenge to them (unlike previous games).
- Frame rate drops if multiple online players on screen.
- Car handling is not great.
- Car rating system is broken.
Pros:
Fun game with lots to build and customise. Not had any graphical issues or crashes.
Full control over saves. Cons:
Controls are inconsistent.
Icons are not obvious and there is no way to see what some of them mean without Googling it.
Few glitches with traffic and hydrodams.
No undo option.
