The Last Jedi is not what I expected. Whiles at first it was a shock, I came to realize that TLJ takes all the canon lore about the force and uses it. often all at once. It not only continues the plot of Ep7 but deepens that of the PT and OT, whiles finishing threads left unfinished in TCW. No plot holes are in the movie, every single negative complain has either been towards the humour (something subjective) or how Luke was made shown to be more complex and emotional, as someone who takes responsibility for his mistakes. The other ''issues'' are simply user error or forced hate. The plot holes that go mentioned online a lot are nothing more than plot-points.

It may of played it safe , it may have less of an original plot , it still is a great movie. Its up there with the best. Might not be one of the best SW movies , but its one of the best movies of all time.

The movie that started it all. Its an amazing movie , borderline perfect. So , why not a 10? Special editions. But even with the special editions its a great movie , and deserves more rep than it gets. Not much to say to be honest , critics at the time said it was the hidden fortress and indeed it is. only StarWars did it better , gave it an original spin and started the best franchise ever. In fact you could argue without StarWars life would be more dull and nerds/geeks would still be seen as monsters.

Simply the best StarWars movie. Actualy , no... its the best movie of all time. Forgot your ''citizen kane'' ''godfather'' or ''birdman'' this is the best movie ever in my opinion. Its slow , sombre and you can feel the weight of the empire crushing down on the poor rebels during the episode. I cant even think of a flaw in the movie , outside of dated special effects... but even then , they look fine and do the job well.

On re-examination this movie is hard to enjoy. Its dialogue is utilitarian, the art direction poor and the action unintresting

The effects are the worst out of the trilogy Half the movie is based on a romance I dont care much about It has the worst lightsaber fight in the franchise I have been told that this is a guilty pleasure of mine , but I dont agree. I dont think its terrible. I dont think its bad. I think its good. oh its not as good as IV , V and VI but its not a bad story , nor a bad movie. The plot has a focus on a romance and a conspiracy that goes down a deep (but thats mostly talked about in TCW08) The conspiracy : I love it ! The romance : I dont like it very much , its not that I think its badly written its that it feels like watching two real life teens dating for the first time. its very cringy. lets just say there is a reason why movies never show romance how it is in real life. However the only things that make me rate this a 7 instead of a 8 or 9 is : -The lightsaber fight , I cant stand yoda fighting , I cant stand the fight in the dark. -C3pO ''funny'' bit , his head gets removed and is still functional (so far , silly but okay) and then gets fited to a B-1 battle droid and thus the two programmings seem to conflict with one and another. its a very silly moment that mirrors the bit in ESB with C3pO being in bits but in that movie it was played for drama and laughs. -the effects and art are not my cup of tea in this episode (outside of kamino that I do love) everything looks fake , but thats not the end of world to me. But I have to say , something seems to be messed up with the lighting in this episode.

This is a hard one. Out of the prequels I find it to be the hardest one to watch. However on the flip side I think it looks the most like a StarWars movie out of all the prequels. My issues with the movie is mostly the acting and jarjar (I mean fart jokes , walking in crap and his voice being set 300% louder than anyone else and the fact he acts dumber than anything from the SW universe) But I like a lot of the visuals (yes the effects can be bad , but the art its self is very nice) The plot is clever as well , but its told in a very clumsy way. And the ''romance'' is a bit on the creepy side to me. Anyway , I dont hate it. I dont love it. I dont think I like it , but I do enjoy what it added to the StarWars lore.

Just amazing. A movie aimed at fans of canon. The plot continues the tradition of poetry , however it soon goes into its own unique direction. Every single ''plot hole'' that is mentioned online is by ''fans'' who dont read up about canon and dont understand the basics of the SW canon (not EU , canon) All the hate this movie gets is unfair. Its the best movie IMHO since ESB. I understand if some dont like it , but RoTJ was ''safe'' and a ''copy'' of ANH and yet it was seen as good. I think the hate is just a mix of ''special snowflakes'' and the ''need to hate'' If you feel betrayed by StarWars being good again , then its a shame As for details on the production : -Lighting is perfect , nothing feels fake -FX the blend of CGI and practical is amazing , however there is one exception the rathtar (it looks less impressive than the rest) -script its close to perfect with only a few lines that felt forced from lor san tekka at the start. -Plot is great deals with classic themes but goes in new directions with it -Lore the most important part of a SW production IMHO the lore is great and will show many intresting subplot for those who like to read into it My only issues with the movie is the battle for starkiller base , I love that battle and its visuals and its subplot in genral. but the xwing battle could be removed from the plot and would not change anything. In fact apart from removing the new republic and its fleet and showing how advanced the first order is it could be removed and saved for a different movie (or be a one use only weapon) As for the hate towards the movie , most of it is pure band waggoning. Yes like all movies it has flaws , and indeed its not as good as ESB but its better than the prequels and better than ROTJ in my mind. Its not that close to ANH as remeber than in ANH the outline plot is : save the princess , kill the deathstar. However in TFA its find luke and stop the first order. Starkiller base is a subplot , the meat of the story is about luke and finding him. As for the rest of the complaints I have read a lot of them are valid of course but ignore lore and other information such as : -All the planets in TFA are close to one and another thats why it feels ''small'' -The falcon was being tracked and has a unique ID , its hard to miss it -Rey is force sensetive and had to fight all her life to stay alive (and in her spare time she played a space training program she found on a downed ISD) -General hux speach is actualy realistic if you look at dictatorships and terrorist groups , something the first order is -Kylo ren is NOT a sith. the sith are gone , luke and anakin removed them. they are nothing but a shadow of that way of life , maybe they are more of a threat , maybe they are less of a threat but they are not sith -Kylo ren is not fully trained Anyway , if you hate the movie its fine. all the power to you. If you like the movie but dont agree with me , all the power to you. I like all StarWars movies but only love 4 (V , IV , VII , R1) but I dont hate the prequels but I see the flaws in them and have done from the very start (got me a lot of hate in the day)
