A game that does everything you would expect at a high level but doesn't have much replayability. I went into this not knowing what to expect and it delivered on the skating front. Animations look superb and gameplay is buttery smooth. My only problems with the game are as follows: No casual online game modes, I can't believe there's no online free skate random audio mixing issues, maybe this is just a pc version thing but the music will randomly get loud frame rate choppiness when playing online I know it's trying to stay true to the original games but being unable to get off your board is especially frustrating in certain situations, especially with how fast you move.
Game is unplayable due to broken controls. I looked online for optimal controller setup and it still has this bizarre input lag, can barely drive in a straight line. Deleted the game 30 minutes after downloading.
Fun game to play with friends and the career mode is overall good but the striking is way too slow and draining. It's like there's almost an input delay when you press a button and your person gets gassed after one combo. The grappling system is incredibly frustrating because there's no clear way to get out **** and despite beating the career mode I still don't know how the submission system works. Anytime I was put in a submission I had to restart the match because I would automatically lose despite following the in game prompts. The ai difficulty curve is fantastic as long as they aren't doing grappling. Sometimes you'll have a fight that goes the distance and other times you'll win a fight with a lucky shot 30 seconds in. The controls are a bit more intuitive than 2 as well as the difficulty being much more manageable. If you're a UFC fan pick this one up.
Surprisingly good game with a few flaws. The P2W is kept at a minimum, the animations look good and it's fun when you're playing, however the game lacks content, the commentary is terrible, and in the one mode (nba live's version of my career) you probably spend more time clicking through menus and watching loading screens than you do actually playing basketball. Also jumpshooting is bizarre, the shot meter doesn't really make sense.
An extremely fun racing game with a few quirks that prevent it from being perfect. Controls are occasionally unresponsive and point to point events are repetitive as it's the same 8 locations and navigating the city is confusing without any sort of GPS system.
While it is a different fallout experience, I think the game is very good. Combat is vastly improved and the world is fun to explore. The map isn't as restrictive as new vegas and modding has been expanded on tremendously. Also you can sprint.
The best pro skater. Level design is near perfect, goals are challenging but not too difficult, soundtrack is phenomenal and the amount of content is staggering. An exceptional game that I would recommend to anyone.
Once you get the hang of it, swinging around the city is second nature. The combat is a little hard to get used to at first and I feel like it's made a little too difficult at times by swarms of enemies, forcing you to go in the air and to dodge bullets, but once you start flowing it's great. This dethrones Spiderman 2 as the gold standard of open world super hero games.
A better version of an already amazing game. The FPS view adds a lot to the experience. The addition of grass is amazing. If you already have it, you may not want to upgrade but if you don't, just buy it already.
Absolutely fantastic remake of an incredible game. I recommend downloading it from Desura instead of other websites. Controls are spot on, visuals are great, and the sound is better than ever. It's free, get it now!
Dirt 2 was a fantastic game. If you want a great racer pick that one up. Let me start off by saying that the core driving mechanics are largely the same. That is a positive. However there is no progression system. You don't get to save up and buy a car, you don't get to race pro's, the menu's are awful and you'll spend more time clicking through them than actually racing, the gymkhana is annoying and the handling is more arcadey to accommodate this new fad. The tracks aren't nearly as interesting and are much wider and easier to handle. Such a disappointment.
Good for a solid few hours of laughter but once you decide beating the levels sounds like fun, you'll meet your demise. Part of the fun in Surgeon Simulator's gameplay is the clunky controls but on the PS4 they are absolutely awful. It makes the game unplayable when attempting to play seriously.
Poorly designed port but can be fixed easily by downloading dsfix and placing it in your DS folder. Game all but requires a controller but I prefer controllers so I won't knock it for that.
TLOU is an extremely pretty game. It does enough to separate itself from its PS3 counterpart to warrant a second purchase. This package includes the Left Behind expansion and all multiplayer DLC. The story is incredible. There are twist and turns and you never really know what will happen next. I found myself having no idea when the game would end!. The intro is extremely emotional. The game takes hold there and never lets go although the first 30-1:00 after that are extremely boring. Once you get through that it is a great game. The visuals are stunning. Combat requires carefully planned strategy and execution. The gunplay feels a bit clunky at first after upgrading Joel and acquiring more powerful weapons it feels right at home. The zombie AI is frustrating but not intelligent. It will get cheap shots on you more times than you can count and getting killed by a clicker (a powerful zombie that can instakill you if it gets close) sometimes these aren't fair and restarting an area with them over and over again gets tiresome. The same can't be said for human enemies. They are extremely smart. They will find ways to get around you and attack you from behind. Fighting a group of enemies at once is extremely stressful and nerve wracking. The locations throughout the story are varied and beautiful. The last section of combat in the story is tiresome and a low point. Crafting requires thinking as things like health packs use the same equipment as molotovs. The multiplayer is great and puts a new spin on stealth gameplay. It requires careful coordinating with other players. It has an extremely steep learning curve. My best advice is move slow and stick with your teammates. The crafting interface works well here and the maps fit in nicely. The left behind DLC is good but not as much as the main story line. Overall this is a fantastic game with only minute issues.
To give you some context, I loved Fallout 3. I have hundreds of hours played with over 700 saves. After exhausting that game and moving on to New Vegas I am pretty disappointed. I was excited to play it but that quickly turned to boredom after realizing that you have to walk for literally 10 to 15 minutes towards your next objective. The entire world is a wasteland and hardly anything interesting will appear in front of you on your journey. Mountains that can't be climbed cover the landscape and prevent any hope of getting somewhere quickly. The world doesn't scale to your level, quickly deterring anyone from exploration. You can be killed quite fast upon venturing into the wrong area. Missions are the most repetitive fetch quests I've ever seen. Whereas 3 had varied mission structure almost every single (Probably 9/10) mission requires you to talk to someone, then return with what that person said. Several actually request that you talk to person x, return to person y with what x said, go back to person x, go back to person y, and so on. I experienced more action exploring a vault that was off the beaten path than I have in any mission. I was extremely underleveled for this vault and went through almost all of my ammo and 14 stimpaks. Due to this I almost hit a brick wall 1 hour in to the game. This is a far cry from Fallout 3's extremely exciting mission variation. Certain areas require going through 3 separate loading zones to get to. The loading screens aren't short either, typically 15-20 seconds each. If you are in a town, fast travel will not tell you where to go, you first have to exit the town which is extremely time consuming. Certain quests have mandatory separate quests that you must do first before proceeding, something that the game does not tell you about which will lead to confusion. The gameplay is typical fallout. The varied weapon design is nice. Being able to aim down the sites is a welcome touch but typically isn't that useful. It obstructs your view and moves too slow for tracking down enemies. Vats will still be used more than anything. The locations are extremely dull and exploring isn't rewarding at all. The game hits a high point just a few hours in but then falls flat with no direction on what to do afterwards. Completing certain missions will cause you to fail other missions and the game doesn't let you know when this will happen so SAVE OFTEN if you want to complete everything. I find this game extremely disappointing. It's a decent attention getter but not much more than that.
Is this game perfect? No. Is it horrible? No. What it is is pretty good. The missions are extremely repetitive. You'll find yourself traveling to a location, deploying ghost, defending him, and moving on. The gunplay is very good and so are the special abilities. The loot system is a bit broken. Doing a mission that takes an hour will net you 2 pieces of decent equipment. The presentation is very good. Graphics are quality and level design is nice. Story is blah. I didn't pay attention to it. Where this game shines is with friends. You can say that about almost every game but this one in particular is extremely fun. If you want a good coop game to play with buddies this is it. The genre hardly exists today and this works great. The PvP is fantastic. I enjoy it a lot. Excitement and unpredictable moments happen again and again. It requires skill to stay alive and get kills. I think it is more fun than the campaign. If you enjoy playing games by yourself this isn't for you. If you like partying up with friends and having a good time you'll like this one.
Extremely exciting game. The presentation and interface is excellent. It was able to run at a steady 60 fps on high on my GT745M so this game is optimized very well for PC. Immediately one will notice the lack of a single player. This game is all about the multiplayer so I won't downgrade it for that. What I will downgrade it for is clunky controls. Moving so fast with a mouse and keyboard isn't optimal. With players moving extremely fast it is almost impossible to get a good shot off. Teams are filled with bots. They don't do much and are basically free kills. This doesn't seem like a negative until you get into the heat of a battle and start shooting at 4 bots only to have an enemy player kill you from somewhere else. I would have preferred no bots because they are a distraction. I'll find myself killing 10 bots/game and only 2 players. This game lacks content. There are very few equipment selections available and to make everything else paid DLC, especially in a game that lacks a single player campaign in absurd. A bare bones IP that lacks multi player content and single player shouldn't fall victim to the "season pass" treatment. The game is very innovative with movement. The titan gameplay could be improved. It isn't nearly as exciting as it could be. I'm more excited to get titans because they are overpowered than because they are fun to use. Maybe I'm out of the loop but the game never said how to defeat a titan. You'll get killed over and over again by them because it doesn't make sense how to take one down as a pilot. As a titan all you can do is just shoot at one. I like the game. It's not worth $60. It's fun but don't expect it to reinvent the fps genre. It's a nice change of pace but the lack of substance keeps it from reaching its full potential.
