Honestly it's an 8.5 out of 10, at best. But I'm giving it a 10 to offset all the losers review bombing this game. First off, it's no where near the level of quality set by Red Dead Redemption 2. It's more akin to Zelda games, specifically Breath of the Wild. Combat is satisfying, original, and unique. Swimming is clunky and needs more work. I am experiencing some glitches, but can overlook them for now.
It's a great reimagining and an excellent game, but definitely not a remake. I paid full price for it and still don't regret it. I would describe the gameplay as a mixture of Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 4. It's more "on-rails" feeling than Resident Evil 2 Remake. Visually, the game is beautiful.
The story isn't as good or original as the first, but the gameplay is way better. I paid full price for this at launch and don't regret it. Ran me about 28 hours for my first playthrough.
An excellent reimagining of Resident Evil 2. If there is one game you should play for PS4, it's this one. Like Zelda, but with guns & zombies. I wouldn't quite classify it as a straight up remake though, but it's very close.
Unpolished and felt cheap. Terrible enemy AI. Good visuals. I liked the setting and environment. We need a good sandbox/open world Zombie survival game but this ain't it. Game should take more notes from RDR2 and the good elements of DayZ. I was so excited for this game, but when the mixed reviews came out, I waited for a sale. The sale came, I paid $20 for it, and that's still too much. Too many supplies/Too much ammo made this game a real bore.
