The last few Guy Ritchie films have been horrible IMO, this is more like Snatch. What a great film and a lot of fun. Colin Farrell steels the show with limited screen time. Everyone is great though and if you haven't figured this out in 2020 yet, professional critics are not to be trusted, it's hilarious.
Acting across the board is 10/10. The Directors did a great job showing the human emotion with betting on sports. It's funny, tragic, and exciting. One of my favorite films in 2019.
Visuals and practical effects 10/10. As for the story 2/10. JJ tired to fix it, but you can't comeback from what Rian Johnson did with it. This saga is about Anakin and Luke, once they killed that.. they killed the story.
It is slow for 90min, but just accept the fact that this isn't a film made on the green screen (aka a Marvel cartoon). Phoenix is great in everything he does(See "The Master") and is always worth the price of admission. Support this film.
If you liked the other 2 films you will enjoy this film. Unbreakable is one of the most amazing superhero films I have seen. Split and Glass fall short, but they are still good installments.
Chapter 2 is not good. I did enjoy the first 60min, after that the film goes rogue and just drags on. There is a scene when James McAvoy is riding his bike "silver" and it's a green screen, they couldn't film him riding the bike for real? The point is that they didn't put much effort into this film, the same goes for the acting. Bill Hader was good, that is it.
Not bad, I enjoyed this film. Do NOT watch the trailer or read much about it, just watch it. Lead actress is Hugo Weaving's niece, she is good. Checkout The Babysitter which is she is and also not a bad film.
First time I saw this film was in a theatre in 2001(I was in college). This is in my top 5 horror films of all time, which is amazing since it was made in 1973. A lot of the old films don't hold up sometimes, this one does.
Overrated is one word that comes to mind. Quick info on me, I was born in '79 and I have never seen this film until today. To say this is a "horror" film is a stretch and some critics have this film in the top horror films of all time, it's not. The movie drags and is very boring, nothing really happens for most of the run time, 137min. Here is the other part that is kinda sick, there is basically a **** scene in the film and if you know anything about Mr. Polanski, well watching that part in 2019 was a little strange. I think this is one of the films where if you mention it around other film lovers they will say how great it is, but if you were to really ask them about a certain scene (example the stupid ending)they would have no response because they probably have never watched it and just read a critics review in order to fit in.
Both actors do a great job, but the story is just too slow. I am a **** for these types of films and this is by no means a bad film, it just wasn't good. If you like Casey Affleck and films like "The Road"(I do) then you might enjoy this movie. ***The next line is about a specific part in the movie, I do not think it is a spoiler(you see some action in the trailer), but if you are worried then stop reading. I really struggled with Casey's character at the end when he drops a weapon knowing there are a few more bad guys to deal with, that is poor writing and takes me out the movie. Nobody would ever do that in a real situation.
If you enjoy SyFy films then give this a go. The best non spoiler review I read before watching this was to just make sure you pay attention as the answers you will seek are on display during the journey. The film looks great and the acting is good. You will be entertained.
The Hateful 8, Inglorious ****, R Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill are a few films on my all time favorite list. This film was terrible. I saw people leaving the theatre after about an hour. I would have done the same, but Brad and Leo are unreal and I could watch either of those guys paint or sew and still be entertained. If people didn't know it was a QT film they would have rated it lower, everyone is just scared or blinded by his greatness. Again, the acting was a 10, but there isn't a story. The last 15min are great, that is it.
If someone says Toy Story and you immediately think "Buzz Lightyear" then you might be disappointed. This is a Woody & Bo Peep story. Keanu Reeves is the best part in this one.
How is filming someone for 15min straight while they are eating a pie called "art"? That is all you need to know about this film, there is a scene where you just watch someone eat pie for 15min(believe it or not 15min might be under estimation).
Infinity War was a 10 for me...this was a 4. Too many long & drawn out scenes. Some jokes they took too far or went to the well too many times..THOR cough cough...Everyone will praise this film, I think it kinda ****.
Epic. Best action movie I have ever seen. Monster trucks, death metal, and Tom Hardy. When a director gives us REAL action scenes and REAL trucks, I am always in.
Great to see some grunt "rebels" in action. The connection to EP IV is rad. Great ending. I think they could have done 1 more scene with Vader, just give the fans what they want, it's Star Wars, not The Godfather.
Don't be fooled by the good reviews, I think people are just hung up on any type of military movie(American Sniper/Lone Survivor got good reviews). This is not like the first one, it starts off good, but about 45min you realize that the plot is moving into a different direction(Del Toro w/ little girl) and another sub plot that is meaningless. The ending is horrible, just completely unrealistic. Also, there is a shootout scene that also falls into the "Hollywood" **** Bulletproof glass is not bulletproof forever.
Most of the movie takes place in a Mansion and the Dino's are locked up in cages. Also, when a blockbuster movie gets released outside of the US first, never a good sign.
Ben Foster is always great and his co-star was as well, but this is an extremely boring film. I didn't buy into the Ben Foster's character and why he has to do the things he does. Just seemed like a quitter.
