Tiny Tina's Wonderlands6
Jun 18, 2023
The game got a lot better towards the end and I personally really enjoy the endgame. I would change my review to positive if it wasn't for the price. it just isn't worth full price, if it was a £34.99 game it would be a lot easier to recommend. - Got a few more unique and usable guns / spells near the end which was more fun - Prettiest looking Borderlands game - Really like the classes - No driving I wrote this at about halfway through and stopped playing, I still feel the criticisms are valid so will leave it in. Review for first half of the game: I thought Borderlands 3 was bad but playing this surprised me, it's so bad I can't bring myself to even finish it Characters and story are unfunny, boring and annoying Quests are really boring, having to wait for long dialogue you can't skip all the time Spells are a big disappointment, not nearly enough types and most of them feel the same Same goes for the guns, this is the first borderlands game where there isn't really any guns I like. Feels like there's a lot less variety with weapons However, the classes are pretty cool and you can have two at once and the overland is kinda nice I guess

Played this in beta and it was a mess, thought I'd try it out again after seeing so many people regard it as one of the best battlefields, it's still not worth your time. Dying simulator with the worst guns, customization and maps of any Battlefield I've played

Things the game does really really well: The graphics, effects and style are amazing Soundtrack is top tier, gun sounds are great The maps are really atmospheric Things the game did poorly: Terrible fps Very frequent crashes Big, clunky UI Disconnects and multiplayer issues happen a lot Not enough maps / areas, feels way too repetitive The mission select is terrible, random missions on random difficulties with timers Only 4 classes, they feel very samey Progression is just bad. Having to play multiple hours with a horrible weapon to level up enough and then hope you get it in the shop. Class talents feel very weak and unrewarding for a game like this Added a premium cosmetic store on launch but didn't really fix many of the big issues the game had. Most of those can and probably will be fixed with updates, the game could be great eventually but the progression and lack of anything interesting for classes will make it hard for me to want to play it much more.

I love the game, only ruined by teammates purposely trying to kill you (not accidentally once or twice, actually trying). the game has a LOT of issues with server disconnects, crashes, lag, freezing, hitboxes which has been around for a long time with no real fix. it's sometimes hard to play 1 game from start to finish without these happening.

Necromunda: Hired Gun3
Jun 18, 2023
The game is just plain bad. I didn't believe the reviews and wanted to try it anyway, managed to complete 3 missions before uninstalling. It is really buggy: - Menus are pretty buggy and ugly, it took me a while to figure out how to change my resolution (change to windowed, change res then back to fullscreen) - The game has stuttering issues - Mouse control feels off, can't really describe it It runs surprisingly bad, even with settings lowered by a good amount my FPS was not great with frequent dips and stutters. The way the guns fire and feel is pretty bad, maybe the main reason I couldn't bring myself to play any more. The levels / graphics look really ugly, a lot worse than how it's made to look in screenshots and such. Couldn't care less about the story / dialogue, sounded pretty bad but then again the gameplay may have tainted it :/

Great game if you want an FPS roguelite, really fun especially in coop :) Got this after getting really bored of borderlands 3, definitely scratched that itch + All characters feel pretty balanced + Good variety of weapons + Upgrade system that last between runs is nice + Cheap c: - Game has a kind of blurriness like you have oil smeared over your screen when postprocessing is on high :/ - Some of the bosses and areas with traps feel too annoying to play - UI is pretty ugly - Some guns feel useless no matter what upgrades are on them? - My mouse randomly skips every now and then, only on this game This is a game I'm really excited for new updates and hope the devs add a lot more to it c:

My new favourite ARPG I would recommend to anyone, Minecraft enjoyer or not, both casual and experienced with the genre :) - Graphics look nice, especially the lighting and shadows - Length of the game is great and it stays fresh and enjoyable even after a lot more hours - Combat is satisfying - Sounds and music is nice - Local co-op - Good price Negatives: - Movement can be buggy in co-op - Need software to get local co-op to work without 2 controllers - Difficulty ramps up a bit too fast in later levels - More variety in loot would be nice

The game has some nice new additions which are overshadowed by the huge amount of negatives BF2042 has, Buggy, runs poorly, looks ugly, removing a lot of positives that were in the past games, feels like too much of a messy **** and just isn't fun most of the time. Wait a few months and hopefully then it will be closer to the game we want to play :)

Maneater7
May 6, 2022
Maneater is a solid 7/10 imo, a small open world map where you find collectables, do side quests and eat things. It's a power fantasy game, after an hour of playing I never found the game that challenging again. The different evolution upgrades are unrealistic but look really cool and are fun to use. :) The graphics are pretty nice, It ran okay with frequent dips in fps. The controls felt really clunky at first and took some getting used to, may be better with a controller? The human models / cutscenes look really bad and the story isn't really something to play it for. I 100%'d the game after less than 12 hours of gameplay, it's pretty short but pretty easy to get everything. I wish there was more upgrades, more animations, more missions and a bigger map, a bit of everything really, I hope that future DLC adds a lot more content into the game as it's fun and I can't find any other game like it. I would recommend this game on sale if you enjoy a mindless power fantasy game where you eat things as a big shork :p

Can be fun but has some flaws, wait for some more updates :) Would only recommend buying it rn if you're a big DD fan, like roguelites and get it discounted - A lot of upgrades feel weak or make little difference - Similar issue to DDA with bad and buggy UI - For a roguelite it feels really same-y - Issues with mouse sensitivity resetting and FPS getting capped - Difficulty ramp up is too much on Glitterhelm imo, plus getting one shot by something (?) felt **** + Price is good + Good potential if updated and managed well

Rogue Tower5

it's fun for the first 10 hours getting all the upgrades but after that it just gets boring and frustrating. - No fast forward option (without mods) - Upgrades are very RNG, I would really like a reroll option or something similar - There is single lane, double and triple. Only the first one is really do-able reliably and the others need almost a "meta" build / upgrades, if you don't get good upgrades in time you will lose and have to restart - UI is pretty bad

Nice little colony management game with some minor issues, worth the price in my opinion. There is a tutorial, scenarios and sandbox modes, each you can pick from 3 difficulties, I was playing on medium and found it to be fine. I like the buffs you get from different decorations, giving more reason to placing certain things in certain places. Cons: - It often feels like your sinners (AI) just stand around and do nothing, sometimes break all together and can't move - Tutorial broke several times on me - Settings are very limited - FPS frequently breaks and gets capped at something like 42, feeling very stuttery - The mouse pointer and UI need work, feels very inaccurate - Some achievements are broken I found some of the resource grind to be unfun but not a game breaker.

Doesn't help there are filters and effects almost always covering your screen making it hard to see anything / the game look ugly. - Empty and uninteresting open world. - Inconsistent stealth. I've been looking at trying this game ever since it got added to Steam but only recently decided to give it a chance due to such mixed opinions on the game. I wouldn't recommend the game as it is right now, or ever to most people. It's a glorified fetch quest game with nothing ever interesting, annoying survival meters and too small inventory / stash size. I encountered some bugs (although not as bad as I thought it would be or used to be), the first being my UI was invisible, my fps was capped at 72 and my controls never saved, all of those I managed to fix with some .ini edits. The other bug I had was I lost everything I placed in my base half the time when I close the game which sort of killed any motivation to keep playing. If you don't mind fetch quests I would maybe say try it on sale. Never full price.

One of, if not the best game of this type I've seen or played. I would recommend buying this game on sale and at full price. It might take a little while to fully get going but it's worth it. + Great graphics, locations and areas look really nice and believable, real + The story, world and characters are all great. I used to play this game every day with some friends and thought I should write it a review. A classic for me, a really fun side-scrolling beat 'em up that can be played solo, online and local co-op. You can play through the main story, do arenas, and then there's "insane mode" which is similar to new game+ in a way, enemies get massively tougher and you play through again. You can do this on every character (which there's a lot of) that adds a lot of replayability. + Love the art style + Great soundtrack and audio + Good funnies + Good variety of characters + Fun in co-op (options of online & local) + Playable with mouse & keyboard aswell as controller + Lots of weapons & pets to collect For the price this game is a steal, get it!

Tower defence is my favourite genre, having played Dungeon Defenders, Sanctum and Orcs Must Die a lot I thought to try it. This has potential to be a great game however I feel this game was put out way too soon and don't recommend buying it yet. - Game has a forced FPS cap of 30 or 60 - Very laggy mouse input - Bad sound design, the same sounds play for every action, a lot of things don't have sound making the game feel really quiet, I keep hearing a high pitched beep every time an enemy spawns which gave me a headache. Audio always felt too loud / quiet regardless of what I did to the settings - Really really short - Some towers seem unbalanced in either price and / or power - Animations look really simple and movement feels a bit off

One of the best games I've played in the last few years, and I don't even like roguelites much This is the first game I've reviewed, or played, that I'd give a 10/10. + Amazing art style and graphics + Satisfying gameplay and combat + Great soundtrack and sound effects + Good variety in each run + Great story and dialogue + Voice lines barely, if ever, repeat + Always new dialogue and other things after a run + Addictive, constantly telling yourself "one more run" + Great price + Lots of replayability, can take over 50 hours to complete I can't really think of any full on negatives for this game so here are some nitpicks: / Not many settings, although they aren't really needed / Voices and lines on Zagreus sometimes don't fit imo / Not sure on the bounty system / Some enemies are a bit too spongy / Technical difficulties: sometimes the game launches to a black screen, I get constant "Game unable to save" messages

I adore this game, one of my favourite single player games + Great graphics, looks like the show but more detailed, runs at a high FPS + Really good special effects on abilities + Good voice acting like the show, frequent lines from characters, I didn't find them too repetitive + Controls are good on keyboard and mouse + Options to skip / make things like quick time events easier + Lots of customization of abilities and cosmetics + Good length, took me about 25+ hours to finish the base game + Plenty of references to episodes and humour + Lots of collectables - Ran into one bug every now and then where combat would freeze up and I'd have to load a checkpoint - Sometimes using your mouse in UI can be weird I find this game isn't better than Stick of Truth, just different. I do prefer this though. I'm just sad that if they make another South Park game, it will not be on Steam because Ubisoft hate their consumers >.>

TL;DR - Borderlands game with good improvements and some down sides. I recommend this game on sale. + More interesting legendary guns + More ways to build your character with augments, swappable skills / types + Good dialogue and humour (mostly) similar to 2 + Improvements on visuals and options over 2 while sticking to the style + Game is a decent length, not long but not too short + Different planets / area types + Has characters from the Telltale series / There's a lot of collectables in this game that can be good for extending the time, but are mostly just annoying. / Annoying antagonists. Would be a negative but it makes me hate them at least? / There is a lot more loot I feel, but loot can be more boring and feels like I need to replace things more often / There will not be any new characters added as DLC - The shady and things the devs / publishers did - Some characters were pretty badly written - A lot of forced vehicle sections which are annoying - Very expensive - The playable characters as a whole are more boring than in BL2 - Sanctuary is more annoying to navigate than it needs to be

Marvel's Avengers5
Sep 9, 2020
TL;DR - Good game but not recommended at the moment due to bugs, bad optimization and crashes. Firstly I don't understand the hate this game got before launch, the game is no more money hungry than other games, if anything it's less microtransaction focused than most other multiplayer games. This is a good beat 'em up looter game which is co-op focused with different mission types you will play in different areas. + The "battlepass" if you can call it that, on each character is not time limited which is great + Good character diversity + Game can look pretty + Is a live service game + Each character has good amounts of skills to unlock and variation + Lots of loot Now for the cons... - Optimization. This is the worst optimised game I've EVER played. So many crashes, probably a crash per hour, especially when not playing on lowest settings. On my RTX 2080 and i9 10900k I can't run this on anything but lowest settings, and even then barely. Any higher and the fps drops all the way down, stutters, and the game is way more likely to crash. - Clunky movement and controls. Flying mechanics are terrible, clunky and annoying, landing, moving or turning is a pain. Normal movement feels cumbersome and like you have little control. Some combos / actions with certain characters just don't work as intended or randomly act weird. - Knockdowns, stuns, staggers, EVERYWHERE. There are a lot of enemies in this game, and every single one, even the basic ones, can stagger you out of combos or abilities and cancel them or even stunlock you. WHY? - Bugs. It happens constantly where teammates T-pose, enemies fall through the floor, enemies don't spawn, icons for teammates don't show up and probably more I've forgot to mention - Terrible UI. UI elements dissapear, menus don't show up in certain places - No colourblind options - Has player collision. Why games add this annoying thing puzzles me - Game is pretty pricey - Iron Man's skins are garbage

I bought the founders edition of the game and loved GW1 & 2, however this one has flaws and is very broken. I never experience lag in any game, but yet in this game even when in a private session it feels like I have 3000 ping rubberbanding all over the place! The game is completely unplayable in this state When the game decides to not lag, it has similar gameplay to the original, only with a lot less customization, no variants, lackluster upgrades and every character feels weaker. Quality of life improvements include every character having a sprint and reviving is better. The game also includes a battlepass system and more microtransactions than previous games Most of the enjoyment from this is since I enjoyed the older ones so much and want this to be good so badly :(

- Runs very badly. Even on all low settings I get very low fps. Game doesn't look great to begin with so not too sure why - You get hit from behind constantly and nothing you can do can really prevent that - There is no real self healing in the game other than items, higher difficulties make these even rarer than they already are - There is friendly fire, although not as bad as other games - Enemy's animations when about to hit you are inconsistent, making blocking them on time very hard and down to luck - Semi-frequent disconnects - DLCs are too expensive for what little content you get in them - Very little class customization and not much depth in each career All of these pretty much force me to only play one class to fully enjoy the game. Despite that, it's cheap on sale and does have its positives + Can buy for £6 on sale + Good voice acting and mostly good sound design + Is Warhammer Fantasy + Has some workshop mod support + Good amount of settings + Good maps + Fun when playing with friends (and only with friends)

This is coming from someone who never played the originals. Free of nostalgia or bias. TLDR; Buy it when it's heavily discounted (around -50% off or more) and / or the bugs and issues are fixed. - Most of the campaign levels in the games are big, empty, boring open worlds where you're forced to aimlessly drive around trying to figure out where to go as there are no waypoints most of the time - The weapons and mechanics are very dated, even in the more modern games and with this remake, however the combat be enjoyable if you ignore the issues and try and play it not seriously on an easier difficulty. - The game has player collision and friendly fire. I have no idea why some games do any of these, they're just annoying and make the game worse... - The co-op campaigns have a lot of issues, either being laggy, disconnecting or just not working in the first place. The devs have said that they don't see any issues with the co-op and are not planning on fixing it - Also no spllitscreen - Audio is very weak and not many options. Certain aspects of the game are too quiet and muffled, namely some voices or gun shots - Took me 3 or 4 times to even download the separate games as they kept uninstalling themselves - Playing with the older graphics mode on is discouraged since you'll miss out on extra details, lore and achievements There isn't really any noteworthy positive things about the game, it's just okay.

The Elder Scrolls Online9

As someone who doesn't particularly enjoy MMOs, I really enjoy this game a lot. I've tried getting into a lot of other MMOs in the past and either not liked the controls, the the graphics or something else. Out of the about 10 or so MMOs I tried last year, ESO was the only one I could get into. It looked great for an MMO, I liked the art style, it had controls I liked and was used to and already like the world and lore from playing the single player elder scrolls games. Classes: There are currently 6 classes in ESO (4 free and 2 are with DLCs - warden and necro). All of the classes can do good damage, tank or heal, some better than others if you want to min-max. Each class has 3 skill lines and each skill has 2 morphs to choose from, which alter how it works. There's also skill lines for each weapon in the game as well as guilds, like fighters guild, mages guild, undaunted. This brings me into one big problem I have with the game: stamina builds and how limiting they are for what skills you can use. If you don't want to be forced into using a stave with a magicka build (another con for me) then you can do a stamina build. This forces you to only use 2 or 3 of your class skills at most which heavily limit your options and make your character much more boring, as well as having more than one stamina character pretty much the same as any other. Another thing I like about ESO is how you can solo most of the content in the game, if you hate other humans like me.

TLDR; Overall positive with a few negatives. Only buy on sale, ultimate edition content is not worth it and is bad (for PvE content). Campaign: + Can all be done in co-op + Can pick from characters to play + Has collectables / secrets - Empty open world which feels like mostly filler. Doesn't feel like it belongs - Experienced multiple crashes only in campaign - Meh story. Not great but not bad Overall game: + A lot of video settings + Good choice of accessibility settings + Cross play with XB1 + Regular good updates + Hundreds of hours of potential content + Lots of achievements // Uses Xbox Live // Microtransactions exist // Has a system similar to a battlepass - Clunky movement and controls. Even after getting used to them and playing for 150+ hours, feels clunky - Not the prettiest game - Some characters in PvE are just plain bad (namely the Terminator pack ones) - Game has so many anger inducing wtf moments where you will get instantly killed or something doesn't work properly I mainly bought the game for Horde and Escape which I really enjoy, and have put a lot more hours in than I was expecting. The developers regularly update the game, adding new maps, characters and balance changes (pretty much all buffs) Also recently added a new currency you can earn in-game quite easily that you can use in the store for cosmetics. I would recommend buying this game on sale if you wanted to mostly play Horde or escape with a little of versus or campaign on the side. Bonus points to buy it if you wanted to play the campaign in co-op!

Destiny 24

Edit 2020: Definitely don't recommend playing Destiny 2 anymore due to them removing older content and putting a cap on gear and weapons forcing you to get rid of things you like using and equipping newer stuff, further making you grind. Also the more I played the more I realised how D2 has far too much time-limited content. This isn't fun they're taking this same bad decision further. Good game but with way too many problems Nothing is really explained to new players You have to go out of your way to get the main quests Frequent disconnects and crashes Unbalanced guns Forced to start at power level 750 Player collision that just gets you killed Several achievements broken if you don't own the DLC

DOOM Eternal5

TL:DR - Not as fun a game anymore, a lot of annoyances and downgrades from Doom 2016. I'd only recommend to buy it at -50% off or more. - Glory kills are terrible and so much worse than 2016 - Ammo is shared between some guns and is sparse - Enemies can CC and stunlock you - Game is harder than it needs to be on the earlier levels - So. much. parkour. It doesn't belong here and is just an annoyance - Too many upgrade currencies and menus get overwhelming - Bad UI makes knowing when things are off cooldown harder than it needs to be - Forced to use weapons you don't want to on a lot of enemies, like a rock paper scissors - No more normal multiplayer or snapmap from 2016, replaced by a mediocre battlemode - Has a battlepass system Although I do have a lot of complaints for the game, I do enjoy parts of it and they got some things right: - Good soundtrack as always - Really well optimised, can run on almost ultra at 144 fps which a lot of games can't really do. No fps stutters or crashes - Graphics look pretty good - They added a more prevalent story into this one, although no one plays this for the story - When in combat and I actually have ammo, it's really fun most of the time - The game has some customisation with skins and such, if you are into that (although they're not serious at all)

Pokemon Sword5

This game is very mixed for me. It is the same formula as the previous Pokemon games with a few nice additions but a lot of flaws with it. I would give this game a 6 or 7 / 10 but because of it's price (£40 or more at current) I'm lowering it to 5/10. - This is the first and only Pokemon game I've played where I've abandoned my starter at the start of the game. All 3 starters and their evolutions are just ugly, boring and have no interest in them at all. In terms of new Pokemon this generation it is also mixed. There are some that have really good designs and moves, and then some which are just really boring and uninspired. The new forms for old Pokemon I like and the new legendaries I like. - The story and characters are probably one of the worst of the Pokemon games as well. I can't even really remember the story that much after finishing the game a few days ago. The characters are really annoying and bland, namely Leon. This game also lacks a clear "bad guy / team". - The graphics and performance at first I thought were pretty good for Pokemon standards. However the further I got into the game the more performance issues I got, mainly frame drops and lots of really bad pop in. - The gyms were what you would expect from Pokemon games. They're almost the same as previous games which I like. Only thing I don't like about the gym battles were that they took place in stadiums, where you couldn't hear anything but the loud and annoying crowd. Music and other sound was mostly non-existent. - I didn't like dynamaxing at all. It felt like an annoyance that was forced on me instead of mega evolutions which I personally really like. Some of the features I liked in this were the Pokemon jobs system, accessing your boxes from anywhere, character customisation and the league card system was okay. The camping system was mixed, although I liked the playing with your Pokemon part, it was very lacking in what you could do. The curry system I didn't really enjoy.

Battlefield V2

Worst Battlefield game of the franchise in my opinion. Terrible gunplay, no gun customization, seeing the enemy is next to impossible sometimes, causing you to die without even knowing where the enemy was most of the time. This isn't even taking into account the abundance of hackers in the game and they seemingly never get banned.
