I am giving low score as many of the players were (maybe still are) encountering many bugs and technical issues, this game in terms of optimisation is a disaster, but I won't lie, the rest of the game I am not fond of either. I wasn't a fan of first Dishonored so I wasn't expecting much of it's successor. I play games from literally every genre and I am enjoying them, but Dishonored is this kind of game that doesn't do it for me. In my opinion the plot is not interesting and the steampunk setting is very odd in this game, but I can understand that others can enjoy it, that's why I have to say that if you liked Dishonored, Dishonored 2 you'll probably like as well. What I can say is that the graphics and audio are really good, I wasn't expecting them to be on such a high level.

Steep would be a perfect candidate for relaxing and fun game to play during winter with all activities it offers, including not only classic races and time trials but story missions as well, but the problem with this game is that it is un-polished. It has many bugs, glitches, technical issues and feels more like a beta than the full game which ruins it's potential for being relaxing game as all this things can really frustrate you after couple of hours of gameplay.

I was really sceptic before release about this game. After really average first Watch Dogs, I thought that going so "casual" into whole "hacking" thing will only make it worse, but I was wrong, really wrong. If you approach this game with distance and open arms for it's parody of "group of hackers" theme and won't take it seriously, you will have lots of fun. The best things in my opinion are references to pop culture, games and movies, and every crew member that seem like cool geek and not some grey guy with depression like in first Watch Dogs. The technical side of the game is also pretty good, as far as I am concerned I have not encountered any bugs (except not working multiplayer that was a major problem shortly after release of the game). It may not be a competition for GTA series, but it's definitely worth checking out.

If you are billionaire and swim in money, then go ahead and buy it, you will try something new for the price that won't matter to you, but for ordinary people, for this amount of money, it's one of the worst ways of spending it.

Dec 25, 2016
The game is not bad overall, but I think that the strongest advantages of it come from the books it is based on. The best thing of all is lore and plot, although the game feels like most movie adaptations of the books: too short to introduce properly every character, as a player I felt some kind of bond only with main character and two dwarven brothers that were introduced early in the game and had many dialogues involving them. The rest of the characters (and there were quite a lot of them) were for me some random characters with names attached to them. This game could really be longer and have more details about story that feel rushed as well. I have to mention voice acting as well, as for such low budget game, the dialogues are very good. Another thing that's awesome is the presence of third-person narrator that has it's own voice actor, which in my opinion is very rare in the RPGs as those usually fall into two categories: Those with voice acting but without narrator, or those without voice acting (written dialogues) but with narrator. The rest of the game seems unpolished. The combat system that includes friendly fire and a lot of AoE attacks combined together makes the combat really frustrating, not mentioning that because of that gameplay resembles more of a hack-and-slash game than RPG.

Dead Rising 2 is a very good sequel to the first Dead Rising. It's mechanics are very similar, with a few changes here and there. Generally, I can tell that Capcom choose to act safely with production of this game, not taking any chances with any dramatically big changes that could not appeal to the fans of Dead Rising 1. The problem is, that Dead Rising wasn't an excellent game and had many flaws, and the sequel was the perfect occasion to try to fix this by some dramatic changes. All in all, you could probably read some Dead Rising 1 reviews and you would exactly know what is wrong in Dead Rising 2.

The Last Guardian
7
User ScoreExpertPL
Dec 24, 2016
The Last Guardian is very unique experience, although not exactly the best I ever had in gaming industry. One of the best things about this game is that it is very relaxing, unless the fact that Trico (our animal companion) is sometimes not cooperative will frustrate you, but that depends on the player, as I still can't tell if it's intended to work like that by the devs or is it the problem with AI, because one player can treat it as a poor AI and consider it as a drawback, the other can treat it as a feature that helps in establishing bond with your animal friend (as we all know, animals can be really not cooperative). The one big thing that ruined the impression for me was the language, which is artificial, but the problem is that the words that we hear are very often the same, although the subtitles suggest that the whole sentence meaning is completely different. I don't really know what to say about this game. I love playing almost all genres of games, but with this one I have problem with assigning it to one of them. The easiest way to explain The Last Guardian is probably to say that this game is about relationship between human being (player) and the accompanying him animal.

Forza Horizon 3: Blizzard Mountain
6
User ScoreExpertPL
Dec 20, 2016
I'm not going to lie, this is a very big disappointment for me. The expansion is expensive and the amount of races is not satisfying (not mentioning around 8 whole new cars that has been added, heh). The new modes are simple sprints that go off or on the hill, nothing special about it (in comparison to the modes in The Crew that were different than normal races). The new customization options are non-existent, the only one is to add winter tires and that's it. To progress forward in expansion, it forces you not only to win races, but complete some extra challenge as well. You will need also to complete some of side activities like bucket list challenges, jumps etc. which in normal Forza were completely optional and you weren't forced to do them if you didn't like them (which I actually didn't). While every Forza had problems with balancing the difficulties on different races, this is the worst case. In some races I can get 3 out of 3 possible to achieve stars playing on difficulties like "Expert", while on the others I'm struggling to achieve 3 stars playing on the lowest "New driver", Many races have barricades with hitboxes that are low detailed, meaning that I often ended up hitting or bouncing the wall that I didn't yet touched. It is really frustrating when you want for example to overtake someone while being really close to a wall. The game has still not working multiplayer in groups, meaning that if you want to play with your friend, it will disconnect one of you from the other about 2 races after you connected so you have to reconnect again. This problem exists from the release of the main game and they still haven't fixed that, but instead, they release expensive expansion which adds really little to the game. Don't bother buying it for it's full price. Actually, I am the owner of Ultimate Edition and bought expansion pass that guarantees access to 2 expansions for 25$ (which is 10$ cheaper from the original price of the expansion pass), so the Blizzard Mountain price for me was around 12,5$ (considering this expansion being half of what expansion pass provides) and I still think that it isn't worth it. Comparing this expansion to Storm Island, first expansion for Forza Horizon 2, which added completely new races(off-road and rally, because Blizzard Mountain added snow races, but those are still rallies). Many new vehicles and customization options for them. It wasn't as bugged as Blizzard Mountain as well. I consider Storm Island to be ten times better than Blizzard Mountain. While I consider Forza Horizon 3 to be the best racing game ever, Blizzard Mountain is definitely an example on how not to do an expansion if you want it to be good.

Werewolves Within shows that the board games (or games based on the mechanics of board games) are a type of games that can greatly benefit from VR experience. As a fan of Battlestar Galactica board game, I was playing a lot of it in Tabletop Simulator and it would be a great improvement to use VR to it. Werewolves Within shows that VR doesn't necessarily need to be based on giving illusion of 3D, but can actually serve as a tool to show other players how you react and behave. If you are a Werewolf, you need to make sure that you won't raise suspicion by your actions. The missing thing probably is that the game doesn't recognize the movement of the controller, but I think that this is a compromise that's goal is to make sure that whatever VR gear you are using, you are treated on the same terms as the others.

Dec 11, 2016
Great RPG. Has a unique storyline. The engine is the same as in Pillars of Eternity. I love how the game very seriously shows what could happen if some evil Overlord would take over a continent. It's not "evil" like in cartoons or something, it's evil with shades of grey, moral problems etc. I like how the game plot is concentrated, it almost feel rushed, like for example movie adaptations of books, but the difference being that this "adaptation" is actually 40 hours long (my play time). The addition of the Conquest at the beginning of the game is by far the best new thing in the concept of retro RPGs. It's something that should have been implemented many years ago, in times of Baldur's Gates and first Fallouts. The choices aren't exactly game-changers but it's an easy way of introducing player to the game world and showing his role in it. The "hyperlinks" are another great thing added into the game. From the first moments in the game, characters speak using in-world proverbs and refer to the events that the player may not be aware of, if so, the only thing you need to do is to hover over the sentence and the game gives you a brief description of what it is about and to what it is a reference. I like how the game shows big game of politics, diplomacy and law enforcement instead of a typical for RPGs adventure type character. The 4 paths that player can choose to follow are also good, but it's sad that they don't really affect the final act which always is the same. I can't shake the feeling that the developers had different idea for the whole concept of the game during the development of it as first Act works as a prologue, that is very detailed, that shows you just one small area of the game, the second Act forces you to go from one area to the other, not even tries to tell a detailed story of any of the areas, where in third and last Act there are no side quests, no lore dialogues, but just final boss fights (if you can call them that way), making the final Act look like some action game with really poor plot. I would definitely prefer all acts to work as the first one, which I consider the best of them all.

Trackmania Turbo
6
User ScoreExpertPL
Dec 11, 2016
As a fan of Trackmania I am really disappointed. There are many problems with the game but I am not sure what I should start with. First of all, if you never played Trackmania games before, you may actually enjoy Turbo. This game introduces absolutely nothing new that's worth checking out besides new environment called Lagoon, which is actually a mix of original environments of Island (super fast cars) and Alpine (or Snow, high maneuverability cars and wooden segments which force you to drift), the new thing is electromagnetic segments which prevent you from falling down and jumping, which is a fine addition. The rest of new things which Nadeo (probably being forced by publisher Ubisoft) is completely useless and was for sure time-consuming during development: The addition of starting the race by being detached from helicopter means absolutely nothing more in terms of gameplay than just animation. The new comments that you hear during race are ridiculous and frustrating. Trackmania always was easy to pick and hard to master, where playing hard tracks you had to replay them dozens of times. Now with every checkpoint or touching the barriers you hear that "you have to be better next time" and "You will never make it". Really? That's so much demotivating, it seems like the game just want to make sure I will never play it again. Trackmania 2 environments (Canyon, Valley and Stadium) received new car models that change absolutely nothing other than textures (btw. IMO, the old cars were better-looking) and some segments were remade (and by that I mean that they are not prettier or changed in terms of gameplay, but just textures, for example Poles in Stadium are now prisms instead of cylinders). The whole look of the arcade game played on game machine doesn't appeal to my, but maybe that's just me. The biggest issue IMO is the lack of players playing it online, and beside the fact that it is caused by the quality of game, it's also caused because of some sort of instability in the community of Nadeo games. What I mean is that first Trackmanias (Original, Sunrise and Nations) all were independent titles that couldn't be mixed in multiplayer server lists. Trackmania United changed it, now every server could jump between environments every map assuring diversity in gameplay. Then Trackmania 2 arrived (Canyon, Valley and Stadium) which came with ManiaPlanet launcher nad Steam integration, which caused a lot of problems, because you had to launch game through Steam and then through ManiaPlanet. ManiaPlanet allowed you to jump between games but the online servers were still separated, so in order to play different environments you had to quit one Trackmania (for example Canyon) and start new one (for example Valley) and search new servers. The idea was that in future ManiaPlanet would be more integrated system of Nadeo games, but then Ubisoft arrived and made Turbo, compilation of Trackmania 2, which wasn't using ManiaPlanet at all, but instead, it started running on Uplay (in addition to Steam, which Turbo is also sold on). This exact instability if what think killed Trackmania for good. The last thing I want to mention is that Turbo was released on 3 platforms (PC, Xbox One and PS4) where older Trackmania games were never released on consoles, so for the console gamers it's a perfect opportunity to try out the famous Trackmania. The problem is that the online community is incredibly small on all platforms and the game does not allow cross-platform servers. meaning that if you are looking for online competition, this game is not for you, as you'll find server with 20 players and nothing more than that.

It's for sure not an ordinary adventure game. It's humor is very strange and kind of unique. Graphics and sounds are moderate to say the least, but it's not really a problem in this game, as it looks like the developers realized it nad made sure that despite poor graphic and sound quality, it won't be the thing that matters for players. The game is really short, finished it in 5 hours. There are no puzzles in this game (You pick an item and the game tells you what you should use it for, then you look for silhouette of the item suggesting where to place it). The strongest advantages of this game are it's characters which behavior is exaggerated (Teddy Bear named Vladdy forever in my heart) and it's humor.

Infinite Warfare's campaign is one of the best in the series, but the rest is lagging behind. Zombie mode could be very fun, but the matchmaking ****, it's looking for players from your country making this mode really unplayable for many players (I've been waiting from 10 to 40 minutes to find other players). Multiplayer is not bad, but it's not good either. It doesn't add anything new to the franchise except what the developers boldly call "crafting", which in reality is not crafting at all, it's just that every weapon you can get comes in several variants, the basic one, common, rare, very rare and legendary. By leveling up, you unlock basic one, the rest you can get by buying crates with keys or buying the variants with currency called salvage. The variants have some minor changes compared to the basic one, depending on rarity they have their own color (not like CS:GO, just for example legendary variant always comes with yellow skin) and give bonuses like reduced recoil etc. Advertised rigs are the same thing that was in Black Ops 3. The biggest problem is the amount of players in multiplayer which is incredibly low for CoD game making many less popular modes unplayable because there is no one playing it. If you are playing every CoD ever year just for online modes, I recommend you doing a pause this year. If you are playing just for campaign, then this is the game for you. If you never played CoD and want to try them out, go for it, it's the same as it predecessor.
