Gears of War 47
Oct 13, 2016
It's far from bad but it's also a ways away from great. It does improve the combat system from Gears of War 3 and is a total overall improvement over Judgement BUT the storytelling and amount of content (at launch) is SO weak compared to Gears 3 that it's almost painful. The horde mode is fun but the class system isn't as deep as it could be, and again, the content to be unlock just feels weak. I'm sure after some DLC this game will feel more full, but right now it feel like a step between Gears 3 and Judgement.

Personally, a very buggy start to a game I was very excited for. Playing through the games normally doesn't seem to cause any issues, but when going through the challenge lists I have run into a total game freeze multiple times as I am finishing a challenge. The game collection is great but doesn't offer many additional features other than basic cheats like rewinding time or unlimited life. Most games run great but a few seem to have a hard time, like Jet Force Gemini or Conkers Bad Fur Day. The collection is worth the price but just a buggy start when exploring what all it has to offer, and with a lack of too many features or even a 'remastered' option it leaves a bit to be desired. SIDE NOTE: Several of the more recent games that were available on the Xbox Arcade (Perfect Dark, Jetpack Reloaded, Banjo-Kazooie, ect) are not played from the disk like the rest of the games but instead are actually installed as separate games that use the backwards compatibility feature.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited6

This game is fun but the server stability and having to play around so many other random players ruins the experience. It would be great to have private worlds that consist of friends and private parties, but when I have to leave an area again and again only to come back and find that some other random player completed the mission that I was working on and now need to wait for story elements/characters to reappear so I can do it is just annoying. Some days can be just fine and others can be amazingly bad to the point where I can't even sprint in the game without latency issues slowing the game down and making it amazingly choppy. Several fans will say, "that's what patches are for", which is true, but to be waiting in the queue for nearly 15 minutes to even be able to play after four days post game launch is just unacceptable. Good game but would be much better WITHOUT the true MMO style and stuck to invite only worlds.

Resident Evil: Revelations 29
Mar 18, 2015
(Disk version reviewed) Easily surpasses the previous entry and is a blast **** with a solid mix of the campaign horror and puzzle solving from older entries but with the mix of action that the entries since RE5 have brought us, and an added bonus that you don't need to have played the previous 'Revelations' game to jump into this one. The story isn't too over the top but the eccentric characters are exactly what you would expect from a RE title. The first 'Revelations' game got to be a bit much and seems to drag on, but this really does blow that out of the water and even though it is an episode themed game it doesn't have that feeling of trying to hard to be a TV show. The 'Raid Mode' is where the replay really shines here, which is a co-op style of what was previously known as 'Mercenaries' but with a total emphasis on the leveling up of unique character abilities and even the collection and customization of weapons. The game looks amazing and stays at such a smooth and beautiful frame rate, easily surpassing several other full-priced titles out now. At the time of this review the online co-op for raid mode had not yet been enabled but does support split screen play as well as further game enhancement for those registered to **** which tracks gameplay and offers more bonus items. Very close to a perfect entry in my eyes; the only thing that would make this game better would be more of a range of weapons to be found in raid mode, which in the previous 'Revelations' entry it was a seemingly endless amount of a variety of guns whereas in 'Revelations 2' its very quick you notice you are finding the same weapons over again just at a higher level. A great play for action or horror lovers and a must own for any Resident Evil fan.

Silent Hill HD Collection7
Feb 19, 2015
To call put the tag 'HD' into this collection is a little deceitful being that not a lot was remastered from the original games to make them the 'HD' we are used to seeing in collections like this; HOWEVER, it doesn't keep these games from being what they were in the first place, which are amazing must plays for horror lovers. They do carry over a few bugs into the next generation consoles but not enough to cripple the game play or really interrupt the horror and suspense the series is known for. A little more of a remaster, a cut down on some of the mild bugs along with some bonus features would had gotten this collection a higher rating from me.

Easily one of the best, gritty and cinematic stories I've ever played. All of the previous mechanisms that made the series great are back and perfected to make the experience like none other. The game looks perfect, the story is never boring and keeps you wanting to play. This game would be getting a perfect rating if it wasn't for a few small things like the clunky multiplayer mode, the longer than usual load times and the over the top difficulty at time. This is easily a game that I keep coming back to after many years.

Evolve7

Evolve brings something fresh and new to both the first person shooter genre but also class based shooters, but at the cost of repeatedness, BUT at least it's something different than the same old and tired Call of Duty recipe over again. Almost every FPS get extremely repetitive but at least have other game modes to offer, where as Evolve does not. Don't get me wrong, the game play is very fun and taking turns as each character/class makes it feel even better. The game does still suffer from a few bugs (including falling through floors) as well as an 'aiming down the sights' mechanic that can cause very inaccurate shooting giving the monster a very unfair advantage at times. The online game play is enough to earn this game high marks in my view but the lack of game modes does bring it down, but still, a very fun and unique game for people looking for something other than the same old tired Call of Duty recipe.

Destiny5
Jan 28, 2015
Beautiful but very empty, uninspired and repetitive. 'Disappointing' is the best way to sum it up after all the hype they game got and for the names behind it and serves as a shining example of why the idea of 'pre-ordering' is now a horrible thing and why developers need to find better ways to get us on board with a game other than offering some kind of exclusive for buying it before knowing what we'll really get. Very playable and can be very exciting at times, but it's too often that it's broken up by long boring missions that you've done many times over. Most events in the campaign will involve guarding something from a 'horde mode' style attack. The biggest let downs are: 1) for a game to brag about customization only to require you to use the greatest/strongest armor doesn't count as customization. Yes, you can pick what COLOR you are, but as far as what armor you are wearing you must wear the best if you with to progress. 2) The story is unfinished... Yes, if you bought this for the campaign alone then prepare for an unfinished story UNLESS you fork out $15 for every bit of DLC thats planned for the next several years 3) No exploitation in the time there actually is story. Who are these guys? Why am I killing them? What do they want? You don't know, and you'll be left not knowing. This game is just a shell of what could be an amazing game but instead just ended up being a hype machine that wants you to pay and pay and pay for more content. The only time this game really shines is in the Crucible, which is the competitive player vs player matches.

One for everyone to enjoy, especially anyone who like the Sim City games. For those who are fans of the series they will be sad to find that even though this game looks much better, that everything else has been amazingly simplified, making it very easy to breeze through the game. No complaints about this title really, other than the fact that it gives you such a big canvas to work with (open land) but only lets you fill it with a small set number on animals. It is an acquired taste and can be hard to anyone other than a very casual gamer or fans of the simulations gene to get into. Nothing amazing but far from bad.

Literally near endless amount of fun (party game wise) for the decent price tag. For those who already cleared all the questions in Fibbabe, the updated version (Fibbage XL) included offers so so so many more. Between Fibbage and Drawful it will be hard to get tired of this game. You Don't Know Jack is really the only game included that you can play solo, the others will require at least 3 or more people to get the best experience. Can't recommend this enough, or get enough of it. While having people over we have easily gone into the early hours of the morning without noticing it just from wanting to keep playing these games over and over and keep us laughing hysterically. This is also a collection that is easy to include family and older people at the gathering, as long as they have a touch screen phone/tablet with a wifi connection to play.

The flying combat can be very fun at times but is broken up by dialogue that is trying to piece together a story, but fails. The controls are a bit to get used to but once you have them down the combat is enjoyable. Very repetitive so can be a good game in small doses. Easily worth it when the game was free but not something that offers enough that I would pay for. The addition of online or co-op would make this game leaps and bounds more enjoyable.

Good game in small doses. Worth the free price tag (while it was) but not something I would pay for. Nothing too exciting and gets very repetitive. Its fun getting started but then you realize how limited the 'free flying' is and that your options are limited as far as weapons and dragons. Can be very difficult at times but it seems like its more because of the sluggish controls rather than the enemies themselves.

Resident Evil HD Remaster9
Jan 28, 2015
The best version of the game yet. The game looks and sounds amazing (not that there was anything wrong with the original horrible voice overs). The controls do still leave a bit to be desired at times, but in keeping the eerie camera angles I can understand them following through as well. Some new additions add to the replay-ability of the game, including the link to **** and having the ability to play the game with alternate costumes from other games (effects all characters), however other than just the shiny new spit shine the game doesn't bring much new, in fact, there was one or two cut scenes in the game that were pulled directly from the GameCube version that hadn't been edited at all so it suddenly goes from looking amazing to cut sense that is very grainy and low quality. Not saying this game isn't amazing, because it is, but the addition of another alternate story mode, game mode or some other unlockable would had made this perfect. The only reason it isn't getting a perfect score if because it didn't bring many new features to the table, but that's to be expected with a HD remaster.

Dying Light8

Finally, a zombie game that feels fresh. The first thing that really stands out to me in this game, and others have said it, is the story but also the unique music. The story is definitely deeper than what any preview made it out to be and combined with music that sounds like something out of a John Carpenter movie (with that deep gloomy synth overtone) it really does make this game feel like you are playing the roll of a modernized 1980's George Romero zombie movie. The controls are very tight and easy, which is a nice change of pace from the very comparable 'Dead Island' games. The upgradable progress trees can be a little confusing but mainly just because they are so massive with so many routes to go, but that's not so much a bad thing. I keep reading a lot about how great the graphics are, which they are good, but could be much better especially when it comes to the environment which seems very repetitive and bland at times. With them pushing the parkour elements everything looks great from the routes they makes it clear you should take (the high road on rooftops) but when you spend time on the ground level it becomes very blah looking, specifically any large bodies of water which seem to have no movement or animation. The interface of the game almost reminds me of 'Fallout 3' as far as having to build items, repair weapons as they become damaged, keep an inventory, finding safe places to sleep and pass time, and even the way the camera zooms in when having a dialogue with other characters (which is a good thing in my mind). The game play is very is very reminiscent of 'Dead Island' but much deeper with a heavy, heavy, heavy emphasis on the parkour elements. You will be going on several 'go fetch this' or 'go rescue him' missions, but the dynamic of time sensitivity with the day and night makes it feel really fresh. The co-op and counter-op ability is really fun too, as well as the options to keep your game private in both senses of having people being able to drop in to play along side with or keeping it private yet keeping the counter-op open letting somebody fill the role of the zombie stalking you down. All-in-all the game is refreshing for its genre but can get a bit stale at times, however, the action and deeply gloomy feeling this game delivers in the bigger missions and deep story more than makes up for it.

Fun game with a retro feel in all senses: graphics, music, limited checkpoints and DIFFICULTY! Defiantly and 'acquired taste' kind of game, but if you love retro hack and slash games, then this will be right up your alley. Game can be frustrating with lots of 'trial and error' that will have you playing the same entire level over and over again. Once you get past how hard the game can be it really is fun and rewarding. Very limited replay with only one game mode, one difficulty and no online capabilities.

D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die8
Jan 14, 2015
An insanely quirky game that changes the mood extremely often and stays fresh. I see this game has gotten some flack for being so strange and pointless, but I can assure you that the ones saying this just aren't diving into the game as much as they should. The first season can be cleared pretty quickly if you just do what is required of you, but if you take the time to search things out and read all the clues then you'll get much more of an experience from it. Even taking the quick route, this game is fun and does have some good mystery elements. At times it can be so overly quirky that it's painful but it just adds to the screwball cast of the mystery. After downloading this game at no cost I can't say that I have any complaints other than a few random graphical issues here and there. There is a lot of content here to find and unlock which really does give you more of an urge to replay the first episodes which in turn you have you finding and seeing things that you didn't catch the first time. A game I highly recommend to fans of 'Catherine' or even the quirkiness of 'Resident Evil: Revelations', because this is how the mood and characters of D4 feel. Fun while it lasts, but not a huge amount of replay in this first season (prologue and 2 episodes) and defiantly has you eagerly waiting for the sequel.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection9
Dec 29, 2014
A huge amount of content and fun for the price. Most buyers have likely played through the entire campaign of all the games included, but it is fun to relive and play them again. Playing the early games again is a bit off-putting at first because of the odd and floaty controls but once you get them down again it's amazing to relive the game from the beginning, and having them remastered. With everything included from all 4 of the games (including online capabilities added to Halo 1 and 2, as well as all the Spartan Ops missions from Halo 4) this game is easily a no-brainer investment for Halo fans or anyone that doesn't still own and original Xbox with the entire series of games. The only reason I'm not giving this game a higher rating is because there are a few bugs (included from the first 2 games) that were included in the remaster that are yet to be fixed at the time of this review. There was also an issue with matchmaking early in the launch (causing players to sit in the lobby for upwards to 30 minutes waiting for a game) but it seems to have been corrected.

A beautiful FPS that really does make you feel like you are toe to toe with the **** scum. For having an older engine this game looks and sounds amazing. W:TNO really doesn't bring anything new to the table, but it does bring characters, plot, game play, music and everything else together so well that it will have you on the edge of your seat and wanting to play it through the end (even multiple times). The only things that keep this game from being absolutely perfect is the lack of online of any sort (which really hurts the replay value, a lot) and not including more nods to the original games other than the 'throwback' dream sequences set to the tune of the classic PC games. Other than those drawbacks, this game is a must play for next-gen FPS fans.

Forza Horizon 28
Dec 17, 2014
Forza turns down the hardcore realism and drifts into open world arcade style racing. The most deceiving thing about this game is that is has the name 'Forza' on it, which most associate with the Gran Turismo style tuning and realism, not that it's a bad thing. FH2 has you doing some wacky things racing through corn fields at 120 miles an hour, but they make it look amazing and fun to play. Again, this is an arcade style game so it's the type where you hit a wall going full speed and you just bounce off, and it's nice to see a game like this outside of the bored 'Need for Speed' world. This really does feel like a fresh version of the open world 'Need for Speed' games with visuals that will have your parents thinking they are watching a real race. In short, wouldn't recommend this game for the tuners looking for realism, but more the people that went to the local arcade to enjoy games like 'Cruisn USA'.

An amazing puzzle/platformer that has so much more to it than meets the eye! Simple to grasp and dive into with game play and sound track that keeps you playing. This is the kind of game that really is for about everyone; play through once and just solve the simple puzzles, or play again and actually dive into the language of the game and find yourself decoding hieroglyphics on the walls. Fez is very satisfying and never gets the feeling of becoming old. I was quite sad to figure out that this game would not be getting a sequel and that the creator ended up being a huge tool. The only thing that got this game a below perfect rating is the fact that it doesn't offer any kind of co-op and the fact that developer Phil Fish insulted so many fans, and really all gamers, after it's release.

Dragon Age: Inquisition8
Dec 17, 2014
I can see why fans of previous games in the series are a little upset by this entry since it plays more like Diablo 3 but with an over the shoulder camera. The RPG elements are great and feel more like something closer to Skyrim than anything else. To call this game 'open world' is a little deceiving since the map itself is very massive, but you can only travel in portions of the map at a single time without having to load the next. The areas are still quite huge and can take up to half an hour to trek from one side to the other on foot. The campaign is very very long, in fact, you don't even see the opening title/credits until you are close to 2 hours into the game. The exploration of the land is satisfying but feels more like something out of Fable than anything else, just in the sense that you never go into any large structures that require any paused loading, but more you are spending most of the time in very open outdoor areas with the occasional entering of a small structure to either pick up a mission or buy goods. The graphics is this game is where I have my only real issue. Playing the the Xbox One the graphics don't resemble those of a next gen game, but the massive world does. I've had many times during an in-game cinematic where objects, landscape or people will just suddenly appear or pop into close frame. This isn't a huge drawback because it seems to only happen during cinematic; I haven't run into any delayed draw distances or anything while in live game play. In short, this is a satisfying game of the genre that will have you playing for a long long time and a combat system that can be set up for anyone's play style. The only thing that would get this game a higher rating would be the correction of graphical glitches and just the overall graphics themselves. I understand the shine of the game took a hit on account to make it as massive as it is, but it really does look like something you'd expect from previous generations. (In fact, I would assume there is no difference in graphics between previous and current gen consoles)

This action spin-off of the main series would be fun if it didn't feel so odd to play and actually gave some progression as far as story. The control in the game just feels so floaty, and for me that is easily the worst part. Everything about this game just seems half-assed. The characters seem like they could be cool, but you never really get to learn anything about them. The story tries to intersect the plots of the main games but really misses the mark. The idea of this game was really cool but it really didn't work out. Fans of the series will be hugely disappointed but non-fans may find a somewhat enjoyable game here.

A good attempt at trying to pull off the mix of horror and action to please everyone, but just wasn't executed well. This story can be very over the top at times, which is normal for a Resident Evil game, but RE6 takes it to a new level. The co-op modes are fun, like the timed survival, but the campaign leaves a lot to be desired. The Leon campaign does feel familiar, and in my opinion the best of the main three, but again it just gets to a point where the action takes over and is way too over the top. If it wasn't for the characters involved, this really wouldn't feel like a Resident Evil game at all. A decent game that can be fun to play at times, but doesn't hold up anywhere close to the series it is branching from.

An amazing 'God of War' style blood fest that will keep fans and non-fans of the Castlevania series playing for well over 20 enjoyable hours. If it wasn't for the poor camera at times this game would be perfect. Not to give anything away, but this game still to this day has the ending that has blown me away more than any other I've ever seen. With several difficulty selections and many unlockables to find, it is easy to find yourself wanting to play this until you reach that 100% completion. CONS: - Poor camera makes it very hard to see at times - Sometimes unclear what direction to proceed (mostly due to camera) PROS: - Don't need to be follower of series to jump in a play - Very satisfying game play and progression - Amazing visuals and music - Fun puzzle solving to break up the action (which you can skip at the cost of experience)

A good stand alone game, but a very very disappointing sequel. Lords of Shadow will always be one of the best Castlevania games, and one of the most playable overall games. I think where LOS2 failed is the mixing of the old and new. This game felt more like the reboot of Devil May Cry (DMC) than it did an open-world Castlevania title. The play mechanics are fun, and it feels good to upgrade your character as you progress through the story, but once you see that you are working against an evil corporation that is run by evil, it just feels corny. The characters and 'God of War' style game play is fun and strong but the story nearly stops the game in it's tracks. As a fan, this is a disappointing game to end the story of the previous game which easily had the most jaw dropping conclusion I've seen. Although this game is nothing truly amazing, it is fun and stylish enough to keep you playing and wanting to keep going. Between the unique visuals, fun puzzle solving, fitting music and the cheesy dialogue it's a very nice experience. Feels like a retro arcade 'Gaultlet' style game but with Halo graphics slapped on it. The fact that nothing new was really added in the port, other than a few levels or co-op online play, is very disappointing. It really does show that this game was not designed for these next gen consoles, but again, being that it was a free game for a time then it is worth playing a few levels.

Great fun for gatherings of 4 or more, especially for the cheap price tag. Fooling and lying to your friends has never been so fun and you really get to know the people you are playing with as the answers get more outrageous. A must have for the person that enjoys having people over. The only drawbacks to this game is that you rely on an internet connected device (cell phone, tablet, ect) to play and after so many rounds you may not have enough chargers to keep everyone playing, but also that there is a lot of content in this game but after you've played so many times (around 20 short rounds or so) with the same group of people you notice that the questions begin to repeat often. Same formula from previous games but with a script that tries to be way too funny for itself. These games have always been a riot but it seems with this one the new ideas ran short. It still a decently fun experience to be had, but it's too often that you are hearing the same 'trying to be funny' lines over and over again which cuts into what makes these games fun. There are a few small flaws but as everyone else is saying this game really does just feel like a giant DLC more than it's own game. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare8
Dec 9, 2014
Classic 'Call of Duty' with a dash of Halo: Reach and a pinch of Titanfall. First off: the classic Call of Duty fans should know that this game does include a 'classic' playlist online which excludes any of the new exo abilities, that being said, I think this game keeps a nice balance of old and new to keep a good median of the fans pleased. Like any other Call of Duty game, yes, it does feel like that same thing that we get year after year with not a lot of new things being brought to the table. The game does bring the use of the 'exo suits' in which give the game that feeling of Titanfall pilot play being able to double jump and turn invisible. At first the gun selection felt very weak, but once you realize that you earn different and better variations of each gun as you progress adds a new sense of accomplishment and loot. Other than the addition of the exo suits (which give you the ability to double jump, hover, and a number of other futuristic abilities) it really is the same old Call of Duty. The fact that they brought back my personally loved 'Infection' mode was a huge plus being it's been absent since Modern Warfare 3. I think most multiplayer fans will be happy since they have playlists to suit just about everyone's wants, plus it brings back the fun of custom emblems that I know I missed the most when Ghosts was launched. As far as the story goes, I can say this is the first campaign in the Call of Duty series that I got into really easily and I think it really is mostly because of the character they built for Kevin Spacey. It really does have the same linear missions that they always have been, but Spacey does bring that cinematic feel to it that makes it feel like something other than the same old predicable story lines these games have always been. In all; the game is what it is, just another entry in the Call of Duty lineup that will never end, but it did change it up enough from those before it to make it fun again without feeling like you are just playing the same game from last year. These games always lack real variety, but really, when all you are doing is: spawning, shooting, dying and repeating there isn't a lot of variety to be had but at least it's different enough from those before it that it does make it fun again. I know for a lot of people these games are guilty pleasures because you don't want people to know that all you do is play the same 8 maps over and over killing mouthy 12 year old boys, well, this latest entry really is guilty pleasure worth even though not a lot has really changed over the span of the past 5 entries. So, a hit in points because it's the same old thing, but still a high score for bringing future to the table without making it a 'Halo' game with spaceships, lasers and aliens... oh wait, they do have lasers. What most people need to understand is that it's not the game itself that makes the online play for most people enjoyable, but more the people playing it who take the time to find ways to exploit and even cheat by controlling your spawn points and camping them out; those people will always be around to ruin the fun of those that are just playing to have a good time.

Innovative and extremely fun but lacks any real customization. I am going to overlook the fact that the campaign of this game really is just the same as any other multiplayer match but with a short cinematic in between being this game was advertised as 'online required'. This game brings a lot of great things to the table like the ability to play as on-ground pilots with parkour style movement or as giant controllable mechs, and there is no point that you are in either that you feel like either isn't a threat to bringing you down. The pilots have a fair amount of weapons to chose from, including ones specifically designed to bring down a titan from a distance. The titans do feel like they lack as far as available weapons. Both titans and on-ground pilots do have some cool abilities to make different styles of game play better. For what it is this game is nearly perfect in my mind, but it's the lack customization that brings it down a bit for me. The only way to alter the appearance of you pilot is really only based on what weapon class that pilot is holding, and the titans really don't really have any kind of visual customization at all. They give you a hint that emblems earned (for meeting certain milestones, just like the Call of Duty games) that you have selected will be seen by other players on your titan, but really it just shows up on your gamer card. In all; the game play is amazing and fun but the lack of customization does leave just that small bit more to be desired.

The Evil Within8

The Evil Within is what you get when you take Resident Evil 4 and put a heavy push on stealth based in a world that seems along the lines of Inception. This game takes a lot of great elements from other amazing games (horror and action elements) and puts them together in a good way but based in a world with kind of a weak story. Maybe weak is a harsh word, but the story is slow to start. It seems that a lot of people give up on this game early, but it's not until the 4th or 5th chapter that the story reaches that point where you find yourself unable to put the controller down. The crafting system is pretty neat; it almost feels like something out of Fallout or RAGE where you have to find so many parts from enemy items that you dismantle throughout levels, but it is nice in the way that it will reward those you take their time to find these things to be able to built heavier hitting ammo and such. The aspect ratio of the entire game is annoying until you realize that the screen is shrunken like that to create a feeling of claustrophobia that does at times have you leaning from side to side on your couch like it going to help you see whats around that corner. The combat system really could use some cleaning up; they do keep ammo limited (in the harder modes) so you have to rely on hand to hand combat on those you don't sneak up on, but it just seems so slow and blocky when you try to play fisticuffs with a baddie. The weapons system does do well and firing guns feel realistic to the point where you will be yelling for that shotgun to reload faster. The player progression and upgrade system is a nice touch too, rewarding character attributes (like health, run distance, ect.) or can use your points towards giving your weapons a little more punch. In all, The Evil Within is a very enjoyable game but it just takes getting past the slow (and mildly confusing) start. Hardcore horror fans will see the plot as being pretty weak and predictable but those who are new to the genre will enjoy the jumps, twists and gore this game has to offer. The main reason I am giving this game a slightly lower rating is because of the fact that it really does pull a lot of things straight from Resident Evil series, which the 4th might be one of the best horror games of all time, but the predictable plot and sluggish combat system makes it hard to hold it anywhere close to Resident Evil, which it is trying hardly to be with the same 'burning dead bodies or the come back' aspect and even an appearance from a chainsaw wielding fellow with a bag on his head.

Alien: Isolation8
Dec 8, 2014
An 'Alien' fans wet dream... From the second you start the game it really does feel like you are playing out the movie, with spot on design that makes you want to explore and look at things just for the sake of seeing how many times you get that feeling of nostalgia when you see an item you remember from the movie. The story is great, and about as believable as it's going to get without being too over the top or skewing from the story line the movies have already set in stone. The only complaints I have about the game is that it can be buggy at times (like when the alien is feet away and looking right at you, but then suddenly turns away like it forgot you were there), but that is easily overlooked since it is rare. Second complaint would be that it can be very difficult at times, not because of the alien, but because of the amount of 'Working Joe' synthetic bots you have to sneak around or fight. The game is great at creating that tension and fear that you felt the first time watching 'Alien', but it does get put to a halt when you realize you have to sneak around a Joe for the 50th time. Other than that, the game is perfect. If you are playing with a good sound system or a decent set of headphones then there isn't a doubt that you will be suffering from sweaty palms throughout this entire game as you hear the alien crawling in the vents above you just as you were about to take out another crazed survivor. The story mode of this game is a total winner and the 'survivor' mode can be fun but turns into nothing more than a 'try to get lucky' sprint to the finish line to get a top time on the leader boards. The little replay value and few bugs (at this point) are the only reason this game is not getting a perfect rating. If developers were to somehow work co-op or even a counter-op multiplayer in some way this game would get an 11.
