The critic scores for this game are down right disrespectful... Its wild you see that the critics gave this game a 48/100, A FRICKING FOURTY EIGHT... In what world is that even a logical score? The game is the third most sold Sonic game of all time for a reason. Everyone was loving it back then. Meanwhile, Users gave it a 75/100. At-least the User score is somewhat reasonable... Then you go check out what the critics actually wrote up about the game, AND EVERY SINGLE REVIEW IS ON THE XBOX 360 OVER A DECADE AFTER THE GAME RELEASED, TALKING HOW THE GAME DIDN'T AGE WELL DURING THE BIGGEST TECHNOLOGICAL BOOM PERIOD IN HISTORY. What an absolute brainrot basis for critiquing something like a video-game. No normal person is using electronic tech from 1998, and literally a handful of games from that era "aged well," like Paper Mario for example, and those games that did age well only did due to artistic direction or **** the same story for the User scores that rag on the game as well... Were these people even conscious when the game released and remember the bad games of that era? Dude, Sonic Adventure has such great themes, sfx, music, game-play. Its short and sweet, to the point. I love the organic voice acting. Complete lack of perspective to dismiss retro games for not aging well smh. I refuse to be so dismissive and out of touch to retro games and the standards around their release. If you asked people when this game was out how they felt about it, it would be universal acclaim.
Games with the $30-$40 price tag are always a red flag to me. It instantly raises the question, “do you not believe in your game?” If HP:QC was a good Quidditch game, it could be full price, or free to play with micro transactions, and it would succeed no matter what. It would also be sitting with good reviews, yet it isnt. The hard reality is that this is not really a Quidditch game, at least that’s how i feel as someone who loves the IP. You’re bumping into Force fields, you’re catching the snitch multiple times in one match, you are flying through arcade game style rings, there is bot player fills, It’s just so unfortunate how much of a let down this Quidditch rip is, after such an amazing game like Hogwarts Legacy. I really thought we were gonna ride right into an actual AAA quidditch game and we got something that feels like a mobile app i lost interest in within an hour.
PROOF OF GAMING REVIEW MARKETING No really, I am sick of it. I saw that this game had a 9/10 rating because that Dunkey guy was behind it or whatever and I knew right away it had inflated reviews. ... and what do you know? I played it for like 10 miinutesand was bored to tears. I came back a second time and gave it another 15 minutes and now I am pretty sure this is just an extremely mid platformer. Im sick of the review marketing around games.
GTA5 is locked in. They gave the world charm. They brought us a great protagonist system. All three leads are great. Trevor is a timeless character. The story was diverse. The lines were iconic. Still a top played game over a decade later.
Probably the most boring and overrated FPS I have ever played. You cannot seriously boot this game up, play it, or watch it be played and look me in the eyes and tell me this is a 9.6/10. What a joke. Where does that leave gaming reviews? When this old clunky mid game is rated higher than 99% of all titles? Really?
These new Zeldas arent Zelda games. They are generic open world RPGs with a Zelda skin slapped on. The weapon breaking systems are terrible. There is no iconic characters or music the way there was in the older titles. Its just so watered down and unfortunately glazed to oblivion.
Its well made for its time and revolutionary, which is hard to be with a IP like Mario, that has tried so many different things. Classic gaming to game.
A classic. This is how all Zelda games should be. Til this day the music and memes infiltrate our lives. However, I do not beleive it is a "perfect game"... It isn't a perfect game. Go back and try to play this one again. You will find it clunky. You will find it TERRIBLY slow. You will find it hitting really slow strides mid game.
I prefer Sekiro to Elden Ring, but you sure do get a lot of content out of this one, if even to a fault. Lots of lore. Lots of emotion. Lots of memories of release week. A top ten all time game it seems.
I wasnt on the Witcher boat when this game released. I love its world and all that it encompasses, but going back to it, I just cant get through the game. The mechanics of the game are not good. I get halfway through everytime and just get sick of the combat, the horseriding, the stair climging... At the end of the day it brought us Gwent, which is possibly the best in game card game ever made.
Some mindless Souls Like shooter activity, which is fun dont get me wrong, but ultimately I just sorta petered out on playing it, so surely it can't be given a great score.
Another Crabs Treasure feels like a long-lost cousin to classic 3d platformers such as Bango Kazooie, but with a modern quality, and hashed with souls-like mechanics and plenty of charm. The fact that critics and players alike are review bombing such a great game speaks volumes.
Great game with absolutely terrible pacing. Instead of just giving you the game at a study pace, they drag it out and what ends up happening is you'll grow bored and tired of the same run over and over yet you'll still be unlocking features you wish you woulda had earlier.
This game being so high up on Metacritics "Games to play/must play" speaks volumes about this website and game reviews in general. I downloaded this game on Gamepass and let me tell you, I was bored within an hour and after 3 or so, I uninstalled. Yeah, it will take you back to the 90s, but is that really what you want? I for one want voice acting and other standards in my games.... but is this game a must play? Not at all. I completely forgot about it, until I just seen it on here boasting an 8/10 must play banner? If this game is a must play then screw it, any average game is a must play now lol... Ridiculous
I saw this game getting the "0/10 or 10/10" political reviews treatment, so naturally I had to download and check it out for myself on Game Pass and I played for a couple of hours... Let me tell you, this game is a lot like a gender studies degree. Yes, the devs put a ton of work into it, and it's obvious at times, but it doesn't really equate to anything meaningful in the real world.. at least not to the general population. It was an absolute chore to play, even just a couple of hours. I couldn't wait to get out and move on to something good. Skateboarding is so "arcadey" that it was becoming annoying. You can't even just cruise around and ollie. It was baaaad. The combat was so one dimensional, that I question why it's even in the game. It's chopped up with so much dialogue and the back and forth is so boring.. it's just like, why not skip it entirely? What is the point here? Of course, that would leave the game with not much else, as nothing else about it was really fun at all, definitely not the constant "relationship/ex partner" banter happening constantly. I didn't get too far into the game to really speak on other features, but think that says a lot in and of itself. The whole experience was very foreign and not in a good way. In a forced and niche way. I truly believe people giving this game a good rating have decided it's part of their personal belief narrative to just straight up lie and act like it's good because it is pushing the liberal stuff. Maybe they saw an article, a Reddit post, a negative review they didn't like and want to counter it.. IDK, but its all BS. TLDR: This game is super niche and feels like a foreign multicultural romance soap opera for a teen girl that 9/10 people aren't going to really take to and most of the positive reviews are from liberal social justice warriors lying about this game. Everything happening in the game is a poor quality rip from other IPs. The only praise the devs deserve is the attention to detail in some general aesthetic designs and proper voice acting. The content choices are atrocious. I genuinely had a 1/10 time with the game. The only reason I am giving a 3/10 is because of the obvious effort from the devs, but they should really put their energy into something more appealing next time
All they had to do is recreate the Friday The 13th game with a Texas Chainsaw skin and spice things up, but they chose the small "arena" fish in a barrel style gameplay like DeadByDaylight. It ****. Super basic. Cant do much. Escape options are not even canon. Like they couldn't think of cool stuff, so they threw 4 different types of gates and called it good, lol. I could keep going but that's the most of it. Call me when they drop full sized maps, let the victims fight back for real, and implement some interesting escape options that aren't just 4 different types of gates. We could call the Semi Truck guy, the cops, fix a boat, fix a truck, find a randomized secret hole in the fence... I mean c'mon. The only reason people are going crazy for the game is the aesthetics. Take that away and it is not good. They really missed here, and it's bumming me out. At least I got to play it off Gamepass so that's cool, because I would have been upset if I spent money on it.
