The only thing I can think is we are going through a period where the studios are holding back on a lot of the better movies and releasing movies that were meant originally for streaming. I'm really surprised this was in the theaters. I just was not scary at all. I really liked the original and this one looked like it might be cool from the trailer. But I just didn't like it at all. Very disappointed.

Well, after all the hype and delay I finally get to see this movie, and.... It's just a really bad movie lol.

I went in with two high expectations but it just wasn't that good. But the thing that really annoyed me was the entire film the writer/director was trying to make a point but at the end he disproves his own point with who end up with all the money. It showed the film was really about disliking a certain kind of people and liking another kind of people due to very superficial reasons.

It wasn't a bad movie. But it wasn't really a good movie either. I found it watchable and interesting enough on a moment to moment basis but when it ended a few people laughed and one guy said out loud "That's it?" Stories have a beginning a middle and an end. This movie just had a middle.

I thought it was really good and really well done. The only thing that brought it down for me a little bit was that the resolution dragged on.

As just a movie maybe it wasn't a 10 but for people interested in film making this was a masterpiece. As a movie alone I will give it an 8 but for what it achieved from a film making perspective a 10 so overall I'd give it a 9.

Honestly nothing really new about this film other than the location it was set. But I felt is was reasonably well done. If you are in the mood for a movie it was not GREAT! but not bad either. Just okay.

One big problem I think this movie has is the sound mix. There is an almost non stop music score that is in constant competition with the dialog (meaning the music and he dialog are at the same volume and it was hard to differentiate the two). That with the sound effects made it an actual cacophony. I watched the credits to see where the film's sound was mixed and was blown away to see it was done buy Skywalker sound sound which is the best in the business. It was just weird. I could hardly understand Downey's dialog half the time. Also there was a gag every second, it was just too much. There was just no down time to listen to any story or character development. I think re-edited it could be better to the point of it being an "okay" film but as it is wasn't very good. Too bad because I wanted to like it.

The Rise of Skywalker clearly tried to be its own movie after TLJ but it failed to be a coherent movie. It's just filled with plot holes and even more stuff to destroy the original trilogy. The ONLY thing I did like about this movie was the jabs it took at The Last Jedi. So sad. What a mess they made of Star Wars and how much they hurt its legacy. At least now its over. Time to move on and forget about this mess of a movie.
