Mandy is not just hideous, hilarious and thrilling – although, it’s all of those and then some – it’s also a meditation on personal grief which loses no poignancy for all its blood-soaked insanity and eye-melting psychedelia.

Cosmatos' ability to put us in Red's head — overwhelmed at first with pain and fury, then saturated by the strange drugs he for some reason feels compelled to try — make this much more than the usual exercise in vicarious bloodshed.

Mandy is, if it’s not clear yet, not for everyone. But for those who think nothing of staying up past midnight to devour the strange and fantastic, it hits the sweetest of spots.

You already know if you’ll enjoy a film where LSD-crazed leather daddies are summoned via something called the Horn Of Abraxas. A no-holds-barred ride into madness destined for a thousand midnight screenings.

The film’s two sides — the soft, textured reverie of its first half, and the surreal, angular savagery of its second — exist in perpetual balance; one would die without the other.

Panos Cosmatos's film is a profoundly violent and weirdly moving poem of male alienation.

Cosmatos’ Mandy matches Cage grimace for grimace and achieves, at times, a transcendent midnight madness.

Electrifying! This movie was a big surprise for me, Nicolas Cage's performance is exquisite and deserves to be seen.

For lack of a better word this movie is truly... "astounding" for a whole myriad of reasons, it's going to be one people are either going to love or hate. It's about the most bat$%&* crazy movie to come out in recent years and I suspect everyone involved were on copious amounts of drugs the entire time they were making it.

There's a good movie hiding in here somewhere. You're going to need to do two things to prepare for watching this movie. 1) Do drugs. 2) Bring extra drugs to take halfway through. There is a good film in here somewhere. I think cutting 30 minutes out and playing the rest at 1.5 speed would do a lot to help the finished product. Oh, and did I mention drugs?

Found this to be dull, pretentious, and just boring. Fail to see what all the hype is about
