Any true fan or 'Trekkie' who has a 'Sense of Life' that is oriented toward reason would approve of what one reviewer comically quipped as 'Space Porn'. Indeed, for them, this is a 'Universe' we would like to live in. [Sense of Life:]> "Its consequence is the inability to believe in the power or the triumph of evil. No matter what corruption one observes in one’s immediate background, one is unable to accept it as normal, permanent or metaphysically right. One feels: “This injustice (or terror or falsehood or frustration or pain or agony) is the exception in life, not the rule.” One feels certain that somewhere on earth—even if not anywhere in one’s surroundings or within one’s reach—a proper, human way of life is possible to human beings, and justice matters." -AR

A film best viewed at home as it is slow in pace and requires the viewer to be comfortable and able to pause if distractions arise. While the pacing, length and questionable resolution are all valid criticisms - Shannon's performance is spot on captivating. A fair trade indeed. Your time in exchange for a remarkable (if not a bit disturbing) interpretation mental illness.

Pretty, yet hollow. Great CGI and action. Nothing to complain about, yet why spend all that money on a reboot that offers nothing new to the story? The tech and the action are all light years above the previous iteration, and from a superficial viewpoint it contains so many pretty gizmos that all but the most ADHD prone will remain attentive.

A Dark Menacing Gem of a Film Use of darkness to focus attention was unique. Nice menacing dark undertone that is lacking in so many optimistic films of the future. The combination of believable actors, story and excellent - but not overbearing CGI - all combined to make this film deserving of your attention. Caity Lotz was freakishly beautiful and menacing at once. Bravo.
