Cyberpunk 20776
Dec 18, 2020
Don't listen to the overhyped disappointed kids. Cyberpunk seems to be a decent game, which suffers from a rushed bad launch. Possibly a data crunch coders revenge on the company management. Putting it simply I'll never again pre-order any game, as it encourages developers to deliver an unfinished, unpolished, untested product too early. I did that with Warhammer Age of Reckoning Online and I did that with BF4, just as I did that with Sponge Bob Square pants and Cyberpunk. You know what... the only one that wasn't a disappointment was the Sponge Bob. I play on an older powerhorse i7-965x PC so there is a multitude of errors in CyberPunk 2077. Which weighs on the overall experience, but most of these said errors and glitches don't seem to be game-breaking more like immersion-breaking hiccups that could and probably will be resolved by CD-Project in the foreseeable future. Thou I must admit the the AVX compatibility is a big oversight on their part, as there seem to be still a lot of people with older powerhorse cpus who didn't upgrade to new machines simply because their good old powerhorses are still running 99% of games flawlessly. This is the 2nd time I encountered the AVX issue with a game and the other game was Children of Orc on steam. I . So the first one I encountered was the AVX crash after tutorial in a bar, as soon as I left the pub game would crash on me in exactly the same spot. So far to my understanding, this hasn't been resolved by CPR and I managed to bypass it by running the game with a user modified exe file available on ModNexus it bypasses the AVX error. It does so I assume by disabling its calling functions completely in the game file. To my understanding, the AVX functions are responsible for things like where the objects and NPC are, and when in the game. II. Disabling AVX could explain later behaviour/glitching that constantly repeats in-game afterwards. Lots of objects seem misplaced, three or more NPCs spawning at the same time in the same place and making a T pose, cups, burgers, cigarettes hanging in space at the same time another cigarette is being smoked by an NPC they are assigned to who is nearby, or at that spot. III. Objects that seem to be collectable/pickup enabled, yet I am unable to pick them up, often ones that are laying on or near other objects, like some drugs on a bin, or a card by the doors in your apartment. Seems like the larger object would be covering them somehow wits it mesh or something so that they can't be interacted with. But this could have to do with AVX as well. IV. Some objects seem to have their textures missing or there is something wrong with their geometry, but more like missing or incorrect textures. One way or another they are displayed as something completely out of place. V. Ragdolls and bodies behave strangely after they die, some you can mutilate further some you don't. Some are rock solid some flop about, most of the posses are a bit off and hanging over the ground. VI. All character facial on body animations for random people conversations seem to be missing. VII. You can't just mug people, how do you want me to be a cyberpunk if I can't mug people right in the middle of the street for fun. VIII. Random NPCs hit absolute panic mode not just after you shoot or blow up a grenade nearby but as well as soon as you bump into them with your character especially while running. They hit survival mode, scream a lot, make the rest people around them panic and don't seem to leave that mode until you leave the area, and come back later. Overall it feels immersion breaking, would be much better if they would return to normal activities after a while if the danger is over. VIII. Didn't notice any changes in weather effects so far so that's meh. IX. Smoke has no physics. X. Mirrors do not reflect the character and the world reflected is very blurry. Beside the shabby apparent window. XI. You can't play in the third person camera, besides while driving the car. XII. Difficulty and Enemy NPC behaviour after being attacked/hacked is rather limited, their spotting range is quite short as well. This makes the whole experience rather easy. XIII. Some items and objects have their description messed up and it's showing the literal text path from the file and then the text of the description, or some similar blunder. XIV. Geometry elements like wires etc. sometimes are incorrectly sized or attached to building so it looks like they're socketed into a thin air etc. mostly encountered on rooftops. XV. There is no wall running and the parkour elements are a bit stiff. As well rooftop areas are rather empty. XVI. Most cars drives ok but the collisions are a joke, in both terms, the damage/destruction and the heaviness/weight feeling, cars feel like they're made of cardboard because of this. They lack velocity if I'm correct. XV. Environmental destruction is not what they promised. 6/10 for now.

It'a boring, slow, uninspired, graphics are mediocre, combat is tragic, units management is horrible, voice acting is like 12 year old makes a prank call, missions are long and boring, quests are super generic and the game overall is a puke and probably was a puke at the time it came out. It has nothing to do with Settlers, settlers is a kingdom management game, this is a bad taste RTS. I regret spending my quids on it in 2019.

Don't believe any of the steam reviews about the game. They all lie. Some of them even claim it's a 2SS (Two Stick Shooter), so they definitely didn't play this crap. What could have been a somehow enjoyable 2SS (if you look past the slow pace and poor graphics) is ruined by insane decision to make the movement assigned to right click button. So you shoot with your mouse and you move with your mouse, in a game where you have to aim at enemies while dodging bullets at the same time. To make it worse the character won't move to the location you clicked on, oohhhh noooo it will slide in that direction uncontrollably like a trolley full of shopping with no breaks, until it eventually hits the wall and stops, or until you chose a different wall to slide towards. While trying to aim and shoot enemies, all with use of the mouse and its two buttons. Utterly unenjoyable piece of garbage, stay away and don't trust those steam reviews, bots seem to rock them.

From the 20 minutes I played it, I can say it's a Diablo I Lite Version with controller support. There isn't much else to it. Yes it's a solid game, I didn't encounter any bugs. But it's rather a development showcase/training or something like that by some indie devs, feels like it's lacking a lot, yet it's finished. Not a game that I would spend time playing in 2018, as there are so many others like it but better, in almost every aspect. Still it seems a solid and finished product.

Good game for all ages... it's small (one screen / level), it's fun (lots of weapons and cute gore), it's short (3 stages with 4 levels each), but difficult to beat and master. It took me multiple attempts to beat each level(noob) and you have to beat all 4 in a stage in one go, to proceed to next stage. Fans of Worms, Liero and old-school arcade will definitely find it fun. Good game to escape for half and hour every now and then.

Couldn't bother to complete. **** sidescroller with so, so combat mechanics. Has decent Art Style, but boring level design. It's a combat sidescroller, not a classic platformer kind of game. Mark of the Ninja was way more atmospheric and interesting game. What killed it for me is lack of decent controller support, x360ce didn't work for me and some other players, as far as I know. Even thou the game suggests at its loading screen, that it's best played on a gamepad.

PROS: Amazing art style. Decent graphics - it's a cartoon. Nice music. O.K. Sound. Interesting mini puzzles & games. Good nerdy humor. Interesting, challenging gun-play. Responsive controls. CONS: Crappy level design, apart the puzzles and a tiny bit of platforming, you just keep running in one direction for most of the time. It get's boring real quick. Enemies are so, so. But the greatest FLAW of the game is its VERY SHORT PLAYTIME. Is sort of like the Devs did run out of steam. It took me about 3 HOURS to beat.

Imperial Glory5
Dec 30, 2017
I write this quick review in in 2017. Imperial Glory was a decent game, when it came out in 2005. Unfortunately (2009) Empire & (2010) Napoleon Total War outshine it in every aspect. Battles are small short and tedious, mostly because of awkward UI and control choices. Biggest downturn for me was lack of free camera movement. Sure you can move it left, right, up and down, but the height it reaches is really low. So I found myself looking for hilltops etc. just to elevate my camera higher and overview the battle from a better angle that way (not to be funny Napoleon used a balloon to command and overview battles - apparently lack of it, was one of factors leading to his loss at Waterloo). To top that up you can't change the cameras fixed angle so your're stuck with whatever it's set to by the devs, it's a huge pain. Another problem is lack of default line formation when selecting and moving multiple regiments. They'll just move in whatever mess they are in, when you click them to move. So because of this you end up with a lot of tedious battle micromanagement, where sometimes unit's won't acknowledge orders and you'll have to order them multiple times to make them follow your command, or they'll stop executing the order midway as well from time to time. Battlefields themselves can be much more interesting than the ones you encounter today in Total War titles (love these small hills). Unfortunately simple and aged graphics, as well as lack of fortifications, or some form of decent cover, take away most of the charm. Surprisingly I was able to run the game on Windows 10 without issues on nVidia card. Fiddling with "****" file allows you to play in 1920x1080 but with 4:3 ratio so edges are black. 4 Change these lines in **** in game folder if you want to play windowed or high resolution. [ .FULLSCREEN TRUE (or FALSE your choice..... don't copy that) .SX 1920 .SY 1080 ]

Thief 1 without a bow and with a wimpy goblin. Huge levels reminded me of Blades of Darkness, still it gets old after few hours at best, and minimalistic RPG elements, together with Relics Collection (1 relic each level) are hardly enough to keep you going. Plays alright on a gamepad but is lacking a tiny bit in edge detection department. Gameplay is slow and repetitive, with a slow, dull story, fights consist mostly from dodging and parrying as you can't really attack the big stupid humans. Character are alright, but definitely not from a **** best part of this game is the level design and some scenery from time to time. I'll give it 7 but it's 6.5 really. DmC: Devil May Cry5
Dec 12, 2016
DmC 1 was fun because it was unique and one of a kind when it came out. Story and characters were super cheesy from the beginning. All the sequels afterward although bringing some little new additions to the series, would differ insubstantially in the overall picture, sometimes even managed to downgrade the experience. DmC 3 offered some replayability value and some puzzle, but in the end... it was just more of the same repetitive button mashing with little content apart of the story. If you want a fun action, Good vs Evil game, do yourself a favor and play one of the Castlevania games. DmC might appeal to people that do look for a cheap thrill in gaming, but to me it's just a repetitive, linear, heavily scripted, button masher, with a cheesy... kind of kitschy, and predictable story. As if this wasn't enough it tries to add replayability value where there is none, by scoring your missions, which you can replay to obtain a better score. Scoring is based on combo system, completion time and avoiding damage (if I remembered right). The best part of the whole series are the overall graphics and animation, with surreal sceneries, still meshes are quite simple at times and textures are not mindblowing either, but overall it plays out as and interesting graphical experience. As well monsters aren't very unique and quite often "they don't look like anything to me"WSref. Even thou well-animated combat is incredibly repetitive and gets old real quick, is suffers from lacks overall customization and deeper RPG elements. DmC4 at the top of that is really slow. Which brings me to a conclusion that this game should be remade into a 3D animated movie. Finally, it tries to make itself more serious by adding a vile language, this makes it an ultimately silly choice, as it makes itself unavailable to the younger audience, to which the cheesy overall experience would be much more appealing, as a child's imagination tends to overlook the overall obvious flaws. Instead, developers choose to insult, the grown-up audience, especially the older generation of gamers that look for some deeper, unique, quality experience. Just like most mediocre movies these days, I rate it 5/10 as that's all it is... another mediocre game.

Prepare yourself for unnecessarily over-complicated pile of micromanagement, with a troublesome, unwieldy, cumbersome, uncomfortable, inconvenient, annoying, bulky, cramped, unmanageable, incommodious, management and interface :D simply because of that one reason alone the game is impossible to enjoy. Anyone who tells you otherwise is full of .... . For a game to be good it has to be accessible, no matter how complex it gets. Sadly HOI3 is completely inaccessible with DLCs and patches up to date. You'll be overwhelmed by millions of left clicks you'll have to go trough, to actually make things happen. You can leave it to the AI, but it fails at doing a good job at it. So unless you're a big fun of tedious micromanagement, I wouldn't recommend this product. In the end it's sort of a semi-sim as most the events are predetermined from the start and by the players state starting power. Don't expect "heroic" conquest with Hungary or anything like that :D unless you cheat the s.... out of the game. I do enjoy Paradox releases, sadly HOI3 isn't one of them.

Supreme Ruler Ultimate6

I love SR but it's not a strategy game but a World SIM. When you look at it this way, it's pretty good at doing what it supposed to. Army management is too complex to be bothered with it manually, so you end up setting it to automate. While manually controlling few small army groups. You can control your AI with hotspots and policies. Army management is too complex to manage it manually when you play with a big and rich country, game screams for some battlegroups system or army system like in HOI, but with keeping the AI aspect in place. The game fails at one thing, POPULATION. No matter how you play no matter if you spoil your citizens with **** loads of goodies, low prices, low taxes still it won't affect population and migration enough to make any significant difference in a long run in the game. Thus there is no chance to overtake USA, RUSSIA, UK, FRANCE, JAPAN, CHINA with a country like TURKEY or UKRAINE, simply because of the population issue. Even if you cheat the **** out of your game. It’s really disappointing as the game lets you play only within predetermined historical frame and this ends up you realizing you don’t really have much control and you just replay the history with small alterations. Say you try to defend Poland when Germany attacks it, or do the same with Czechoslovakia, it’s literally almost impossible to achieve, especially at higher difficulty levels. What I liked in other games of that type is that you could alter the history the way you wanted. In SR a lot of it is sort of predetermined and you have no say over how the future plays out. Realistic maybe, but definitely not fun. As everything is automated it gets a little boring in a long run. Diplomacy is dull even thou its based on a good concept. There is no role-play so not a lot of random events or influence groups and nothing really driving behind the conquest. Borders change very randomly upon conquest and colonization and there is no way to affect them by yourself which is again disappointing. It's overall fun for a while but falls short in a long run, as in the end there is nothing to do in the game, and most things are predetermined by the starting population levels. I spend over two hundred hours in the game, yet most of the time it was AI playing not me. I just watch the dots progress and make adjustments to policies every few hours. At the top of that the game works like sh..... in the late game on x64 bit systems it utilizes only 1 CORE and two threads on multi-core CPUs x64system and that slows the game down a lot when you operate a large army.

Stellaris5
May 21, 2016
Graphics and music are nicely polished for a game of that type, but not for a game of that price. Was hoping for bigger variety of fleet designs, space objects and entities, and for the battles to be more spectacular, and more of a blast when it comes to ships maneuvering, and different weapons. Event chains bug at times, reload fixes it. Army can get stuck at time so you can't use or disband them, yet you pay for them. Resources bug, so you have them, yet you don’t and can't use them. AI has massive problems with management and auto-management is broken. War tactics dumbs down to: pick a weaker enemy, stack your fleet in one stack, destroy enemy stack and conquer undefended planets. There is no real defence for planets that could stand a chance against any invasion. One reasonable way to defend systems is to build a ridiculous amount of expensive defence platforms. No point in destroying everything as space stations are transferable when you takeover enemy system, upon winning a war. Planetary assault is down to the numbers and no limit on assaulting force size with limit on defending force size, makes it so much easier (quicker than in EU and CK). Fleet is not bound by the invasion and troop transport doesn't need any escort, and you chose if you want to provide orbital support. Like in other Paradox games there is no choices in battles. I'd love to see some mini games with space battles and invasion, so that you can actually make a difference. Doesn't have to be big you know. Sort of a “Heroes of Might and Magic”. It doesn’t have to be Total War straight away. Just dumbed down the Paradox way, would be enough. Something that would give the stronger attacker a slim chance to loose and defender a chance to win. Paradox games always lack in that department and it makes them completely lack epic heroism. CK has the power play, EU has simple diplomacy and Stellaris has even less than EU. I’m sure it would make their games much deeper and enjoyable. With no tactical combat, there is nothing you can do for the computer to be better. Other than just let him behave like a$$ to the human, and let him cheat. That's exactly what higher difficulty is about. Research is as dull, at the beginning you get the feeling that there is a variety and they actually done something about it. But quickly you realize it's simple and dumbed down to few unique projects, and the rest is a lvl 1 to 3, or lvl 1 to infinity research. Each race feels the same, as there is no tech variety. Would love to see separate tech tree paths, which progress through in roleplaying fashion (complete missions to progress research, force you to invade empires and stuff). In the end it would make some technologies inaccessible, if you researched their equivalents and completely different tech tree paths would be nice. Variety of space stations is minimal, Frontier, Mining, Research, Terraforming, Observation, Military, Spaceport, Wormhole Generators. Other than for military platforms there is no way of upgrading them, which is well.... boring. There isn't a lot of defence stations and ships variations, I want to see massive gun stations that obliterate destroyers with one shot and stuff, death stars, MASSIVE SPACE STRUCTURES, ARTIFICIAL PLANETS AND CANNON SHIPS! Game screams for more weapon types: antimatter, gravity, plasma, ultrasound, microwave, dark matter and beam line of weapons. Planet destroyers, mobile space stations, force fields, stealth technology…. still because everything is dumbed down to one simple number, it doesn't really matter which weapons you use, as long as you keep a healthy ratio. Please add Stellar Council made up from all races, and some influence power play among races. With no galactic policies system or some sanctions and forced missions from most influential council members, there isn’t much to do. As well nothing that would drive you to conquer. It needs spy agents to steal tech and sabotage, merchants to improve earnings trade resource outside official channels, ambassadors to improve relations organise coups and takeovers, missionaries (to spread your culture ideology, make ideology like religion). Survey missions feel repeatable after one playtrough and they disappear in later game, after trading starcharts. Research ships become useless, other than survey the crap left after space battle that speeds up your research projects. Game gets really boring real quick, as there isn't much to do in the end game, other than paint map. So it is nothing more but a graphic makeover of EU with little bit of CK in space, and it doesn’t work well. EU was boring real quick, as it was a simple map painter and CK was fun for the power play but, same as EU it lacked in tactics department. For now, I can say for sure that it’s an unfinished (lack of content), not entirely polished (bugs), otherwise a cool game. Yet another clone of same mechanics, so gets old real quick. I think it was well intended by Paradox DLC MILKINGCO

Cute mini-game :D very simplistic and seems almost indie like. Nice reminder of the old days, but not as complex as some of the old games. Unfortunately it's not bringing anything new to the genre and feels a lot like simplified PG knock off, with "cute" graphics. It's a solid game for newcomers to the genre, but after 30 years of gaming I can say "Veni Vidi Vici Multis Vicibus" to this one. So for old farts like me, I'd only recommend it if you got nothing bigger to play :D

Not such a bad game. I had a mixed impression at 1st but over all 7/10. UI is terrible and micro-management which is essential part of the game becomes very hard and slow in later stage. Specially the planet part, once you figure out fleet management and resupplying button it gets a lot easier, but colony management and no alerts management is a mess (-2). Sounds are awful but music is nice (0). Gameplay is fairly good but tech trees could be longer and AI more engaging when it comes to diplomatic relations(-1). Overall a fairly solid game that delivers a new and interesting experience in space SIM genre. Recommended. P.S. I would love to see an update for larger maps.
