Thank you to have a silly pricing policy on this dlc which is regurlarly 20% off on the eshop while the full bundle is 50% or more off. A very nice to repay people that paid full price the game when it came out by not making the same sales. It makes sense as people who have the base game will be interested in dlc more (so eager to pay more) and wanting to attract new people with a full bundle, but personnally I found this reasoning ... well disgusting.
Once you get used to the look and the simplicity of the gameplay, you begin to dig the depth of this perfect deckbuilding game that for now is first and unmatched by others. Tons of replayability and perfect for the switch !
A true gem, mixing the rogue-like with a strong and deep narrative is working just perfect. I'm just doing another run to see how I can interact and dialog afterwards with people. And thanks a lot for putting the divine mode : I started normal but feel bored dying the third boss again and again, and had the feeling of not progressing at all ; I put then the divine mode and begin to explore the lore, the combo and the technics with difficulty but no frustration (and I am now at the 80% limit so you can see I'm not good at hades but who cares, it is just such an enjoyable journey). I'm always looking for " too hard" before buying it and knowing that the divine mode exist (and optional) is just for me what make me buy it. I forgot about it at the start but now I wouldn't have gone that far without it. Thanks again and A LOT for thinking of bad (old?) players that **** at games but can still enjoy the wonderful game design of it. Thanks thanks thanks !!!
Clearly a masterpiece in level design to make you learn and get surprised progessively. A bit of a brain burner sometimes but it is a gem (if you don't care at all about graphics).
Honestly I don't understand the hype about it. It is quite bland, humor is ok but overall everything is average. I enjoyed far more West of loathing for example. I regret buying this game and it give me discredit on the metascore rating.
It is a bit funnier that Shovel knight (and more rewarding somehow) but still it is a hard game (dying repetitively on bosses is boring for me) but the ambiance/graphics and exploration are cool. It still annoy me that general tendency is to do hard games - or not putting the option of an easy game, here on bosses only: as a consumer, I try to avoid as soon as I am aware of it and once again I failed. Now I died 30 times on Hornet, trying to optimize everything (amulet with recovery, cocoon near to get 2 extra life each time...), I know what to do (I have the pattern of attacks) but still not managing to do it. I'm on the mode of opening the game for 10 death and close it to play something else. Maybe one day I will discover more of the game, which I found intriguing and interesting (I explored everything else possible with my limited options) and no I don't have the impression to personally learn something from this fight... Update: 20 hours later, I enjoy a bit more some part (collected 25 charms and starting to do combo with them), still avoiding as much as possible bosses (I only did false knight, hornet, dung defender and broken vessel), still facing a lot of death :)
I'm not sure to be a big fan of platform games, but I want to try with this one. Ok game. I absolutely hate the lightning / darkness features that make you jump / act blindly : if this is the notion of fun, it bored me to death. But there is more than that, and I can understand the praise, though a bit disappointed. Maybe platform game is simply not for me (but then enjoyed a lot Mario Odyssey).
Nice graphics and good rpg, but overall grinding for xps is a bit boring at some points, and a lot of fights are repetitive and not challenging. A few bugs and crashes also but nothing to be too frighten for.
A weird mix of mechanisms (a light platform for collecting, a light match three for cooking, a light rpg for the story) which works together nicely with nice graphics. Not the best game ever, but fairly good enough.
Clever system, wonderful universe and graphics that lead you into a travel into time and space. But really really short (was really frustrated to finish it, which also is a good sign) and with an anti-climax ending (in term of challenge).
A weird crossover that works just fine: fun, quite simple, challenging sometimes. Turn-based tactical games tends to be boring and technical most of the time, here it stays under the right limit of complexity.
6-hours teen movie with small impact of the narrative on gameplay but enough storytelling to keep interested in the whole session. For a cheap price, it is good.
A bit overpriced for what you get (ok there is more material, but on the other hand the mini-games should be less expansive): overall, the DIY / small games experience is fun with kids.
Did the mistake to play with crimson court dlc from the start and it was a bit too hard. Restarted with base game (then included the dlc afterwards) and it was really a blast : you can only build/grow your hamlet and have to face death/stress of the dungeons with your adventurers (tactical fights). A very good mix in a well-put dark universe. Congrats !
Well maybe permadeath is just not for me (darkest dungeon was beginning to make me feel different) and hard game as well : after dying the first night, dying the first hounds, dying collecting flowers and becoming insane, dying the first winter, dying at the first deerclops (and this last death without the feeling of learning something), I'm feeling a bit bored of starting again and again. There is no guidance within the game and it's easy to feel lost. I think I will flee games where hard is emphasis a bit from now on, because frustration is more present than pleasure. Especially true when you want to play easy and portable mode.
Interesting streamlined tower defense/exploration/economy game and mainly based on the rhythm/order you build things. But you lack information on consequences and have to learn it the hard way, which means to start over and over. While this is fun at some point, it becomes quickly boring and repetitive, especially when a single mistake cannot be undone and leads to another hour of restarting the same process.
Well the storytelling around the golf system is fun (though I feel like the controls on Switch are not intuitive for me at all and took me a bit to get familiar with). My main complaint : the Frisbee is just really really bad design, I have to force me to pass over these tests to go through the whole game and give it a fair chance, but the overall experience at the end wasn't THAT great.
Honestly very very standard point & click, with a bit of humor. Disappointed, because I was expecting more clever puzzles and less linear storytelling. It doesn't make me feel like I wanna go to the point & click nostalgia anymore...
Maybe I was expecting too much but it really feels like the game is too short, and that they just stop the level design in the middle where there could have been so much more tricky puzzles. Almost the feeling of a tutorial, which say the less is disappointing. A good starting idea though.
Ok game, but feels a bit repetitive after a while. You're doing the same things over and over with no big change and nothing to discover, and in comparison, I enjoyed more Mario and rabbids kingdom (unfair comparison), which at least has a fun theme and 2D tactical move.
It is indeed a very good game and the reason I bought the switch from the start. Not disappointed but a bit lost by the open world and the difficulty of the fights (which is not what I'm fond of). I like exploring / discovering things, and I still have a lot to do. My only complaint : I properly hate the rain system which is pointless and make you wait for nothing.
I didn't know the game on PC, wasn't really into the whole idea of grow your farm / relationship thingie, and discovered it on Switch : by far, the best investment, a blast, could be time consuming, kind of relaxing game where you are doing a day to day routine with a lot of other things going on. Impressive work from a single developer and its own spirit which makes it unique.
Really really short game (well it is cheap also) and a bit linear/flat in storytelling (especially ending). I enjoyed a lot more Oxenfree which at least sold me a good "teenage" movie. Here nothing left at the end.
A Mario title is always mostly-anticipated and no disappointment here : kind of "easy" (some may see that as a weakness but I honestly prefer relaxing / easy game to hardcore / challenging / prove what? game), "open" world (as you may chase a lot of moons as mini-challenges or just go straight to the end), clever level-design (how to reach some platforms... how some hazardous jumps may at the end help...) and a childish universe that made its success. A must have for Switch !
