An incredible puzzle game, where a good level design is served well by an interesting story. Bundled with a lot of humorand some very good jokes, Portal 2 deserves a third game. Valve?..

Metro: Last Light Redux

User ScoreLetMePickThat
Aug 7, 2018
Metro LLR is incredibly good. Visuals are top notch, the story is more convincing and more interesting than 2033's one, and the gameplay feels better. The only complain I can think of is the rather stupid way devs implemented the higest difficulty levels, by just making weapon and inventory menus invisible instead of providing for an alternative way to select items.

A good, terrifying game. The Redux version of 2033 fixed most of the little, annoying bugs of the initial game while keeping what made Metro so famous.

Stunning graphics, empty shooter, boring gameplay. Either that game was rushed or someone needs to be fired. I'm astonished by how empty Battlefront is. I bought it hoping for a successor to the original Battlefront serie, needless to say I was disappointed.

A good looking shooter with a gameplay that was designed for casual players. Forget about teamplay, you won't get any. Forget about recoil paterns, Dice decided to use a random pattern generator instead. Fun to play sure, but miles away from what BF3 and BF4 were.

A good Far Cry game, FC4 still rely way too much on FC3 to surprise, let alone amaze old Far Cry players. It is still a good experience though, despite the outdated Dunia engine that fails to render anything in a realistic fashion.

Quantum Break

User ScoreLetMePickThat
Aug 7, 2018
Quantum Break was a fantastic project, and end up wasted because of poor PC optimisation and gameplay incoherences. While the story itslef is really interesting, and the whole concept of serie-in-a-game could provide for a very good experience, the sheer difficulty we PC players have to run the game smoothly prevented me from enjoying what I was playing. This plus the general lack of ennemies, weapons and alternatives approaches to given situations ingame creates a frustrating, yet interesting experience.

DOOM is a very good game. Unlike most modern FPS, it is a fast-paced game that focus on gameplay and nothing else. The game is running super smoothly on a good gaming PC, and nearly everyone should be able to hit 60fps without any substantial drop in graphic settigs.

Yes, this game draws heavily onto Borderlands 2. Yes, it could have been a Boderlands 2 DLC. Yet I think it is a great addition to the franchise, and add gameplay mechanics (low gravity and 0² level mainly) that enhance the classic Borderlands gunplay.

Fallout 4

User ScoreLetMePickThat
Aug 7, 2018
Fallout 4 is a good game. Even though it differs quite considerably from the two previous FPS titles of the franchise, it is still a very solid game. Sure, there are some issues with the approach Bethesda chose. The perk system is average at best, the RPG side is nonexistent and the timeline differs considerably from what was established in the previous Fallout games. Yet it is definitely worth playing if a Skyrim in a post-apocalyptic world is what you're looking for.

Six years, and this game is still brilliant. The gameplay can sometime feel a bit repetitve, and the gunplay can be frustrating, but thoses downsides are to be expected from an Hack'n'Slach FPS with random weapons generation.

This is not a game. Visually speaking, EGTR is incredible. Rocking two 1080Tis in SLI, I struggled to maintain a decent framerate in UHD. The textures are spot on, the game look crisp and the level of detail is incredible as well. The audio is nice, as is the voice acting. While the story itself is interesting, the game sometimes becomes boring as you can't move but at a very slow speed. The fact that you can't jump, forcing you to make incredibly long detours when facing a 10cm-high fence, is also gamebreaking imho.

This game is interesting to say the least. It features stunning visuals, a good enough story and a very nice soundtrack. The main weaknesses I see from TVOER is the lack of interaction with the world. Also, while I know very well that this game is advertised as a narrative experience, I find the lack of any form of help playing against the fluidity of the narration itself. I enjoyed the game much more on my second playthough, when I actually knew where were the points of interest and was able to follow the story in the right order.

An lamost perfect game. The universe is well made, coherent, with a lot of "behind the scene" infos. The story is a bit too linear inho, and the game could have used bigger maps (which is something the following game did).

Building on the legacy of previous STALKER games, CoP is a more polished (some might say, casualized) approach to the Zone. While the story isn't that interesting, the game itself is a great sandbox. With good mods, this is a ton of fun.

Outdated graphically speaking, yet manages to convey an incredible ambiance. The list of shorcomings of this game is very long, yet it remains an absolute classic and should be played, with mods, by anyone who liked the Metro or the Fallout series.

While we are still waiting for Xen to be released, Black Mesa is already a great game by every aspect. Despite the use of an outdated engine, the graphics are great, and the atmosphere is really cool. For those who did not play the original Half-Life or who want to revisit the Black Mesa complex, this game is a must have. Black mesa runs flawlessly, with no bugs what so ever and a very nice framerate, even on low-end systems.

The best combat simulator out there, without any hesitation. While most modules are expensive, they are worth the price and will keep you entertained for hours. The game could feature a more intuitive mission editor, as well as tutorials for every modules, but apart from that DCS is a very fine software.

DEFCON: Everybody Dies
7
User ScoreLetMePickThat
Aug 7, 2018
DEFCON is a great way to teach people the futility of nuclear war. The game's visuals, as well as the thrilling soundtrack, provide for a very credible 80s experience, in direct line with movies like War Game. The game is incredibly simple, yet challenging enough so that replayability is great. However, the simplicity of the game is also its main weakness, in that you will not be able to develop either complex strategy or advanced tactics. The small number of units available (less than a dozen) do not provide enough flexibility to make DEFCON a real strategy game.

Command: Modern Air / Naval Operations
6
User ScoreLetMePickThat
Aug 7, 2018
Pros: unique gameplay, incredibly rich database and the ability to create and play very complex scenarios. The AI is really good, and the dice roll system is a nice way to implement randomness in such a complex simulation. Cons: while the core sim is playable, the game is poorly optimised and frequently struggle to maintain a decent simulation rate, even on high-end PCs. The user interface, while efficient when understood, takes an awfully long time to get used to.

An excellent game for all submarine sims fan. Even if not a sim in the most hardcore sense, it still has a pretty steep leaning curve regarding strategy and tactics. The replayablility is great, but the game would be even better with some additionnal features and a bit more of system management. The sound track is great, and the AI is ruthless when playing in the higest difficulty settings. A must have.
