I am not your "Bro", especially when the first time i try to launch the game nothing happens, the second time it plays an advert for The Witcher 4, and the 3rd time it tries to get me to download AMD software. 4th attempt at finally getting in it calls me their own made up slang version of "bro" on a legal document. One of the worst most **** launches in the past 5 years, and doing nothing to redeem themselves.

Star Wars Outlaws7
Sep 13, 2024
An authentic Star Wars Experience, from a point of view of the original trilogy, re-imagined with a "Solo" style integration of te prequels and clone wars. If you are a fan of Star Wars (and video games) you will likely have a great time with this game. It has many simple systems which are easy to comprehend and grasp. However, people looking for something new, different, challenging, or all of the above, are unlikely to find much satisfaction.

Basically Zero redeeming factors other than "it exists" and eve then I wouldn't call that a benefit. Long boring unskippable cutscenes, gameplay mechanics that come and go when the game sees fit (not when the player wishes to use them) and a messy story. How is the "peacefully arrest suspect" button the same as "brutally beat them to death" button. Oh wait, its a Cop simulator. say no more. 10/10 realism. 2/10 game.

What should be an intense 50 hour game with variety and a gripping story is drawn out into a 100 hour fetch quest of unnecessary loot items, side tasks, map marker hunting, and going backwards and forwards across a beautiful, but excessively large map. If you have the time, it is recommended, but expect half of that time to be fluff and filler.

A gem **** that refuses to allow you to control the main character in any way. You will start to find yourself lost in this game, drawn in, thrilled by what it has to offer. Then the horrific control system kicks in and you are reminded very very harshly that you are just playing a video game. couple that with a ridiculously outdated save system from PS1 times, any and all hiccups on account of the game are magnified tenfold due to the backtracking needed to be done. You are constantly fighting the game just to play the game. How any of the professional reviewers overlooked this HUGE blemish on the game is beyond me. it is your connection to the game, your physical connection through the keyboard and controller. Every time the character decides to do something different to what you expect (as the past 20 times you pressed that button it did one thing) it rips your right out of any immersion you may have. Here are some examples: 1) The button to "untie hostage" and "kick hostage to death" is the same button relevant to how close to the target you are. 2) the game will SOMETIMES aim a weapon when left trigger is pulled, SOMETIMES it will request you also them press the right trigger to aim a weapon. 3) Auto aim will prefer to target characters you can speak to, not characters you can shoot. 4) At one point "X" accepts an offer and "B" rejects it, then just minutes later with the same character "X" becomes reject, and "B" becomes accept. The game is a Ferrari with no wheels. yeah, you have a Ferrari but you cant do anything with it except leave it out of gear and rev the engine while its still inside your garage.

Too many bugs to give it any higher. its more of a 5.5 than a 6 right now. without bugs it would be a 6.0 - 7.5 The gameplay, world and survival elements are solid. the missions, quests and story are reasonably OK. but the bugs both game-breaking bugs and nuisance bugs are far too persistent. we are talking about fallout new Vegas level of bugs on release.

I am only about 20 hours in, and the majority of those 20 hours have been spent playing single player, withthe Ai buddies helping out, though i did play a brief bit of 2 player co-op, I brought the game myself, but at a hugely discounted price due to pre-order bonus and Uplay club points, and I also got access to the Beta for free. The size of the map, the diversity of the locations, the wealth of customisation and the beauty of the scenerey are staggering. its a 10/10 on the ubisoft scale for a ubisoft open world game, ticking every box, even the little "fake life" that goes on with kids kicking balls around a dusty town. But like most Ubisoft games this is a facade, you spend any time looking, its easy to see through. you start shooting in a crowded civillian area, the civillians arae just as likely to duck down in the middle of a road, or run straight into your gunfire. and between settlements there is very little beyond lush jungles, perfect for walking on foot. Talking about the large map, in other Ubisoft games, placing a map pointer at the far end of the map will give you a 5KM waypoint, it will be enjoyable to get there, in Wilalnds, placing even a close by mission marker may beat least 3KM, and you regularly feel you want to rush there by a car or helicopter, the game does little to encourage you to drive slow and take in the beautiful scenerey. As for gameplay, its solid. there are some criticisms on bullet drop, but mostly if you shoot someone, they go down. AI is a hot topic. i have sometiems had it where AI have been laser accurate in knowing my position, but in my recent multiplayer session we were attacking an enemy base, we got spotted and they sent a patrol out. we fled to the nearby hills and watched from drones as they got out of cars, patrolled the area, gave up, got back into their cars and drove away. now this wasnt perfect, it took a few minuts for the AI to figure out where the road was, and some Ai even took random civillian vehicles. the story is, limited at best. you spend so much time not focusing onthe story, but there are some things to read between the lines. i have seen many reviews saying its just some "hoorah" shooter where you can solve all problems by shooting enough people, and while the gamplay my make you believe that, listening to kingslayer files and idle AI chatter will make you realise that the story does go a bit deeper, but similar to many games, this is just giving story from found tapes and doccuments NOT showing you the story. In short, this game is mercenaries 3 with elss boom, a boring just cause, a fun (but limited ARMA 3) and i have even seen people compare it to MGSV without the rich story and heritage. the world is big, beautiful and bold, with clearly defined gameplay which will allow you to stray from it in co-op, but dont expect the game to get on well with you if you try to break the games rules. thoroughly enjoying it, and 100% happy i purchased it

first off. i just cant give this game any higher than a 7. a game that fails to have a function save feature and will almost always throw you right back the the very start of hour+ long missions due to a tiny slip up, or poor planning from the start is not fun at all. Aside from that, the game is regularly boring, completely hollow, and a façade for what should have been a linear game. mother base is but a tech tree you can walk around and get people to salute you, nothing more nothing less. the world just isn't real enough. they promised all sorts of different tactics, but nothing. there is no benefit to daytime attacks, AI can instantly report your location to every surrounding soldier, even if you shoot them before the radio reaches their mouth. the start was fantastic, then suddenly you are dumped into two boring maps with little going on. think farcry 2, and you will have pretty much nailed every element of MGSV: TPP, except MGS has more dart guns.

L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition4
Aug 28, 2015
I'm going to be kind and give this a 4. the world is beautiful and rich, the story is apparently fantastic, the characters filled out and detailed, and the missions varied. But this game, if you can call it that, fails at so many levels. At no point does it ever encourage mere exploration of the vast and beautiful recreation of LA. the detective mechanics are weak, vibrating controller to find clues? I'm on PC! and regularly vague choices leading to inevitable failure (you can accuse someone of a lie based on evidence you know and have found, yet are unable to present it ,and ultimately fail the accusation) The actual searching mechanic is slow, clunky and jarring every time you use it, zooming in on detailed objects in much less detailed environments. triggers for searching are also far to small or far to large, sometimes able to look at a simple bottle on the ground instead of the very obvious knife on side-walk. Overall, as a detective game LA noire fails, with more modern examples excelling, as a technological piece it fails, with the motion capture just too slow and already dated, and as a world with such a beautifully crafted world, it fails to allow you to view the beauty without constantly feeling punished.

I have never laughed so hard, i have never been so immersed in a game. even the demo was a fantastic piece of work. technical, its not that brilliant. its ye olde source engine, and game play wise its not much new, but if you want a story, a story so compelling and interactive. this is you best bet. an illusion. that is all this even is. every step of the way the so called "craft able story" it has gone against every thing i have wanted to do. vague dialoge choices never help, believing you will give one response, but Lee actually makes one completely different, un-skippable cut scenes also hinder the experience. under there there may be a good story, and well crafted characters, but the sheer imability to craft the story the way i want it to go is frustrating. had i gone into it knowing how linear and uncontrollable it is, i would never have even bothered. i have COD for linear story.

at the time of writing this i am vry annoyed at the game. so far every boss fight i have done has bugged out, and i therefore have to do it again, the texture loading is messed up, and they suddenly decided that a smart thing to do would be to make every gun in the game look as ugly as they could possibly make them. borderlands 2 should have been an addon to the first. seeming as the first games DLC was spectacular, and they decided to change hardly anything for the second game. then again, could that be a good thing, countless games second installments rarely live up to its predecessors, yet this feels so naturally borderlands that its like playing the same game. i would therefore say that it porbarbl is an improvement. its not helped by deciding to start you in the ugly barrand snowwy peaks which are just awful to look at. as for the love letter from claptrap, yes it has nice options, but i was still expecting more, i dont just want an option of "low medium and high" i want to choose the precice distance. anything that is in that .ini file, i want as an option! the PhysX is rarther nice though, just adding that little sparkle, but none of the Physx effect fit in with the rest of the game. the style is all wrong, so it just looks unatural. and of course my biggest gripe. since the underdome addon i think it was brutaly clear that this game is heavily focused on multiplayer co-op. by all means, we need more co-op gaes out there, but dont punish me for being a single player. its not quite EA's level of ONLINE IS NUMBER ONE, ONLINE MUST DOMINATE" but as a single player i would like to be able to have some automatic function that if i do get downed, i can pay to revive myself on the spot, not have to go through a new you station and therefore reset all the enemies in that level, to simply die the same way as before. it feels as though 2K just didnt listen to a single person, and simply went their own way creating what is even worse than what activision do with their call of duty franchise. and my final gripe is the classes. by al means, add new classes, but dont mess up our previous classes. i had to run with the boring soldier, as there was no hunter with the formidable and amazing bloodwing. all i can say is i fear that i will once again bugg out after spending 40 grueling minutes trying to fight a boss that was designed to be killed with 4 players (cough crawmarex the invincible cough), and simply get responses of "well maybey you should just play some c-op with friends"

Im going to against my gut feeling so I can produce a reliable review. why this score. Well to rebalance the morons who gave it a red score. Some are right. If you bug this game for multiplayer or groundbreaking gameplay mechanics. Or cutting edge graphics, this game isnt for you, but if you love a story. Its unbetable. first, im a PC gamer therefore a graphics ****. The graphics arent fabulous, but every scene has detail, good lighting, and there is a huge variety (of unfortunately mediocre quality) textures. Many are used only once, very uncomon for a game. gameplay. For a cover based third person shooter, there is nothing new, but it certainly does alot better than most game. Sometimes a bit clunky, but only a few times making me angry. The shooting is nice. Head shots are deadly, and body shots do the damage they should. story. The key feature. People says it is copying heart of darkness and apocalyps now would be correct. It certainly is. But thats a good thing. For a game to be able to capture such a magnificent storytelling feat is monumentous. Never has a developer gone so brave in a video game, yet pulled it off so well. My hats of to all who worked on the game. Thankyou investors for going brave (even if you did fore a generic tac on multiplayer as a contiingency) overall this is yet another game tha makes me want to go and rate every other game I have said has a good story down a point, and yet another to add to my hillariously big list if "games you must play" with this one sitting very near the top with such beasts as red dead redemption and assassins creed.

more of an 8.5, but for the sheer amazing story, design, soundtrack and pretty much everything i have decided to round up the score. the boss fights. a hot topic. if you are smart enough to make sure you always have an assault rifle with you and a stack of 200 ammo, you should be fine. they were hard, very hard. even on easiest setting. but as for the good stuff, well i decided to just say the bad stuff, as there is so much good stuff you just cant say. if you love a rich, in depth world, a great story, or just stealthy gameplay and a big challenge, then this game is for you. it is amazing.. not that i should need to reccommend it as you should have already played it

Minecraft ripoff. now before you hate on me, to call somthing a ripoff of what could be considered the most sucessful game ever, ioneering (or should isay actually making popular) the block building game type, then calling terraria minecraft ripoff is a comliment. while minecraft uused to focus more on mining and building (now minecraft is nicking ideas from terraria) terraria is more about exploring and fighting bosses, and finding and crafthing a HUGE amount of loot. from what i heard this guy made the game for some mates that didnt like certain things about minecraft. when he released it it became hugely popular, and he did the amazing thig of then updating the game. its a great game, ridiculously cheap, and even though i have barely ventured from my house in it, i have already clocked 11 hours!

Texture pop n, the game first off. im a halo fanboy. i loved halo from the very first day my best friend said "want to play haloo?" . hours would be spent playing it, time and time again. and just the campaign. we still do the same with the newer halo games, only shout through head sets this time. all this means that halo has a very very comfortable place in my childhood and my heart. so when i find out they are making an aniversary edition, i couldnt wait. strangely enough i gad to (due to a lack of a xbox 360 to play it on). so after starting it up it was wonderful (there were some things i didnt like) e.g the new ring looks a bit stange, Jhonson looks slightly **** and some of the much loved animations in cutscenes had ben altered (marines magicaly spining on the spot anyone?) but now to the man problem. texture pop in. from that statement you should be able to tell that i am now a fully fledged PC gamer. a person who prefers pretty led's in a case than energy saving. and this game has alot of it. an awful lot. think RAGE on a bad day. but whats even better is it dosent matter, as when you use the (not quite so instant) transition between only and new graphivd, you can see just how far it has come. as a technical masterpiece halo combat evolved is brillian. two engines running at the same time! brining back an old game, but not ruining it! i hope more companies follow in the role of 343. no longer should there be hirendous "HD collection" where they simply double the textures. this is actually an edit of my old revview. im giving it a lower score, as while they have done the graphics, they still havnt fixed issues with halo, e.g. checkpoints that are so far appart, its just easier to start the level again

for start. as a technical achievement, this game isn't much. pretty much innovations on graphics, etc.
BUT where this game looses points in numerous bugs, bad AI and voice acting that literally sounds like it was done over a phone, it makes up for in epic scale, that it almost achieves
many war games don't fee like war. simply as you are in a narrow corridor shooting at about 10 people max. in darkest of days you take part in battles where nearly 100 soldiers fight each other.
that may be a bad thing, as the AI is so bad you usually end up being the one who kills th 100. as for story, its very interesting. no other game lets you play the same mission, but from the enemies point of view.
i would recommend this game, definitely, but i would warn, its a bit short, follow the paths, and only if you can get it a bit cheaper than usual.
