This season brings the show back to life with the introduction of the adult world, Doomsday and Green Arrow/Oliver Queen. Seriously want to see a Green Arrow spin-off in Star City, and I'm fairly sure fans would follow such a series. Big-ups to Justin Hartley for winning over an audience quickly within a very well established show. We lose Jimmy Olsen this season and I cannot understand why the writers chose this. Jimmy is Superman mainstay. So down 3 points for that but up 2 points for Justin. So I give this season a 9.

This show is pointless and that's what's good about it. If you've ever felt like you don't know where you're going in life; if you've ever made dumb decisions, if you've ever had friends who stand by you despite those dumb decisions, then male or female you can identify with the shows protaganist, Hank Moody. With a hedonistic bent this series is hilarious and at times just a tad too over the top.

What is so disappointing about this series is that we know the Myths of Camelot are an oral tradition spoken from the side of the victor, to describe the patriarchal take-over of matriarchal culture prior to the Roman Empire and this series pays no homage to this at all. It stays within the narrow constructs of men vs women where the men are kings and warlocks and the women are evil witches. There is no balance in story-telling between the old ways of paganism and earth worship with the new ways of patrilineal monarchy. In short, it is genderized and polarized. Unfortunately, it is entertaining enough for young people to watch and have their minds bent toward a 'goodies' and 'badies' version of cultural genocide where the so-called 'goodies' are the perpetrators of violence and warfare.

Killing off Rita was a fantastic move as she was just such a limiting character on our main Characters development. It really gave scope for Dexter to discover his own emotions and realize that he does feel. This realization is what enables him to develop a new relationship where he doesn't hold back the darkest parts of himself. He loses the code in emotional moments and we see our serial killer make mistakes, re-find himself and re-find his code. Brilliant season. Julia Stiles was wonderful as Lumen and I hope to see her return in future seasons. I am slightly concerned with the size 0 or size 00 sister who is looking unhealthy skinny. So much so, I cringed in her near nude scenes. YUK!

Too many characters pass through this season with old characters drifting in & out sporadically. We have very few solid cast members with a decent amount of air time. They do poke a bit of fun at their own story lines by pointing out how ridiculous events have been - this a little reminiscent of One Tree Hill. Sometimes the characters are a little too mature like when Dan doesn't seem to mind much when Serena moves her new beau into his house and dates this guy right in front of him. I think the majority of guys would call her selfish bi##ch for that kind of behaviour! Bass Industries appears to be open for theft, yet again. The writers may need to come up a with a new story-line! Overall, its good but not gripping. If it ends here I think few would badly miss it (though some would). If it does continue, I believe they need to do quite an overhaul to avoid repeating storylines.

This show is watchable. That's about the best that can be said about it. It is, in a nutshell, the most male-centric series ever created. The main female characters are what is called, 'Tropes'. A trope is a character whose sole purpose is to further the development of another character. The other female parts are all sex objects. And here I was thinking women made up half the population of the world and actually had destiny's of their own - silly me! I have to agree with the professional reviewers here. It's highly likely the user reviews are made up solely of fans because this show does not deserve anything above a 5 out of 10 for it's obvious male-centric, white-centric, christian-centric plot; it's rip off of the 'Charmed' storyline and it's reliance on some hot actors to get by.

Again, I'm giving an 8 out of 10 score. The 2 points down are for some of the acting to resemble that of a daytime soap-opera full of characters talking to each others backs and having elongated staring instead of actually answering one another's questions. PLEASE Smallville directors - STOP this shoddy blocking immediately! People in the reality face one-another when having a conversation & no, it isn't 'clever' filming technique. As for the storyline - lovely & dramatic, never a dull a moment, almost. This brings me to the 2nd point marked down. A 1940's episode? Really? Ok, so every tv show & its dog have done a 1940's episode whereby a character sleeps or is knocked unconscious while watching old movies. Boring, seen it before and it does NOT further the storyline. In short, miss this episode & you've missed nothing. BORING! Lana Lang finally dies - THANK GOD! That was long overdue. Lets just hope they don't pull a daytime soap storyline with her faking her own death. If so, unimaginative! Get it?

This season has kept up the good work from Season 4. Clark's Superman-In-Training season where he learns about loss. Unfortunately the writers chose to have Jonathon Kent die & Lana Lang live. I've mentioned how I think she's the weakest character on this show several times, so it should come as no surprise when I say the writers chose the wrong character to live. However, Lana & Kent's break-up - brilliant. Hopefully he'll realize Chloe is the one although with Lois Lane in the picture this is highly unlikely. Poor Chloe (my favorite character). Still the soundtrack & sound-effects are a bit shoddy and in many places you can pick what is actually being used to make the noise - not good. Tom Welling does a brilliant job of growing up a bit in this season & I look forward to seeing him take on the role of Clark as an adult. Lex Luthor still comes across as a poor misunderstood good guy in a black suit. It seems he's falling but his heart is still struggling to stay true. He's character assassinated by Clark on many occasions leaving the impression that Clark is being unjustly judgemental.

First off, I have to mark this season down by 1 point for making them still in high school when the actors are obviously way too old to pass. The very first season should have been their final year of high school, not the fourth. Next off I have to mark them down 1 point for Lana Lang not only being brought back but being intricately woven into the plot. Bad choice, she's still the weakest actor of the cast. Thirdly I have to mark down 1 point for every ancestor of Lana Lang's to be absolutely identical to her. What? Couldn't find any other actors? Hopefully we'll find out it's because she's a clone of a clone of a clone. Ok, now onto the good stuff. The series opens brilliantly, packed full of action & mystery. Great, scene set. Michael Rosenbaum was even more awesome at portraying a torn Lex Luthor than previously. In the first three seasons he seems like an honestly good guy with a bad childhood and a highly developed sense of curiosity. In this season he really works the good/bad, could-go-either-way, torn-between-the-two pathway decision without going over the top. Tom Welling plays an excellent Clark Kent, though I think the writers need to lose the sappy stuff a bit. His character can still be moral, down-to-earth and inherently good without being moralistic in a leave-it-to-beaver style sap fest. It was wonderful to have guest appearances from Margot Kidder, who played Lois Lane in Superman II while also introducing the Lois Lane character played by Erica Durance. Sam Jones III who portrayed Pete Ross was lost this season which was unfortunate. As much as Clark has Lex as a friend, Ross played a role of 'best-buddy' which neither Lex or Chloe could be. So, Chloe stepped up as the best friend, Lana had a new relationship, and Clark is now able to get to know Lois. They have a love/hate thing going straight away with Clark still pining over Lana. Sigh - why cant he just go for Chloe?

This season had guests stars Paul Wesley as Lucas Luthor and Ian Somerhalder as Adam Knight. Lucas Luthors disappearance at the end of the episode was unresolved. He seemed to just up & vanish for no reason. Unimpressed. However the rest of the story gave some insight into the Luthors. Adam Knight was initially introduced as a love interest for Lara Lang but according to Wikipedia there wasn't enough chemistry between Kristin Kreuk & Ian Somerhalder so they wound up Adam Knight in a sci-fi thriller style plot. This reviewer would have preffered to see Adam meet Chloe & be the first guy to choose her over Lana. Kristin Kreuk leaves at the end of this season in an open-ended plot-line. Let's hope she doesn't come back! Even after 3 seasons her acting is weak. This season we learn more about Chloe played by Allison Mack. Allison Mack is a strong actress who shines in every scene she plays proven by her 10 award nominations and 3 wins. The series ends with drama & mystery. Overall a fantastic season.

This is series has so much character development. We still have the episode short story but with far more character arcs. Lana Lang is still sappy and annoying & it's still hard to see what Clark Kent sees in her. Unfortunately we see less of Chloe this season who is arguably one of Smallville's most intriguing characters. A story arc does seem to have been seeded for her at the end of this season, so hopefully we'll see much more of her in Season 3. It was a treat for fans to have Christopher Reeve guest-starring as Doctor Virgil Swan. He was in a knowledgable role about our hero which was a must for those of us who automatically think of Christopher Reeve when the name Superman comes up. All in all this season furthered the first and improved upon it. One criticism, the theme music, sound effects and background music are atrocious. Very unfortunate.

Good beginning. Season 1 introduces our characters well and sets the scene. It focuses more on individual one-off episode plots at first as we get to know our characters. Well-done. The actress who plays Lana Lang is extremely unfortunate. Yes, she's beautiful but realistically this isn't enough. Her acting is hammy & over the top. The chemistry between Clark & Lana isn't there so it's compensated by long extended looks many times an episode. With the weakness of Kristin Kreuk's acting its hard to believe Clark actually likes her and the pairing of Clark & Chloe seems far more likely. A 7 rating this episode for bad casting of a lead character. Great story-lines however.

I wasn't as enamoured by this season as the last 4, however once you adjust to the 22 year olds behaving like 35 year olds it's still quite good. Nathan & Haleys son is a little too dominant in the storyline which in my opinion is unfortunate for the series because it leaves the Lukas & Payten drama as the 'catch' after Nathan's healing has taken place. The wheelchair & recovery needed far more time & the writers needed to do a bit of studying for this one. I should know, as I have actually had to learn how to walk again and I can tell you first-hand this was done very badly in the show and wasn't even close to realistic. As was the 'comeback'. Another thing this writer has had to actually live. Different arena; basketball vs dance but still there are interesting challenges along the way that the writers could have explored that would have been wonderful to see. One Tree Hill is about love, relationships, what family is and what it isn't. On this, the writers remained true.

Witty, intelligent and entertaining, this show can appeal to all ages. It's unfortunate that it was billed as a teen drama thus minimizing it's potential audience that eventually led to the show being cancelled. I believe this show has a wonderful potential for a come-back as an adult FBI drama using the same actors, 5 years later, and I hope the producers take advantage of the opportunity to include new fans while maintaining the old fan base. The biggest let down of Series 1 was Paris Hilton's appearance. Thankfully the character only existed for 1 episode and Paris wasn't given many lines. The relationship between our main character and her father is well written and very unique, showing much respect between them through very adverse times. One of the supporting cast has the same job to do; two connected characters in one man and unfortunately doesn't pull it off. one character is complete while the other is too emotionally dead and without personality. My second review for this series is a comparison of viewer ratings. I believe it deserved the chance to get back on track with an interesting Series 5 that was more in tune with series 1. Vampire Diaries Series 1 only got 3.6 million viewers yet was renewed for a second season. Heroes season 4 had it's lowest viewers ever but still nearly doubled Vampire Diaries with 6.54 million viewers. Buffy had it's debut season at only 3.7 million viewers and peaked at 5.3 in Season 3 yet ran for another 4 seasons following this despite it's best coming in at 1.24 million viewers less than Heroes at its worst. Similar figures can be found for Charmed running for 8 seasons peaking in Season 1 at 5.5 million viewers and hitting a low of 3.5 million viewers in Season 7. Coming back to a more modern series is True Blood which only got 2 million viewers in its first series compared with Heroes 13.86 million in its first. Season 2 of True Blood 4.28 million and series 3 True Blood 4.97 million. Heroes worst season still got 1.57 million more viewers. So why was this series cancelled. Statistically it shouldn't have.

Lost is beginning to Lose It. The same mistake made here was made in Heroes season 4 also. Too many plot-lines and not enough time to keep up with them all. Kudos for an intricate weaving of story-lines but in this case the KISS rule needed to be remembered. Keep It Simple Stupid. The story-lines themselves didn't go over our heads. That's not the simplification that was needed but rather the sheer volume of them needed to be decreased so as to keep up with them every episode. The flash-forwards and flash-backs needed to be titled such as '1 year from now'. It wasn't obvious whether the scene was forward or backward making the series a bit of a flop. Jack Shephard played by Matthew Fox finally becomes fallible, however he falls too hard, too fast with seemingly little reason and his discovery that baby Aaron is his nephew hardly has any response attached to it. Kate Austen played by Evangeline Lilly becomes mum to baby Aaron. This is not even slightly believable and in the doing the character becomes unlikeable and overly self-righteous. This season - FAIL. We can only hope the writers get it together for season 5.

We need to see him make mistakes, trust the wrong person, fail at least once. His back-story is brilliant and interweaves with so many other characters in unique and indirect ways. New characters are introduced and we are shown a very harsh side to these characters. Their back-story is only introduced after we've grown to dislike them but this story changes our opinions of them and makes them more understandable and their behaviour more excusable. Sayid Jarrah played by Naveen Andrews and Hugo "Hurley" Reyes played by Jorge Garcia are tested by an awful loss in this season and we watch how they both respond when face to face with the murderers of their loved ones. The way they cut from the present to the back-stories of each character is cleverly done so we, the viewers learn important information about our characters but not the whole story. James "Sawyer" Ford played by Josh Holloway is revealed slowly enough for us to be fooled into believing he's just a dumb selfish country hick but as the season emerges we begin to see cracks in the armour that show a vulnerability and insecurity sitting underneath and an unexpected intelligence. John Locke played by Terry O'Quinn has a huge mystery attached to him. How is it that he can walk when he was paralysed. It's wonderful that this remains unanswered throughout the entire season. This season is losing me. I don't like Matt Smith or the girl who plays Amy. The story-lines have just died and the 'crack' in time that is meant to tie the stories together is just a pathetic, poor excuse. There was no mystery. We knew what it was before the last episode. Sad! The series has been Americanized. Totally ruined what Doctor Who is and the series has got too young. May as well be watching some American teen drama. BORING!

If it's possible, this season was even better than the last. David Tennant is by far the best Doctor of all the The Doctors. He's added a dimension we haven't seen before. It's a kind of shadow of sorts, a loneliness.

I fell for Doctor Who this season. I hadn't much liked it when I was a kid but this is brilliant. Christopher Eccelston is brilliant as The Doctor, quirky, funny, serious, mysterious.

This is a really good series but cannot be taken to reflect the actual industry. It is far more fantastical with incredible costumes, fantasy sex more than regular, unusual quirky characters and far more money than the real world wold ever see. However, it's well scripted with full 3 dimensional characters and interesting plot lines.

This season of Dexter was still as brilliant as we've come to expect but with a few oversights that I feel need to be reflected in the review score. Our serial killer this season is an older man in his late 50's/early 60's yet the writers failed to take this into account in some of his murder scenes. His very first scene is with a 20 something woman in the bathroom. He's naked and unarmed, she screams and is physically overpowered by him. This is unfortunately extremely unbelievable. Likelihood is, she could easily have fended him off (possibly hurting him in the process), call the police and have him arrested, there and then. End of storyline. His second victim is a woman in her 30's. He's unarmed and she's passively crying and begging. Again, she could easily have taken him down. I know I wouldn't be afraid of an unarmed old man. This victim voluntarily jumps to her death because he threatened her children. Huh? Why didn't she just kick him between the legs, whip out her mobile phone, take a photo, jump in her car and drive straight to the police station? On this point I think the writers have cast women (not in the police force) as pathetic, helpless, hapless victims. This is disappointing. In this season Rita is manipulative of Dexter's insecurities about being a good husband and father using this to make him toe the line. She's overbearing, controlling and ridiculously demanding and no-one seems to notice, not even Dexter. Our favorite serial killer, forensics splatter expert kowtowers to her daily without so much as a weak, whimper of protest. For me, this made her death at the end very welcome. Maybe season 5 will show a stronger and more independent Dexter. I'm hoping the writers made Rita unlikeable on purpose. I'm looking forward to seeing Season 5 and am hoping the writers address the roles of women outside the police force. Do they need to be perfect? No. But believable, yes.
