If you like endless action, this show isn't for you. I personally do really enjoy this more mature, more grounded take on Star Wars, so I'm really, really enjoying this. For once, Star Wars isn't plagued by wooden dialogue writing or awkward romantic tension; everything just seems to work here. I think it's fine for the universe of Star Wars to go beyond the simple and mindless fun of it all (which is valid), and to offer something more introspective instead.

Some men in this review section are doing a great job at showing how fragile their so-called "masculinity" actually is, complaining about female characters and all. Really pathetic to see that sexism is still tolerated on this website. Anyway, when it comes to "Kenobi", I'm honestly just bored of Disney tapping into the same few characters and timelines for their original Star Wars shows. How many more times do I have to see Luke, Leia, Kenobi and Darth Vader on my screens? Can't y'all come up with some new characters and stories for once, perhaps in a different timeline? The pacing of this show's plot is all over the place, the child actors (while delivering great performances) are given horrible scripts that make them sound like adults, and the planets are just dull at best. "Kenobi" just has no personality, and I don't see why this had to be its own thing. It's time to move on, Disney.

Emily in Paris: Season 16
Oct 4, 2020
This definitely won't be the most intricate show you'll ever watch, but it's an easy and comforting binge that'll make you forget about the global pandemic for the duration of its ten episodes. There are some issues with the portrayal of Paris being quite stereotypical and the show isn't fully clear on whether this is done intentionally or not. At certain points, the French cast will ridicule Lily Collin's character for being "too American" and "too dramatic", which are the moments when the show really sparkles and shows that it doesn't take itself seriously. At other moments, though, when Emily is hanging out with her American-Parisian friend Mindy, for example, it is not clear on whether Mindy is a character that should be viewed as ignorant as well, which can be a bit confusing. Don't watch this if you want something with a lot of depth. Watch this when you're in the mood for something fun, something uplifting, which is what it's meant to be and excels at.

It’s not the worst show out there by any means, but it’s also definitely not the best. While the visuals are striking and incredibly pleasing to look at, the protagonist herself is almost as two dimensional as it gets. Whatever decision she makes seems to strongly depend on the scene she’s in, causing her character to be highly unpredictable—but not in a suitable fashion to the show. The show is entertaining, though, and the concepts are there, which is why I did finish it, but the show is, I repeat, most definitely not the best.

American Vandal: Season 24

Overly dramatic American humor, which I absolutely did not find to be funny at all. Kudos to the editing and FX team, though. The show looks sharp and fresh :)

Insatiable: Season 18

It's not great, it's not that good either, but it's also absolutely not that bad -- and honestly it's not even that problematic. While some dialogue might feel a little bit akward and "eh" at some points, the show itself does deal with its subjects somewhat carefully. I really can't comprehend why the critics reviewed this show so poorly.

Homeland: Season 49
Apr 12, 2018
Now the whole strechted out storyline about Brody is gone, the writers of this show were able to focus on what made the first season of Homeland so great, so they could then turn that into a new season. In my opinion, this really paid off. A different setting, likeable new characters and a bigger focus on terrorism make this season of Homeland feel inspiring and exciting again.

Girlboss: Season 17

A lot of people I know hated this series, but something about it really entertained me. I thought it was funny, uplifting and cute. Okay, some episodes were a little bit dull, but it was the first season! I don't think Girlboss deserves all the hate and I would have loved to see a second season -- but yeah, I guess that's just me.

The End of the F***ing World: Season 19

I usually do not give this high scores on Metacritic, but I just do not have any point of critique whatsoever. This series is entertaining, heartbreaking and inspiring. The casting is great, the setting is beautiful as well... Ugh, it's nearly perfect!
