Wow. Resident Evil 2 remake was my entry into the franchise and now; I'm hooked. The sound design amplified the incredible atmosphere, made combat feel incredibly satisfying and make the zombie encounters just that much more scary. The lighting really made this game so much better as well. Mr X is a wonderful addition, constantly keeping me on my toes and it really feels like they've nailed the distribution of resources, although I did find myself running into way more blue herbs than was really necessary. The story is actually pretty good and wholistic from both Leon's and Claire's perspectives, with enough differentiating them to make me want to finish both campaigns to get a fuller understanding of the events unfolding in Raccoon City. RE Engine looks beautiful here as well.
Not only is it an all time classic but Mojang just keep adding **** to the point where 11 years after full release and we’re still getting plenty of welcome additions to the game. The soundtrack has always been regarded as one of the best of all time and it continues to meet those standards with every expansion. Entertaining combat, heartbreaking story; well worth anyones money.
Persona 5 Is the JRPG I've always needed to scratch my itch for good turn based combat games, a genre the gaming community brushes aside as being lazy, P5 manages to execute a stylish return to form for the genre and Persona franchise, with an engaging episodic plot, incredible art direction, score, writing, UI and so much more. One of my favorite games of all time without a doubt and something I would recommend to anyone without a shadow of a doubt.
New Leaf brought animal crossing to a whole new generation with marvelous splendor and arguably perfected the gameplay loop. Incredible game anyone can enjoy, however derivative it is of its previous entries.
TW3 is an undisputed classic and rightfully so. There is just so much content here and the DLC is honestly so worth it as well. Incredible looking game with a fine story, fine characters but better yet, a wealth of side quests and incredibly liberating amounts of freedom.
While deeply flawed in its unorthodox pacing, its introduction of many classic Pokémon, its incredible soundtrack, serviceable characters and maintained satisfying gameplay loop makes for a solid entry into the Pokémon franchise.
Resident Evil 7 is... pretty ok? Obviously a step up from 5 and 6, however it still has many obvious flaws. The puzzles were way too easy, my favorite being the birthday room and least favorite being the ones where you need to use a projected light to make a certain shape on a painting. The Baker family are great in this game, the survival horror elements of resource scarcity are fine although at times I did feel like they left too much in normal mode, overall it was definitely a positive. The main characters of Ethan and Mia felt a bit flat to me, however the story was pretty decent, with the ties to the previous games at the end seeming more like an afterthought. As well as this, the enemies were super repetitive and the last section of the game felt more like a shooter than a horror game, but overall this game is fine.
