Gundam Breaker 4

I have been waiting years for a proper sequel to Gundam Breaker 3, and I am quite pleased to say that Gundam Breaker 4 delivers. A return to form after the lest than stellar New Gundam Breaker, GB4 has many wonderful new additions, returning features and mobile suits which make this a perfect entry for newcomers and fans alike. Pros: . The customization has never been better. With the biggest draw of the series being creating your own custom Gunpla, the addition of actually playable SD units as well as now being able to select your individual arms and scale of the parts let's you create some truly unique looking units. . The speed of the game has been upped significantly since GB3. Some have described the movement as feeling like you're sliding around on vasoline however that is a matter of player discretion. Its nice to tear through the levels w . Visually, the game has been much improved since the trailers. I'm not one to care about graphics, but the improved visuals really help make the mobile suits stand out. . Item acquisition has been improved from GB3 and definitely from NGB. Instead of having to try and collect all the individual piece a MS drops or deposit them in a chest to ensure you have them, GB4 opts to go the simple approach. If you destroy an enemy unit and it has parts which drop, they're automatically given to you. No need to scramble to ensure you have everything and risk lowering your end score. Cons: . The English voice cast isn't necessarily my cup of tea. Some characters are done quite well, and others feel fairly generic or to be blunt, pretty lacking. But really this is up to player opinion. It is refreshing they had enough faith in the title to include actual english voice acting at all. .The combat, while improved with the addition of dual loadouts and new skills, feels like it could've been expanded further. The melee combat can feel repetitive at times. . The pace and order at which the game delivers important mechanics is odd and admittedly a bit frustrating. For instance, one of the key components to creating a powerful unit is upgrading your parts. However, the ability to do so is locked until you get to the third chapter. Sure, it doesn't take long to get to that point; But it really feels as though it should've been introduced sooner with how vital of a mechanic it is. With the gripes aside, I still very much recommend Gundam Breaker 4 to those who enjoy games with in-depth customization, fans of Gundam, or those who just want a fun multiplayer title. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but after the last attempt at doing so, that's okay in my book.

Resident Evil 7: biohazard

It has been quite some time since I've looked forward to a new Resident Evil game. But there was something about 7 which had caught my eye. Perhaps it was the sudden shift in tone and viewpoint, or maybe the quirkiness of its villains. But one thing that I had definitely noticed was a comeback to the world of survival horror. Resident Evil 7, in my honest opinion, is a much needed breath of fresh air for the franchise, after having living in the shadow of it's fourth installment. Gone are bombastic action sequences which would potentially make Michael Bay envious. Gone are the quick time events which had become so prevalent in the series. Instead, we are provided with the filthy horrors which lurk within the Baker Plantation. The shift in view point has proven to be quite divisive amongst fans of the franchise. Some scoff at it with pure hatred, and others praise it for bringing something new to the table. I have to say I'm in the middle of the spectrum. I am interested as to what Capcom has planned for the next main installment, and hope they refine the first person controls (if they continue on with it.). Gameplay is ripped straight out of classic Resident Evil titles, with numerous puzzles and some enemy encounters which will make one quite tense. Ammo is scarce, and you have to pick your battles wisely, or wind up some creatures next meal. Save rooms return, as do item boxes and an upgrade system. These provide a moment to catch your breath and decide what your next move should be. Replayability is an issue I see sprouting up frequently. The game has three difficulty modes one can go through, with the third being unlockable. Trophies are there for whoever wants them. Hidden figurines populate the plantation, which beckon to be destroyed. There are bonuses for beating the game under certain requirements, such as new weaponry and infinite ammo. However, all you'll be getting is the story mode, with extra game modes and story episodes as dlc in the nearby future. The story for the game doesn't bring anything new to the table. Rather, it chooses to play it simple snd safe. After Resident Evil 5 & 6, this was a great pallet cleanser. The story isn't bogged down by lore set by its predecessors, making 7 an excellent entry point for new comers. However, that isn't to say there aren't certain things sprinkled in to cater to veteran fans of the series. All in all, Resident Evil 7 is a gem ****. Fans of old school Resident Evil will feel right at home, and newer players will be able to jump right in. It is not without its faults, such as questionable sound design for some circumstances, and lack of extra modes. However, there is plenty to enjoy in the molding corridors of the Baker Estate.

Transformers: Devastation

Devastation is quite easily the best Transformers game ever made. It has amazing combat, great voice acting, and a look that really feels like an episode of the original cartoon. The only negative thing I'd have to say about this game is that its a tad short. My campaign time clocked in at around 4-5 hours. If it wasn't for that, then this game would be a perfect 10. However, the game kept me coming back for more with its additional difficulties, challenge missions, and finding the hidden items in each level. I'd say wait for a price drop, and then pick this game up. It is another enjoyable action game by Platinum, and a great Transformers game.

Onechanbara Z2: Chaos

Onechanbara Z2 Chaos is a game that will either be a gem or a dud for players. Personally, I love it. The newest title in the over the top series, Z2 Chaos continues to deliver on the fan service front. Gore? Check. Zombies? Check. Scantily clad protagonists? Check x4. Yes, you will take over four characters in this game. All have unique little quirks that set the apart from one another: Look, weapons, moves, etc. Speaking of moves, the gameplay actually feels fun, slicing and dicing zombies proves to be a great blood-soaked endeavour. My only real gripes with the game would be the area you visit in-game look somewhat at times, and the fact there are still horrid those damned invisible walls. Sadly there is no multiplayer as well, something I feel as though the game initially had in mind. But all in all, if you're wanting something fun and bloody to pass the time, pick this game up. Its the best installment in the Onechanbara series, and an overall excellent little game.

I'll kick this off by saying that the game isn't for everybody. If you LOVE Godzilla, then this is the game for you. However, if you are only familiar with Godzilla and seek fast, frenetic gameplay, amazing graphics, look elsewhere. The game does a fantastic job of recreating the look and feel of the films it is based off of. You can feel the weight of the monsters as they stomp and smash their way around each map. You'll really feel as though you're playing as Godzilla. This is all thanks to the developers and how they wanted to emulate the way they moved in the movies. My only nitpick stems from that since this is a PS4 port **** that was originally on the PS3, the graphics do look a tad dated. Besides that, I really have nothing negative to say about Godzilla. Its a solid game and an amazing love letter to all fans of the Big G. Pick it up if you're in need a Godzilla sized fix.
