Dead City's new batch of episodes brings in new factions, fresh ideology, and different terrain to traverse, but it's still really for Walking Dead die-hards only. There are still exciting moments here and there, but the most interesting part is just how much of a contrarian punk Hershel's become.
The Walking Dead: Dead City doesn't seem to have much story left to tell. Like the worst seasons of the original series, it's merely shuffling in place, desperately searching for something of bigger substance to chew on.
Not as good as season 1 but not that far off. I think most of the problems come from the additional 2 episodes (this season has 8 episodes whilst season 1 only had 6) and the lack of worthwhile content for it. It does feel like there's more filler in season 2 and entire parts that could have been cut out .(the park people for example). This also affects the pacing. It feels less like a long movie and falls back to the original walking dead's problems post season 7 where there's a story to tell but it's bogged down in too much character drama. Hopefully they'll be able to course correct for season 3.
