The first game was already an 8 for the gameplay and story but I felt like this game was just a step up. The combat had more features and the fights were just a bit harder than the first game. It was also cool they added the wing suit to each character and you were able to freely switch between the characters. The story was very good with giving each character their own story at some times but intertwining them as well. In the first game I wasn't a big fan of the MJ missions but I feel like this game improved on it to be fun.
It's hard to not give this game a higher score as it's a Spider Man game but this game was very short and priced at $50 on release seems a bit much for a game that you can play the story 2 times and get 100% achievements in under 24 hours. It has a good story but overall the length of the story is just short and not to many advancements from the original game. I think if the game came out at $30-$40 I would have rated it higher as its just a introduction game for the character and meant to fill the gap from the first and second game.
As someone who isn't the biggest Wizarding World fan but still bought the $70 deluxe edition I would give the game a 7.1. Its been about 1-2 years since I last played, but this is my review from what main take aways I remember from playing during the first month after release. It had some features that were cool to have and others that just fell flat. I think the attention to detail with the world was really cool as it felt you were truly in the movies. I think the story was also really good and engaging. It also was a nice touch with how your decisions can change your ending. My biggest regret was buying the deluxe edition as I mainly bought it for the Thestral mount but by the time you finally unlock mounts you will already have your broomstick lvl 2 or 3 and it will be faster to use and easier to control. I also liked how we got our own customizable rooms to use but after unlocking it and customizing the room after the tutorial I never went back besides when new sections got added. The combat is ok as I like that it forces you to use a mixture of the spells but the switching between spells during combat was not the smoothest and required you to remember the layout of what you had to quickly/smoothly transition to them but is kind of hard as you are adding spells pretty regularly.
One of my all time favorite games. I originally played the game when it first came out and would of gave it a 7-8 prior to bug fixes and skill tree change. After doing a second playthrough and this time focusing more on side quest and character relations I would say its a 10. Its fun on how different actions taken throughout your gameplay can change your outcome and make your run completely different from someone else's.
