A pretty interesting satire on the state of the modern game industry and an interesting free-form puzzle game. The game takes place inside a broken game that is never going to be fixed and you are an entity that has found it's way into the world of the game. You can edit your enemies by going inside their heads and making them your allies, You can control said Allies, make them attack enemies and such. Sometimes you can get a little lost and it can sometimes take a while to figure out what to do but in my opinion that is part of the game's charm. I wholly recommend this game. There are some nice visual flourishes too. For example, the unfinished world is grey and drab but wherever you walk there is a spot of colour beneath you. Your 'Magic Circle' trap looks amazing as well. There is always some amazing thing to look at, some visually creative place in this forsaken world.

A great toybox. That's what I'd call this game. It has a steam workshop loaded with amazing projects. Type in anything you want and something'll come up. It has compatibility with other games allowing you to walk around maps from your favourite games and engage the characters in your sick fantasies. There are no restrictions and the community has made amazing things out of Garry's Mod. I cannot recommend this.. thing enough. For whatever price it is, it's worth it.

An interesting experiment. Good if you like twitchy endless falling games. The premise is that you fall through a nicely designed voxel world while avoiding the words that are being read out to you in an audio-book edition of Alice In Wonderland. Every so often the colour of the world changes and the speed of your cube increases. The world you are falling through is made up of twisting columns of voxel letters. A nice game with a pretty harsh difficulty curve (either that or I'm crap). Buy it and give it a go.

This game features a story that at first seems cookie-cutter but when you play a bit more, it's slightly less cookie-cutter. Slightly. The art is adorable and the characters are somewhat likable. There are some pretty tricky decisions and stat management to do. The mechanic of learning different classes is pretty amazing and the mood mechanic is nice too. Your choices have a pretty big impact on the game. Playthroughs can be VASTLY different. One annoyance is that you can often end up creating never-ending cycles of death that cannot be beaten and thus you are forced to restart the entire game so an autosave function would've been much appreciated. The protagonist really feels like an extension of you which is helped by the many, MANY things you can learn. On different playthroughs, it's hard to keep track of the different ways you can die in this game. There are plenty of opportunities to die in this game (ran through with a sword, killed by dark magic and poisoned by a box of chocolates to name a few). Often deadlines to do certain things can approach ALARMINGLY fast. Even when you're restarting the entire game because of a never ending cycle of death. But that's one flaw in an otherwise quite good Visual Novel/Life Simualtion. Get it in a sale.

The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series

A game I would show to someone who complains that games aren't art. The characters are all amazingly written and react to each other **** relationship between Lee Everett ( A man who was convicted of murdering his wife but was saved from prison by the zombie apocalypse) and Clementine (A little girl who hid out in her treehouse to get away from the zombies) is touching. The story is gripping and the cel-shaded art style really emulates the look of the comics. The scenarios create tension and despite the episodic format you are constantly worried for the safety of Lee and the crew (with the exception of a few...). A masterclass on tugging the heartstrings. Bring out the tissues.

A great game for newcomers to the Borderlands series. I bought it because of the good press the other entries in the series received, the art style and the fact that it was produced by Telltale. And boy, am I glad I did. The game switches between the perspectives of Hyperion company man, Rhys and con-woman Fiona. The game has a dark and off-beat sense of humor that never seems to falter. All the jokes made me at the very least go "Ha, ha. That's funny. I should be laughing. But I'm not. Probably due to my emotions being deadened from spending every waking hour in front of a computer". Which is a good thing, I guess. The menacing, crazy world of Pandora is absolutely engrossing. Learning more about it (and it's inhabitants) is an absolute delight). It's action setpieces are amazing ( a death race with Psychos and bounty hunters all racing for a Hyperion suitcase you need to get back, a battle between loader bots and bandits) but the moments I most enjoyed where when I was playing through Rhys' perspective and got to analyse things with his Echo-Eye implant. Completely inconsequential objects were given funny, detailed and interesting descriptions. The attention to detail is marvelous. You also get to hack things or control technology at specific points in the story with Rhys' robotic arm. Fiona's arc is touching and in my opinion the one with the best jokes. I absolutely recommend this game to anybody who like story-based point-and-click games. You won't be disappointed.
